The owner seems to be Chinese. Almost all the guests are Chinese. It's a bit worn out, but the location is good. Coffee, tea, and rolls in the morning. Everything is fine.

This hotel offers good value for money. It's not the best hotel I've stayed in, but it's perfectly adequate for visiting San Francisco. 😊 The reception staff are very friendly.

Grant hotel is very well located close to Union square, Powell Bart station and Market Street bus and tram routes. We had a very spacious comfortable and quiet room on floor 5. Staff were courteous and helpful. Other guests have mentioned a bad smell, and we did notice a few different unpleasant smells on various occasions but either they were intermittent or we just got used to them over our 6 night stay there. I would recommend this hotel for safety, cleanliness, quietness and location.

Hotel room is spacious with queen bed and comfy mattress. It has a big bathroom with bath tub and a good hot shower. It doesn't have hair dryer in room but you can requested from front desk. Hotel 's reception open 24 hr. Hotel have complimentary pastry and coffee in the morning, Ice and water machine at lobby. Checking in and out is easy.
If you desire to walk to hotel from union square, it is not a long walk ( 15-20 min) ,BUT you have to walk up on very high hill street and very hard with heavy luggage.

Spacious room, 2 four-foot beds, comfortable to sleep in. The surrounding area is safe even at night. There is luggage storage. There is a simple breakfast, a variety of breads, tea, coffee, and free ice. Check-in starts at 12:00 noon and you can request to check out after 12:00 noon. The staff is available 24 hours a day and provides excellent service.

Very friendly staff, clean room and very good location with a stop of cable car with just one minute walk! Also the hotel provides 24/7 tea,coffee,water and complimentary breakfast which I really enjoyed and appreciated.

Although it is a bit far from Union Square, it is not at all inconvenient for walking around the area. It's a bit difficult to go up at first. The cable car stop is next to it, so it's easy to get to nearby tourist attractions.
It's right on the border between a residential area and a crowded area, so the area around the hotel is quiet, but as expected from other reviews, the soundproofing between rooms is not good. I think it might be difficult for people who are sensitive to sound because you can hear everyone talking happily in the room next door.
There is no hair dryer. I've seen someone take it from the counter, so I think it might be possible to rent it.
It was my only hotel stay during my month-long trip, and I think it was reasonable considering the cost of accommodation in the United States. It's hard to compare it to other Southeast Asian or Korean accommodations.

After visiting San Fran for many years, we finally remembered to make a dinner reservation at The Big 4 before arriving in town. The restaurant is so named for the four industrialists who were responsible for SF's early growth and success. Many photos and artifacts are on display much like a museum. The decor is gorgeous wood paneled walls, large antique mirrors, burgandy velvet banquettes, candle light, fine linens and restaurant silver, impeccably mannered staff attend almost invisibly while making guests feel like royals. The menu is heavily weighted towards aged, prime steak and chops. Sides are family style, order several. Desserts are decadent. Enjoy live piano music, and arrive early to spend time in the bar before dinner for a full Big 4 experience. We can't wait to return for another luxurious experience in this gorgeous building.

and an excellent menu. This is not the restaurant you whip out your iPhone to take pictures of the food. As famous for their brunch as their lunch and their dinner menu. Once, along time ago, my date was not allowed in because he didn't have a tie ... The dress code has changed.

Absolutely fabulous food, atmosphere and service. Mind you, the prices may seem high, but you get what you paid for. Great for large parties since servings are family style. I had to finalize the menu in advance, but you can customize it and even chose the title on the menu for the gathering.

The restaurant is off an alley, which is hard to spot. The Le Colonial neon sign points the way. Outs an unassuming entrance, but once you get inside, it's marvelous. Looks to be an old Victorian how converted into a restaurant.
The food was great too. I wasn't wowed by their spring rolls, but the Pot An Pho was absolutely incredible.

Ok. Maybe my review is a little harsh. Normally I don't deduct for poor service. But they got my friends order completely wrong. As in wrong item. No offer of discounting barely an apology. We had a show to make so no chance of getting the right item. We requested another table but were told they had a reservation for the other table. It sat empty the entire time we were there.
Food would have been 4 star. Nothing spectacular. More upscale than most but flavors kind of flat.
I'd skip. Many other better choices in the area.

Came here for a team dinner with my company. Michelle made it easy to organize and order for everyone, while be conscious of dietary restrictions. The food was delicious and the drinks were strong and tasty! Be aware: they have a dress code here!

Excellent location. Atmosphere definitely resembles old French colonial buildings in Saigon. Food was very good. Had the oxtail bowl. Bone marrow with mushrooms was amazing. Highly recommend for intimate evening.
