The Fairmont is a true classic, San Francisco at its best. Not the newest but still so classy. Room was quiet and comfortable, can’t wait to go back!

We had the most wonderful wedding hosted by the University Club in June of this year.

The atmosphere is both sophisticated and welcoming. It’s the perfect setting for a wedding with cocktail semi-formal, or formal attire. The interior is well decorated with old school college club and sport paraphernalia. It features photos and relics from schools across the country including several from California. Thanks to the awesome atmosphere and decoration, you get plenty of photo opportunities in different nooks and crannies. Our favorite was the library where we took some pre-ceremony shots and signed the marriage license after. The venue shoots great photos in color or black and white.

Our wedding was split along two floors - the upper floor featuring a circular bar, a library room, a room with a pool table, and a large room with a fireplace and balcony where we had our ceremony. The lower floor was where dinner was served - and it featured another balcony with wonderful views framing the speeches from our parents and best men. After dinner, we returned to the top floor, which had been transformed into a dance floor. Between songs, the circular bar served drinks, the pool table was outfitted with desserts, and guests could get fresh air and take selfies on the balcony with a lovely backdrop of San Francisco’s skyline.

The club’s staff gave great support through the wedding planning process and coordinated the day-of like a ballet troupe. When we were touring venues, Gavin did a great job taking us through the Club, putting us at ease and helping us see the venue’s potential. Once we reserved our date, Gavin, Yvonne, and the rest of the team were excellent communicators and were great guides when figuring out seating and catering.

The Club provides catering - and it is excellent. For our options, we went with the New York steak and pan-seared duck breast, along with stuffed acorn squash as a vegan option. Dinner ran extremely smoothly and the staff even accommodated some ad hoc requests, like when our friend requested they send us chicken tenders (the kids meal) as a gag. The bar service was also excellent and speedy. In addition to dinner, the venue provided dessert options. When we brought in donuts from Bob’s donuts, they laid them out alongside their prepared desserts.

University Club gave us a great foundation to build our wedding on and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Attended a wedding here, could have been a beautiful wedding venue but they had about 10 Round tables for 250+ guests, so only 1/4 were seated as family and elders. The rest of the 200 guests stood … the whole night… They supposedly promised enough cocktail tables to accommodate the rest but I counted 4 cocktail tables so it was a hot damn mess. Too stuffy and hot in the one floor that was open during speeches and dining portion of the night. Half the guests were on the balcony trying to cool down… which I’m sure Is a safety hazard.

It’s a really nice hotel located in the top hill of San Francisco downtown. The room is great with a fantastic view to the north side of the city all the way to fisherman’s wharf. It’s fabulous!

Classic vintage charm with spacious rooms that work well for a family of 3. The hotel is well-maintained and comfortable, though a bit of warmth at the reception would really elevate the experience.

The hotel where the conference was held, but there was a bug between the agent and the hotel. One room could not be checked in. After a long communication, the front desk service attitude was not very good, and the back-end phone could not be reached. Fortunately, it was well negotiated with Ctrip.
The room is relatively small and the settings are relatively old. After all, it is a century-old hotel. The laundry is all from Le Labo, but it is not bad.
The breakfast restaurant is not a buffet, and the introduction is incorrect. The ordering and serving are very slow, maybe it is a sense of relaxation.
The location of the hotel is good, but it is very close to the tram route, and the Inception camera is one or two blocks away.

After visiting San Fran for many years, we finally remembered to make a dinner reservation at The Big 4 before arriving in town. The restaurant is so named for the four industrialists who were responsible for SF's early growth and success. Many photos and artifacts are on display much like a museum. The decor is gorgeous wood paneled walls, large antique mirrors, burgandy velvet banquettes, candle light, fine linens and restaurant silver, impeccably mannered staff attend almost invisibly while making guests feel like royals. The menu is heavily weighted towards aged, prime steak and chops. Sides are family style, order several. Desserts are decadent. Enjoy live piano music, and arrive early to spend time in the bar before dinner for a full Big 4 experience. We can't wait to return for another luxurious experience in this gorgeous building.

A true San Francisco classic.
Elegant, great service-that is old-school, lovely ambiance
and an excellent menu. This is not the restaurant you whip out your iPhone to take pictures of the food. As famous for their brunch as their lunch and their dinner menu. Once, along time ago, my date was not allowed in because he didn't have a tie ... The dress code has changed.
