Excellent location , old hotel , many good restaurant nearby .
The room was a good size, had plenty of storage, was clean, and was in a great location that was very walkable. The staff were helpful, although I had trouble contacting them before my stay (I attempted both through the chat here and by phone, but neither was successful).
The location is great walkable to so many places. The room is clean and cozy. Hotel also provided a vending machine which’s I love cos I just don’t wanna go outside for some snacks in the cold weather
I like the place beacause it is quiet and clean! Also, it is near downtown Chicago, which is very accessible to some attractions! The staff in general is friendly! Love it
This is my third time staying here. All three times I've had different style of rooms. All of which is beautiful. The hotel doesn't offer much as far as breakfast, staff does their job but not much more but that's ok. The real charm of this is the architecture, history and the spirits. Place really is like no other. Kinda cool really.
We stayed for three nights at the Congress Plaza Hotel. Overall, it was a nice stay — our room faced the lake and was surprisingly large for a city hotel. The newer floors and furniture gave it a refreshed feel.
A few notes: there’s no central AC or heat. There’s a small air unit near the window, but it only circulates air rather than heating or cooling it. We visited in early November (temps around...

The location was amazing, surrounded by the Chicago River. The breakfast buffet was filling and a relaxing environment. The waitstaff was attentive and the view was grand!
Hotel was pretty good. A few little annoyances, but these were made up for by the great location; right on the river with incredible views from the windows. It’s a bit of a mission to get to the rooms (up one elevator through the restaurant to another set of lifts and up again). Despite the 3 elevators from the ground floor up to the 15th reception, they took ages. It’s as if only one of the worked...

room was spacious , overall hotel is great tp stay. breakfast was good. just that need to take multiple lift to reach the hotel.
It was not a comfortable stay especially due to noisy AC, staff is supportive but all room have the same issue.
The hotel's 15th-floor reception hall is super tall and large, the rooms are spacious and bright, the bedding is skin-friendly, soft and comfortable, and from the window you can overlook the five iron bridges across the Chicago River and the buildings on both sides that are full of stories, and get a glimpse of the majesty of this century-old industrial city... The only drawback is that the water output...

Had a great stay here. Super friendly staff and very conveniently located. The rooms are great, functional layout and the bed is SO comfy. Highly recommend
I had a wonderful stay at the Courtyard in Chicago! The hotel was spotless, the location was perfect, and the overall experience was top-notch. A very special thank you to Tabitha, who went above and beyond to take care of us during our visit. She made me feel like family — warm, welcoming, and truly attentive to every detail. It’s rare to find that level of genuine hospitality, and it made all the...
I wanted to give 5 stars for the service received by Latonya!! She made a not so great experience feel much better by her energy, warmness and overall excellent customer service.
On the other end, the rooms were just okay, but the smell of them was horrific. They had a sewage smell to them and I was later made aware that there was some issue going on with the water. The other disappointment was in...
I have nothing but good thing to say about this hotel. Excellent service, location and facilities. The pool and surrounding areas were always clean. The rooms were cleaned daily by an excellent staff. Front desk people, doorman and security all great. Chek-in and out was a breeze.
Walking distance to the River Walk, Millennium Park, Navy Pier and others are fairly close. Red Line train station only...
It's a bit noisy outside. Some of the waiters in the restaurant are very nice, but some are not so nice.
Very good, very unexpected, this price can live in such a big room. Trump is a few steps away from the hotel, and there is also a Dunkin Donut next to it.

I stayed at the hotel for two nights and three days in late December 2025.
Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing.
The heating system in my room was extremely loud, making it difficult to sleep.
During my entire stay, there was no housekeeping service or towel replacement, which was very inconvenient.
The building also feels quite old; even the elevator rattled whenever it moved...
I could overlook the minor inconveniences, such as the poor service and occasional rudeness of a receptionist, but two major issues made my stay uncomfortable. First, my room was extremely dark as it faced an interior courtyard with little natural light. Second, there was pet fur everywhere, which was especially problematic since I have allergies. I did not see any prior warning that these rooms allowed...
Our room on the 8th was spotless and well-kept. Location was perfect for easy access to the Lyric Opera Theatre. Our only complaint was the breakfast. Plan on bringing your own or eating elsewhere.
Breakfast without eggs, bacon and cheese, 😩😩😩
It is near the bus stop, convenient to travel, breakfast is ok, room is clean.
There is a refrigerator, microwave, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hair dryer. The shower head is fixed to the wall. The location was good. I recommend it.

All is good except the noise from the fire department from the opposite and the hole below the door is too big the flow wind can go through
The breakfast was varied and the atmosphere was casual and nice.
This is a wonderful, clean hotel with friendly staff. We stayed 4 nights and this location is perfect for being a walking tourist and you can easily use the bus and train here as well. We usually choose a hotel with breakfast for convenience and this breakfast was wonderful. We had an excellent stay at Hyatt. Room service was great; they kept the room clean when we were out, neatly folded my clothes, and quickly fixed the window curtains. Also had a great breakfast. The food selection was superb. Santosi assisted us during it. She was a joy to talk to.
I booked a King bed, but as a Hyatt member I was upgraded to Double Queen bed with a view. I will book again at this hotel in the future. See below
Pros:

Our son attended an event at IIT and this place was a great place to stay. Just minutes from campus. The room was clean and had just been remodeled. Free parking is a bonus. Didn't do anything at the hotel, so I can only comment on the room. We had a room towards the center court so it was very quiet.
Clean, quiet. The reception staff is very friendly.
Perfect. If you want to come to chicago, but don't want to stay too far out.But you don't want to be in the mix of the heavy traffic. I realized spacious rooms. They have their own parking lot.So you don't have to worry about paying for parking close to soldier, feel and literally fourteen minutes on the bus to get to the loop.
I like the staff because they made it feel like home. Called the room to check on us to make sure we had the proper accommodations. The staff is so welcoming. It was almost to good to be true. The manager went above and beyond to make sure our booking got straightened out because there was a booking error. Last, the bed was so comfortable. I melted into the sheets like butter. This hotel is on its last leg. If you’re looking for a place to just rest your head at night, it does the job. It’s one of those places that if you touch it wrong it’s gonna break. No complaints about staff, they were kind from the little interactions we had.

I was in town for my daughter's orchestra concert at DePaul. This hotel was in my price range, so I took my chances (the reviews were quite mixed). I really liked the hotel, except that the room service didn't come every day, I had to go to reception and ask for cleaning and changing the towels. It was very well located, close to the subway and a bike station nearby, I could do everything on foot, I didn't rent a car, the breakfast was wonderful and plentiful, I really liked it and would go back.
The location is excellent, by the river in the city center, close to various attractions, cost-effective, the decoration is relatively new, and the service response is very fast. The only drawback is that there is something wrong with the bathroom design. The shower room only has a shower curtain and no waterproof barrier. Once you take a shower, the entire bathroom is filled with water, and it feels...
The hotel is located in the city center, with convenient transportation and close to the lake. You can walk to Macy's and other large shopping malls. There are also Chicago Bean and Qianxi Park to visit.

Very nice hotel. Small but very clean and a nice boutique look and feel. Staff was very friendly!

All the basic amenities provided.
Good location for walking to State street and the parks along MIchigan Ave.
I had a great big room that was as clean as they come. The staff was really nice. Free coffee in the morning in addition to the stuff in the room. The fridge was a little bigger than most hotel rooms I've been in.
Bringing wrong car from valet extended our wait to 30 minutes and there’s three valet workers we saw. Loved the room and staff though.
This hotel is incredibly clean. The staff super nice and friendly. I will return to this hotel when I come to Chicago.
Very friendly and helpful staff, nice room…very comfortable and spacious. I especially loved that large bathroom with its great shower! One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in! The staff was so nice, the room was very clean, and the lobby was so fun! And there’s an animal shelter right next door. I plan on staying again next month when I return.
First time at the Moxy and it was great! Staff went above and beyond and the atmosphere in the lobby was icing on the cake. Can’t wait to come back.
Everyone should stay at the Moxy. Very friendly staff, fun, cozy space that’s walking distance from all the great Chicago attractions. Highly recommended
Love this hotel chain. I’ve stayed in a Moxy in almost every city I’ve ever visited. This hotel lived up to everything I loved about the Moxy. This should be a five star review but the ac/heat for some reason was set to a motion sensor. It’s January and I keep waking up out of my sleep because the room would get ultra cold. Idk who thought of that but it’s ridiculous.
Clean room, great vibes in the lobby. Food at the taco place was delicious with good vegetarian options.
me and my friend had the best time at moxys! staff was super welcoming and our room was super nice. i loved how alive it is on friday and saturdays, the dj and vibes are great! not far from main downtown and not too close which we loved. honestly perfect for two people and i would recommend!

Breakfasts were great, new offerings every day. Freshly cooked. I plan to go back to Chicago and I'll be staying here again.
The hotel located in the midst of Hyde Park , Chicago. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. We took public transportation to places which is very accessible. We will stay there again if we go to Chicago again.
The room was spacious, and the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet.
The hotel offers comprehensive facilities, comfortable beds, and a very clean environment. The bathtub was easy to use, and the internet connection was reliable and strong. It's also conveniently located very close to the University of Chicago. The breakfast, served from 7-10 AM, was delicious.
It's quite quiet, not crowded. There is a Macy's nearby, within walking distance. The price is reasonable, the waiters are quite enthusiastic, the cleaning is timely and clean.

Nice clean rooms. Staff is always smiling. The bar area could upgrade the sound system as the acoustics are muffled.
Nice enough of a hotel for the price but I found 50 dollars a night to park a bit expensive. They don’t supply free coffee other than what is in the room. There isn’t a free breakfast and the breakfast menu is expensive.

Good location to reach out all science places. Giordano’s deep dish pizza is very near from hotel. Walking 5 mins to Skydeck Chicago building.

Hotel is in a great location but is in need of a revamp/modernisation. The co-working space and lobby are nice and modern but they do not reflect the room. Beds were clean but the room carpet was a little dirty. Bathroom was old but the water pressure was good. Overall ticks the box to visit downtown but not special in anyway.
