Not a great area at all. Not walkable to much and certainly not a place you want to walk alone at night. I was attending a convention at McCormick place and thought this would be a good choice to walk that was cheaper than the hotels right there/attached. On my first day I was followed by a man in a white truck back to my hotel who clocked me as a non-local right away. I immediately did not feel safe. The front desk clerk did not seem worried about it when I told her and just said “shoot I’m sorry.” The lobby was ok so I went ahead and checked in and figured I would just uber from then on. The hotel smelled different in every hallway and was clearly dirty as soon as I left the lobby. My room was disgustingly with dirty walls and carped floors that have probably never been cleaned. It had a weird musty smell that immediately gave me a headache. Took me 30 min to find another hotel and check out. By the time I told them I was leaving, the shifts had changed and a new girl was there. She was very sweet and said she would try to get me a refund for that night as well as the next and she would leave note for her manager but said I needed to call the booking company I used as well. When they contacted the hotel, there were no notes but the did eventually get ahold of the manager who issued me a full refund- the only reason I went with 2 stars instead of 1. If you’re coming for a convention, Spend the extra money to stay downtown and walk or take the bus to McCormick or stay at a hotel closer/attached to the convention center. Your safety is worth more than a cheaper hotel!

Our son attended an event at IIT and this place was a great place to stay. Just minutes from campus. The room was clean and had just been remodeled. Free parking is a bonus. Didn't do anything at the hotel, so I can only comment on the room. We had a room towards the center court so it was very quiet.

Very old hotel with outdated equipment and absolutely terrible service. The elevator was not working during dinner time. When we went to the reception desk for help, the receptionist kept sending us back and forth to an “alternative” elevator that also did not work. No one took responsibility or offered any real solution. In the end, we were forced to climb the stairs all the way to the 5th floor. Completely unacceptable and extremely frustrating. I will never stay here again and want everyone to know about this experience.

This was the worst hotel I’ve been to. I genuinely believe the only “housekeeping” done was to change the garbage bags because there’s no way they wouldn’t have noticed all the grossness in our room had they actually cleaned. I don’t even think there was a cleaning lady until I saw her on the last day. The stains on the bedskirt are EXACTLY what you think they are. I can only assume the same for the desk chair. The shower curtain was covered in mold! It somehow even got into the ceiling light. There was makeup all over the bathroom sink and floor. Same with hair. Even the towels smelled off. Don’t even get me started on the mold in the heater or the broken lamps. I wish I could say the service made up for it, but their behavior explains the state of the hotel. One was more interested in talking on the phone than aiding us, and the other brought her dog to work. It was highly unprofessional, not to mention unsanitary and the complete disregard for those who have allergies. Genuinely the only thing I can give this hotel is props for there being no bed bugs. I’ve showered a bunch since coming home but my skin is still crawling. The noise level was bad, there were kids screaming up and down the halls.

I like the staff because they made it feel like home. Called the room to check on us to make sure we had the proper accommodations. The staff is so welcoming. It was almost to good to be true. The manager went above and beyond to make sure our booking got straightened out because there was a booking error. Last, the bed was so comfortable. I melted into the sheets like butter. Would definitely recommend this hotel over alot of downtown hotels!

Perfect.If you want to come to chicago, but don't want to stay too far out.But you don't want to be in the mix of the heavy traffic. I realized spacious rooms. They have their own parking lot.So you don't have to worry about paying for parking close to soldier, feel and literally fourteen minutes on the bus to get to the loop.

This hotel is on its last leg. If you’re looking for a place to just rest your head at night, it does the job. It’s one of those places that if you touch it wrong it’s gonna break. No complaints about staff, they were kind from the little interactions we had.

You can tell the hotel is just old and they’re no longer putting money into fixing things. It’s just being barely maintained. We had two key cards, one stopped working after one use. The second key card stopped working the next day (we stayed two nights). When we got to our hotel room upon arrival the door was open, it couldn’t close on its own - which is whatever but made me nervous to enter the room. The beds were clean so was the bathroom. The curtains had stains on them-not sure how that happens. Toilet leaked.

No microwaves in room, but there are some in the business center. The business center offers coffee and hot water. Hot water was not hot at all so.

Main elevators didn’t work half the time either.

Two good notes: parking is included. Location was perfect for us and the event we attended.

I was in town for my daughter's orchestra concert at DePaul. This hotel was in my price range, so I took my chances (the reviews were quite mixed). For check-in, the gal at the counter was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed meeting the adorable French bulldog who "helped out" at the counter. No issues at all with the elevator (other reviews stated that the elevators weren't working). The room was clean and spacious. There was free coffee in the breakfast room, which I took advantage of (it was good coffee, too!). I appreciated the free parking right next to the hotel, and there were several spaces available every time I entered it. As a single woman of a certain age, I am always aware of my surroundings and quite cautious. However, I didn't feel unsafe at any time in the hotel or parking lot. This hotel is nothing fancy, but it worked just fine for me! I will stay here again in the future.

Upon check in, we had an issue with our key. They were kind and quick to solve this issue for us. But the moment we walked in to our room, there were roaches. We walked out and informed the front desk and asked to cancel our stay, who very rudely kept denying that they did not have roaches and had a very rude attitude during the process.
I apologize for the blurry photo as it kind of just looks like a black blob. But I didn’t want to get any closer to them if you can understand. There were at least 3 crawling around the carpet. I wish I could post the Live Photo to show it crawling around, but I cannot.

Definitely do not recommend. If they are denying having roaches then they must not be willing to do anything about it.
