This place was pretty cool to stay at. Rooms were meh. But the vibe was what I would expect for staying close to the French quarter. Loved every bit of it.

If you're looking for an affordable and authentic New Orleans experience, The New Orleans Guest House delivers. It’s got more personality than any chain hotel, and its biggest asset is hands-down the location—just a short (and I mean very short) stumble away from the French Quarter and all the Bourbon Street madness. Perfect for a casual weekend trip where you plan to spend most of your time out on the town.

The building itself is older, which brings plenty of charm—think creaky floors, vintage vibes, and a courtyard that feels like a step back in time. That said, "rustic" is part of the package. Don’t expect modern luxury or high-end finishes here. If you're after sleek decor, plush robes, and room service, this might not be your scene.

But for the price, comfort, and unbeatable proximity to the French Quarter, it’s a solid win. Great for couples, solo travelers, or groups of friends who want a place to crash without breaking the bank.

I’d stay here again, especially if I’m planning to lean into the Bourbon Street lifestyle. Bring your sense of adventure, and you’ll fit right in.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at New Orleans Guest House! If you’re looking for a great location, friendly staff, and a charming stay with easy access to the French Quarter, this is the place!

• We stayed in Room #5, an upstairs 1-bedroom with a bathroom and a HUGE balcony—perfect for a 2-night stay.
• The room had a TV, fridge, A/C & heater, and a fan—everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
• Yes, the hotel is old, but that’s part of the charm—it fits perfectly with the historic New Orleans vibe!

• On-site parking right next to the hotel!
• Yes, there’s a charge, but it’s close, secure, and super convenient—well worth it in a busy city like NOLA.

🐶 PET-FRIENDLY & SAFE
• We brought our Frenchie with us, and it was safe, easy, and very pet-friendly!
• Walking around the area felt secure, and we had easy access to everything.

🚶‍♂️ LOCATION – PERFECT FOR EXPLORING
• We parked our car and didn’t move it until we left—everything is within walking distance!
• Just a short walk to the French Quarter and all the amazing food, music, and sights of New Orleans.

• The staff was AMAZING—so friendly, talkative, and knowledgeable about the area.
• They gave us great local tips and made sure we had everything we needed.

The staff here are outstanding! So helpful and attentive. The location is perfect. A few minutes walk to every place you would want to visit. I loved the quaint rooms. I had my daughter with me as well as my dog. We felt right at home. The beds were super comfortable and the rooms were cozy! The neighborhood was really special. I walked my dogs a few times a day and I was able to see architecture that was screaming New Orleans! Visit the Louis Armstrong Park that is only a block away. It was a very special vacation. I am so glad that we stayed here.

Nice place, a traditional New Orleans style home converted to a professionally run B&B. Rooms were clean and furnished in period furniture. Good shower. The hosts were great. Breakfast was excellent and coffee always available. What I liked best was the quiet location very close to the French Quarter, about a five minute walk. It is VERY EASY to find your way to and from the quarter because it is by the Louis Armstrong park, which has a huge, lighted entryway facing the quarter. Only bad thing was that you only get one key per room, so make more keys so I can give you five stars! You will need to pay for parking. They absolutely will not allow pets. Bigger vehicles have room to park across the street. I really enjoyed my stay and recommend it for anyone who wants a quiet and relaxing visit.

Loved the historic feel of this 1840’s guest house. The antique furniture was gorgeous. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We loved the courtyard. Staff was super friendly. It really felt like staying in someone’s house instead of a hotel, it was great. On-site parking was secure and really cheap for New Orleans. I loved the cats on the property. We would definitely stay here again.

So far, so good. Our plane was delayed by almost 3 hours, but we were emailed a code to get in and a way to get into our room even though staff leaves earlier in the evening. Room is clean and well turned. Beautiful antique pieces. Great start to our New Orleans weekend!
