The staff was so friendly and helpful, the location was great, and the hotel is gorgeous! Great experience loved my stay there

The room is small. The window is smaller than the average Queen size. It feels old. The bathroom is very small. I found that the bathroom light was not on before going to bed at night. I don’t know why. It was still not on until the next day. There was a lot of noise outside the window, maybe from the air conditioner or something. Fortunately, we were very tired and fell asleep. When we were awake during the day, we basically didn’t stay in the room. It was still very noisy after staying for a while. We lived on the 5th floor. There is a swimming pool on the 16th floor. It is very small, but it is enough for children to swim. It is still very comfortable to watch the sunset.

Wonderful service! The concierge booked a room with Irene after my efforts were in vain. Nicely furnished room with a wonderful view. Love the pool and rooftop bar. The doorman was always friendly and helpful. They also held our luggage after we checked out until it was time for our train to depart. The bar downstairs was very chic. The only downside was that the carousel didn't work.

Beautiful hotel, excellent service, Nolan took incredible care of our family, helping us find great restaurants and delivering our luggage. The rooms were in immaculate condition, everyone from the valet, door opener, carport, restaurant staff to the front desk were great people! Super clean! Keep us doing great work! We will definitely be back.

Had a wonderful holiday here! The staff was very helpful. Felt safe and it was close to everything we wanted to see. The room was small but clean and well appointed, with a coffee maker, toiletries and a refrigerator. It's nice to come home to a sparkling clean hotel room every day. Definitely I would stay here again!

The old world charm, great service, beautiful room, fabulous location.

Hotel Monteleone is a jewel of a hotel. Ideal location for those wanting a luxurious weekend in the heart of New Orleans. Upscale without being presumptuous. Newly renovated and contains the must-do Carousel Lounge, a real treat aesthetically and boasting the birthplace of the Vieux Carré, a 1930s cocktail you've got to try!

Despite all I've mentioned, there is one thing that exceeds them...or one person. Dionne Dunn is the Reservation Manager of Hotel Monteleone and is the reason compelling this review. She made the impossible possible, last minute, and with the kindness and grace few possess these days. Our situation was unique, unexpected, stressful, and most likely a headache for Ms. Dunn and her staff, but you'd never know it if you were there for the fiasco. Frankly, she would've been within her rights to huff, roll her eyes, speak tersely, or even tell us to kick rocks. Instead, she maintained her professional composure while going above and beyond to save our weekend. Ms. Dunn, if you ever read this, know that you are highly respected, greatly appreciated, and deserving of recognition. Hotel Monteleone may be the jewel of the French Quarter but you, dear lady, are the Queen. Thank you!

Stayed here three times over the last five years. Impeccable service starting at the parking garage, getting our luggage up to our room. Nolan, you are the man! Our suite was very nice. Definitely family friendly. Whether you’re staying here for a family vacation or bachelor party just talk to the doorman he knows what’s up and has a pulse on the city! Location is definitely at the front gate of the city for whatever activity you may want to do. The service at the carousel lounge was definitely top-notch and accommodating as well. Security is ever present.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of New Orleans. Very clean rooms, beautiful decor, and staff was pleasant and friendly. I did not give 5 stars simply because of the parking attendants. After a recent convention there, they had several people leaving at once (and patrons not attending the event) requesting cars. We were the first ones to ask and almost the last in the group to have our car brought down. When we asked, the attendant was rude and acted annoyed we were asking. For $48 a night to park your car, it would seem the hotel could plan better and be better staffed at the beginning and ending of event times.

On vacation, beat my friends into town so I stopped here because it seemed a little nicer than walking further down Bourbon. Super attentive (and attractive!) wait staff, tried to local drinks (Sazerac) and some local beers, ended up bringing my friends back later. The crowd was good with a solid ambience and some college football to watch. Will stop by if I'm in town again.

Great atmosphere! We sat at the oyster bar and made new friends! Fantastic raw oysters (but that's a NOLA given), gigantic steamed shrimp. Great place to rest and refresh. The menu item is pretty much the same as everywhere else, but you can pick out lighter options if you need a break from the fried and smothered.

We didn't have a reservation so we had to wait an hour 1/2. The service was great, the bread and oysters were amazing, we also ordered the crab cake and the crab stuffed fish we didn't like it at all. The waiter had it removed from our check that was nice. It wasn't worth the wait for us.

Ordered their smothered chicken plate to go. One of the best smothered chicken plates I've ever tasted. And we were lucky to get it. When we got there dinner had not started. They were still serving lunch. But one of the chefs was nice enough to let us order their smothered chicken plate. And it was outstanding. The chicken was made perfectly. Tender, moist, plenty of flavor, well seasoned. The gravy was just as delicious. It made for a great combination. Two thumbs up for the smothered chicken plate.

The inside of the restaurant was very clean and the staff very helpful. Again I appreciate the Shelf willing to take in order from their dinner menu before dinner actually started.

Cons - I waited a while for someone to finally come serve me (He was pretty fast though). I get the char broiled oysters and ads the crab meat, I wouldn't recommend them here. They tasted fishy and I had a lot of crumbled oyster shell parts in my oysters. There was very little crab meat for the extra price they charge. I got no napkins, until I asked.
Pros - Food did come out pretty quick. The Riesling here was sweet, which I like. The crab fingers were actually pretty good.

Very Popular even in November means crowded in the morning. The coffee is good and the Beignets are great. Prices are reasonable,

Excellent place to chill for a while found in the midst of the craziness of bourbon street. Beignets and the coffee are great. Live music when we were there. Worth a check out.
01.12.2017 Bill
1984! The beignets are delicious - served hot, crunchy around the edges, and smothered in powdered sugar. Staff are attentive and kind. Prices are inflated but the French quarter caters to tourists, so that's to be expected. Make sure to clap for the guitarist and leave the staff a big tip!!
25.11.2017 Daniel
Lovely open courtyard with live music but don't come if looking for friendly helpful service
24.11.2017 simonali6819
Live music in the courtyard is great, but the service at the cafe and the bar next door left a lot to be desired. Went twice, but quickly left the second time as there was no table service and I didn't relish being served by the abrupt barman who pours you a drink in about 5 seconds and then tells you to leave his tip in a bucket on the bar...

My family had a wonderful visit. Everything we tried was delicious. The staff were exceptionally great with my 2 1/2 year old which isn’t always the case in a nice restaurant. Too often they assume kids are going to ruin other peoples experience so I appreciate it when a place will give my kid a chance and we all enjoy a delicious meal.
09.12.2017 Henrique
I came for lunch, on a Saturday, at about 2pm. I was alone and it took about 5min to get a seat. The special lunch menu is a must! You get all Antoine's experience and atmosphere for a budget price. They don't have espresso, but my waiter ran next doors an got one for me! Wow, I would give 6 start if I could.

Exactly what it's supposed to be. Celebrated wedding anniversary and they greeted us with congratulations. Simple reservation process on open table. December Rebellion menu was great. Servers made the night. Several photo ops for great memories. Do the whole experience. Oysters Rockefeller, devil's coffee, and look around. Great history. Must do.
13.11.2017 Paul
Like eating in a cool museum! The lunch special is awesome and comes with 25cent cocktails. Since we arrived early, our waiter, Armour, showed us around and told us about the really cool history of this place. We’ve walked past this place hundreds of times, but never ate there before. But because Armour nicely greeted us as we walked past and asked if we knew how interesting this restaurant was we decided to try it. Now we’ll be back every year (well, as long as Amour’s still there anyway ?). What a fun lunch today!

One of the best experiences while we were in New Orleans! We did the $20.17 autumn lunch special which was fabulous and so many great samplings of their local specialties. Our waiter Winchester and his assistant Randolph were awesome and made everything so enjoyable. Randolph gave us a great tour of the restaurant after our meal, and the history is so fascinating! Everything about it was great, especially the value of what we got compared to what we spent! Must do when in New Orleans!! Can't wait to come back next time!
