Sonder Chambers in New York

Starting off with the good the location is excellent. Very convenient and plenty of places to eat at nearby. The aesthetic is also nice but that's were my enjoyment ends. The bed is incredibly stiff here with pillows that have no support. The AC is in need of maintenance as every time it starts up it's incredibly loud. We had no hot water our first night so it was speedy ice cold shower after an exhausting travel day. On the topic of the shower it's one of those single glass pane styles so plenty of water ends up all over the floor outside of the shower. We also had our sheets replaced one day with a stained set which service took two days to replace despite making a request for a new set. All in all not a 4 star experience and did not command the price tag. Probably won't do a sonder location again despite usually enjoying Marriott properties.

This hotel went BANKRUPT!!!! Do NOT make any new reservations!!!!! My reservation made in October got apparently cancelled and refunded without any notice, so I got here just to find out standing right in front of the hotel that they are closed!! I called them before to ask some questions about my reservation, I could never get to speak to anyone but their “new reservations” option is still open and making new bookings (??) so DONT!!! I am not sure how they are doing this! While I was standing in front of their door closed other customers arrived clueless just like us! And we had to book another hotel!

Wonderful hotel, but no direct phone to contact them. Have multiple messages in about an item we peft behind, and no one will get back to us. even sent them a label to ship it, and have not heard a thing. Would really like it if someone could contact us directly. Our reservation was 926103

The room and bathroom were clean. The shower was wonderful except that the water would splash and get the area in front of the toilet very wet. The shower didn't have a door, and the shower mat wasn't enough. 2nd night was extremely loud in the hallway. Later, I realized that the cleaning crew was using one of the rooms as a room to rest and take naps. The front desk said that was not the case, but that was not what I witnessed. I was super disappointed by that. The cafe downstairs doesn't open till 11 am on Sundays. It was another turn off. When traveling, Sunday is not much different than other days, and you need your coffee when you wake up. Yes, the room had coffee, but that was not what I consider morning coffee. The last thing is the price. I was expecting a much better experience for spending more than $1000 for two nights.
