Stayed on the busiest weekend of the Christmas period and yet managed to get a reasonably priced room that was a good size for the 4 of us. The decor is lovely and the bed sheets soft, clean and the beds are very comfortable.

On a less positive note light sleepers could have a problem with the outside noise and the noise from neighbours above and below. Our room was at the very end of the corridor so people passing wasn't an issue. The desk light and built in charger in the desk had had a temporary fix with an extension lead as the plug had stopped working, small detail but tells me that the management aren't on top of the maintenance and general upkeep. Carpet cleaning wasn't great either as the corners were very dusty. We were in New York for 5 days and 3 of those days had events going on the in the restaurant and bar so we never got to try the restaurant or bar during our stay which was a shame but was just before Christmas I guess.

Reception staff were efficient and most of the them friendly, unfortunately check in involved what I like to call "efficient unfriendly" staff, someone who knows their job inside out and tends to role out the usual answers without caring too much. However one receptionist recommended the bar/restaurant over the road called The crooked knife which was wonderful.

The location of the Redbury is great and we walked everywhere which was nice not having to take the Metro. Starbucks just around the corner for breakfast was lovely, although in NY you turn a corner and there's another Starbucks so that's not saying much really.

The positives far outweigh the negatives, just thought I would mention them though, we really enjoyed our stay at the Redbury and will definitely be back

This place has a lot of charm. The decor and overall vibe is historic New York meets modern day. There is wallpaper around that calls to yesterday. The artwork in the room is cute. There is a bar and restaurant on site. There are multiple entrances which is helpful depending on how you arrive. The staff were welcoming on arrival and departure. The low rating is because it advertises as a 4 star hotel and charges as such (There was even a resort/services fee despite not offering free meal, internet, etc) but I am not sure why. I didn't see much in the way of luxury items (except the toiletries...Beekman is nice). The room is too small. If you have a queen or king bed you're practically touching all of the walls. The bathrooms were nice but didn't have a tub. There aren't blackout curtains or a smart TV. Many of the rooms don't have a special view.

I really wanted to like this hotel. I even changed hotels the day before so I could stay here. It looked pretty, cozy and chic online. Well...unfortunately it wasn't. The hotel lobby is nice, and so are the two restaurants inside. That said, my mother and I were aghast at the room condition. Bumpy carpets, loud unruly air conditioning, uncomfortable beds, dreary lodging/hallways. But what really annoyed us was: no hot water for tea, no cups for drinking, no counter space, no fast service (even in an emergency) and bad communication with staff. I called at 6:38AM for ice for my swollen foot, and at 7:27AM, I still had no ice; despite calling several times and upon my mother leaving for LGA and asking directly at the lobby on her way out. At 7:30AM, I hobbled to the nearby Starbucks and got ice. One of the restaurants also gave me ice because I couldn't count on the staff communication. Further, when I arrived- they gave me a hotel room next to a deranged tenant who duck taped negative messages all over her front door. My first room also had an impossibly small bathroom. That was the first impression. Then, they moved me to another room, where there was no counter space and my mother and I had to put our items on the floor. Yes, the floor. It was just a weird old aka "historic" hotel that shouldn't have tenants and should be updated (yes, beyond the lobby!). Moreover, the hotel should have better communications between the phone concierge and the lobby...especially in emergencies. For $250 a night, I don't recommend this NYC hotel. :/

This is my second time staying. The restaurants are good and service wonderful. My room last time was amazing, although a little loud due to the proximity to the street/bar across the street.

This visit I requested a room with a larger desk so I could work. They were accommodating. Sadly the room is very dark, even with all of the lights on. It sounds like there is a Subway train under my bathroom and the floor vibrates! The bed is saggy but not totally uncomfortable. It is a quieter room than last time, but not as comfortable.

Overall the location and food are worth the stay, but I will mention these issues and hope they put more light sources in the room and fix the bedding.

The hotel is in a great location near multiple subway lines but closest to the #6. Nicely decorated, pleasant staff. At the time of our stay, the Redbury was able to arrange parking at a nearby garage for a discount under regularly charged rates. We didn’t eat at Marta unfortunately but the smells from the restaurant were always inviting, and there was lots of activity into the evening. We didnt have any disturbing noises from the street so our sleep was never disturbed. Recommended!

Nice red walls. Small rooms. Nothing is included. Bed was uncomfortable and worn. There's no telling when your room will be cleaned. Nice staff. Although someone did walk into my room without knocking. Great decor. Great location.

A very clean hotel with a restaurant in the lower East side. I didn't spend the night here however, the vibe I got from just visiting the hotel was very positive. The bathroom on the ground floor was elegantly done and it seemed like they were constantly cleaning. Nice reception, hopefully can spend the night there one day.

Staff gave us five star treatment. Excellent complimentary gourmet coffee every morning. Room upgrade with empire state building view. Nice complimentary champagne for hubs bday. Great location. Great vibe.

Having stayed in many NYC hotels I will definitely be back to visit the Redbury. This trip we were wedding dress hunting and they sent us a bottle of bubbly when we checked in making extra special. It is a non-tipping hotel FYI. The staff was courteous and the entire place was super clean. We had a suite and a 2 bed room. I would only recommend adding another mirror in the suite. Other than that...I would highly recommend you stay at the Redbury when in NYC.

Loved my stay here staff were great the room so lovely ... I was in.a single room and it met all my expectations... only issue I had was with check in.... the hotel don't cater for a chip and pin system ... my card was declined a few times which was ridiculous... I had to get a friend from NJ to come to NYC to secure my room so word of warning! Other than that I would recommend the hotel great location as well

Good espresso and great drip. Quiet at 9am but very busy between 4-5pm. It is possible to work there.

Very good coffee. A little small but a pretty good vibe. No internet to do work, even though was told otherwise.

Great shop, good coffee, cozy and open vibe. I got a latte and the espresso is strong and milk was perfect.

This place is great for a casual meeting, date, or just some studying or work. I love there little conversation starter board. Very creative idea and just what this world needs, more friendly/non-social media means of connecting.

Great coffee and a cool atmosphere. There are several locations throughout NYC. This location has always been crowded when I came in (around 1:00pm) but I’m sure you could find a table if you wait around. They have icebreakers if you want to meet new people!

The ricotta kale and spinach croissant was great as well as the almond croissant! The black iced tea was also good. No WiFi.

Excellent place to eat!! One of the best barbecue spots around and the atmosphere is also very pleasant. We ordered the Pork shoulder, brisket, mac and cheese, pork and beans. So delicious and the barbecue chips were to die for!

No question a bit commercialized but this is new York. I don't think anyone would leave unhappy and many will be delighted. It's not Hill Country but its commercial. You won't get great brisket, that's all. For that you simply must go to Hill Country
29.11.2017 Steve
Our family from Utah recommended this place. So thankful we took up their recommendation. EVERYTHING was good. Brisket, Mac & Cheese, salads, cornbread, Season cheesecake was crazy good. You must come. It's life changing.
20.11.2017 Jennifer
I used to frequent this place often for lunch as it was close to my office and my coworkers were big fans. For lunch, I've gotten the crispy chicken or the beef brisket sandwich. To be honest, I didn't think the sandwiches were that great. Both the chicken and beef brisket were dry and they weren't flavorful. I've also tried their beef brisket entree for dinner which I think tastes better than the sandwich. But overall I think this BBQ place is just alright. It's a bit overrated for what it is.

We visited this place on our second and last night in NYC as our apartment was across the road. It did not disappoint. Great service from all the staff! And the food was to perfection! Very impressed
