Staff was friendly. Check-in was easy. I arrived very early and was allowed to store my bags at no charge. Area was safe and quiet. Lots of dining and cafe options. Duane Reade is close. About a minute walk to grand central. Room was much bigger than I expected, not crowded at all. Very clean. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was updated/modern with lots of counter space. Very highly recommend, will stay again.

The hotel is a little tired, but outstanding for the price. The bathroom was fully renovated and the bed comfortable. Need new carpets, window and wall treatments. Would 100% stay there again. Love the location, the pub downstairs and great service.

The front desk staff was extremely friendly, accommodating and efficient upon check in. The negatives were garbage and empty champagne bottles littering the hallway adjacent to my room. The headboard on the bed was scratched and could use updating. The room itself was clean.

The Fitzpatrick is a very old school NY hotel - the rooms are old fashioned but dead quiet. It was a pleasure to stay there. Location is ideal - right next to Grand Central. Staff was lovely.

No breakfast. Property is seeing a little wear. Had to get a room change due to the bed being extremely soft.

This hotel was very convenient to Grand Central Station. Easily walkable to the theater district. Both the room and bath were very spacious. The bed was super comfy.

So it started with the resort fee being different than what ******* publishes. No big deal it was just a few dollars more per day but still it would be best if it was accurate.
Then after checking in we went into a room to find a guest in his underwear watching tv. Wrong room? No , they assigned us to an occupied room.
We were then assigned to another room and the ac was inadequate . We flagged it and the staff tried to reset it to see if it improves but we were so tired we will just lived with it for now. After the second night the ac stopped working altogether. They didn’t have an alternate room. And the portable ac they provided did not have an exhaust tube to get hot sit out of the room. So it couldn’t be used.
When we checked out after the third night , we relayed our experience to the staff who, in truth , were always gracious and tried to be helpful but could not really solve the issue . The manager on duty apologized and volunteered to provide a 50% refund off the bill. To date which is two weeks later, we have not seen it.

The room wasn't large, but it had everything you needed.
The decor had a strong old-money style, and it was very comfortable for one person.
The hotel's location was good, quiet yet convenient, and very close to Grant Central subway station (Lexington Ave. & 42nd Str exit), making it easy to get around.

By the way, I recommend a restaurant called Little Collins next to the hotel. Just turn left after exiting the hotel, turn left at the first traffic light, and you'll see it (it's a 2-3 minute walk). It's a popular brunch spot for locals; if you go at 10 am, you'll have to wait about 20 minutes, but the food is really good.

Location good and decent size room. However the lobby area was musty and dated and the adjoining bar/lounge has had its day (no one there most of the time). Haphazard service.

The Fitzpatrick Grand Central is lovely hotel in a good location. The reception staff were very helpful.
The only gripe, was there were no proper cups in the room for Coffee/Tea, just paper and no glasses. Also, had to ask for tea bags and were not topped up daily.
Would still come here again.

I'm from the West Coast, so I only come here on business travel, but this is the only place I eat when staying at the Grand Hyatt (just upstairs). West Coast flights don't arrive any earlier than 4pm, so I have only done dinner here, and usually not before 7pm. I have been here at least two dozen times since 2000.

The seafood is always fresh, and the menu variety is huge. They do run out of a few things by 7pm, but I have never had to resort to my third choice, ever.

The best option is the four horseshoe tables in the middle that seat about 20 people each on barstools---the server HAS to walk past you all the time, so there is never any frustration wondering where he/she is. Yes, there are some characters, but never rude.

This place mostly serves commuters waiting on their trains, so nobody hangs out much after their meal is over. That frees up seats.

It isn't cheap, but it isn't as expensive as most seafood joints in midtown. Good value and you won't leave hungry.

It is historic, and that is a plus. They have a very old seafood stew bar that uses piped steam to make seafood stews from fresh ingredients that you choose in four different copper/brass vessels right on the bar. Very Old School, and very delicious.

Something for everyone!

The seeded crackers and soda rolls are absolutely unique and delicious!

Grand Central was so busy that I thought there would be no way we could get into a restaurant. We walked up to the Oyster Bar and it is so big that there were a few options. We tried the first main seating section and it was full, then there were a few scattered seats at the bars but not two together. We went to the Saloon and while still very busy the host found us a table without any wait. This is a noisy place so if you're looking for a quiet place to talk, try elsewhere but it's a great group gathering. I ordered the jumbo shrimp with steamed herbed potatoes and they were all yummy! My husband had the clam chowder and an appetizer. While not the best old fashioned cocktails we've ever had it was still good and I'd gladly return. It hosts a melting pot of people and I felt like this Colorado girl was definitely in NYC!

Always great. The menu is awesome, so much to choose from. I just love the space and the staff is always good. Oysters are always a must along with the clam chowder. My broiled arctic char was super fresh.

The interior and atmosphere is indeed great. Feels like an iconic place. But on my opinion clam chowder was very average. Selection of oysters was decent on the menu, they did not have half of what I order though. Service could have been better, takes ages for a waiter to come.

Nice ambiance very quaint and unexpected in the middle of grand central! I sat at the bar and only wanted oysters.. my waiter said no problem and gave me an assortment from all over.. they were so fresh and tasty ...I'm glad I made the trip. Will definitely go many times again!

Update:
On 7/1/17 I had to bring my parents visiting from Florida here!!! We had such an awesome time!!! Muhammad was our server and he went above and beyond to provide world class service! This my favorite place for oysters in NY and the lobster was amazing!

Had to have come from a can. Had the tell-tale metallic aftertaste.
Campbells is superior.

Ordered the lobster bisque, was a squash soup with lobster flavoring, very little lobster flavoring, and no lobster meat. When brought back to the counter (full except 1 spoon taste) was told no exchange. Very disappointed.

Good, fast service with tasty food. Too bad I got sick from eating a salad. (i think the food is not kept cool enough as the server complained to me that hot air was blowing on her.)

Who's have thought this place would turn into a club at 11pm on a Friday. Stopped in for a quick drink on a Friday night after walking back from a show to our nearby hotel and the place was packed. We were hoping for a quiet place to have a nightcap... This definitely was not it.

The bartenders were nice enough. Eventually they brought around tube shots. That was the only table service we got though. I'm assuming their kitchen must close around 10pm.

Nice old fashion Irish bar with a nice menu. Appetizers ,dinner or just drinks along with plenty of televisions to view your favorite team. Nice staff, restaurant and restrooms very clean. Music by the bar is not to loud crowd nice. Plenty of happy hour specials. They have some burgers of gigantic proportions, try the one in between a grilled cheese sandwich. I did not have it but soon Will. Great appetizers

Loved it. Had tea here twice. 1st time was the best. 2nd was not so good waitress was on her own but can't complain

This is the best place in town on game days if you are a Buffalo Bills fan. They have drink specials and the game on all the screens.

Went for a Michigan game. Had fun. Amazing steak. But then one of the bouncers (not the great big guy; the shorter one) was a complete jerk after I came out. A real bully. Won't come here again.
