Reviews
Once we were able to get settled in our room I loved how it was designed, styled, and furnished. Little touches go a long way. Big beautiful windows overlooking the city. Sexy bathroom and open shower right next to bed, definitely creates a vibe ✨️. Mirrors everywhere for all the views ☺️
My only complaint would be the first night our shower handle was malfunctioning. We couldn't get the water to get warm, but my fiance was able to fix it temporarily. Maintenance came by later the next day to fix it, but it was when we popped back in the room to change for the evening. We came back and the shower handle had been taken apart and part of it was in the sink.
That would've been great but we had not mentioned to the front desk that it was faulty, which leads me to believe they already knew it had an issue...but it got fixed so thats all that really matters.
Overall our stay was wonderful, the room and hotel were goregous. The Standard is an experiecne!
First, we paid a lot of money for this stay, and not a single penny was worth it. For the price, the experience was unacceptable.
From the moment we arrived, the staff’s attitude was passive-aggressive, rude, and unwelcoming. You couldn’t ask a simple question without being treated like a burden. Front desk interactions were especially unpleasant and dismissive.
Room service was a complete disaster. The food arrived cold, hard, and barely edible. We ordered a steak cooked medium and it came cold and raw, which is unacceptable.
The room itself was dirty, and the bathroom was filthy. This was extremely concerning, especially since we were traveling with two babies. Cleanliness should be a bare minimum, and it clearly was not.
One of the most upsetting moments was when I asked the front desk for water. Instead of any understanding, they rudely said there were “two complimentary waters on top of the fridge.” At our previous stays, this was never an issue. This time, it felt like I had to beg for basic necessities, which is unacceptable when staying with children.
On our last two stays, we were given breakfast vouchers, which should be in their history. When I asked about this, I was met with attitude and looks as if I was making something up.
The entire experience felt hostile, unsanitary, and unprofessional. The quality, service, and cleanliness have declined drastically, and this hotel no longer lives up to its name or price.
If you’re considering staying here especially with children I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This visit was a complete waste of money.
From the front desk team, concierge, porters, maintenance, security, doormen, to the incredible housekeepers and cleaning staff, every single person was lovely. It genuinely felt like this hotel hires not just for skill, but for heart. The HR and hiring team deserves recognition! NYC needs more hospitality professionals like the ones working here. Truly the most polite and loving staff in New York.
The only minor downside was the entrance experience, there was no one available to help us with our luggage upon arrival. But aside from that small detail, everything was excellent.
Thank you, The Standard, for a memorable stay and for setting such a beautiful example of what hospitality should look like. I will absolutely be back!
The rooms are sleek, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, offering comfort, elegance, and all the modern amenities you could need. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the bathrooms are pristine, and the attention to detail in the room design enhances the overall experience.
One of the standout features of The Standard is its restaurant and nightlife scene. The rooftop bar offers spectacular views, great cocktails, and a lively ambiance, perfect for socializing or relaxing after a day of exploring the city. The in-house dining options are also top-notch, providing delicious meals with excellent service.
The staff at The Standard are professional, friendly, and always attentive, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and well taken care of. Whether you need concierge assistance, room service, or recommendations for exploring NYC, they go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.
I highly recommend The Standard, High Line to anyone visiting New York City. It’s perfect for those looking for luxury, style, comfort, and a prime location near attractions, shopping, and the city’s vibrant culture. Staying here is more than just a hotel stay it’s an experience you won’t forget.
