Loved the location and cleanliness of the property. Very modern decor with great ambiance. Highly recommend staying at this hotel!

GREAT location. Variable smells in the lobby (trash wafting in?)
Weird/annoying that bathroom for lobby is locked up on 2nd floor.
minus 1 star b/c it said "free drinks and snacks" but it was free drink (water) and snack (1 chocolate bar) But I paid for 5 nights, I should get 5 drinks and 5 snacks
Also, I'm allergic to eucalyptus and they didn't have other options for soap, lotion, etc except baby stuff.
no door to toilet so only 1 person could use the bathroom/shower/sinks at a time unless you are ok with the other people in the room

Stayed one night with hubby and it was nice. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, big (move around comfortably), and pretty quiet as was the lobby and parts of the hotel I saw. I would consider staying here again.

Great location, confusing check-in area, but wonderful and accommodating evening staff. Morning staff during breakfast rush wasn’t as pleasant (5/6), but oh well. Room was clean, spacious, and the bed was firm yet comfortable. Didn’t love being able to hear my hotel neighbor on their 7am work call, though. Enjoyed the complimentary amenities, especially the 5-8pm wine hour in the lobby.
Breakfast was hearty and delicious. Would’ve loved more available booth seating in the restaurant. The wooden table top seating was not comfortable. Received good service from staff at the restaurant. All in all, a pleasant experience.

Overall, the property is a great choice for a short stay. It's centrally located, and the room is modern, spacious, and offers a beautiful view. A major highlight was the exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows. The building itself is very modern, though the lobby tends to be busy, making it difficult to find a quiet spot at times. That said, the staff truly go above and beyond with their service. A nice bonus was the complimentary sparkling water available on the first floor, along with regular bottled water provided upon request. All in all, a great hotel experience.

Great stay as usual, this is my go-to Hyatt in midtown as they treat Globalists well. The mattresses and pillows are fantastic. The fitness center is well considered with plenty of weight and cardio options (although dumbbells only go up to 50 lbs). And breakfast is a little more creative than your typical hotel breakfast, which I really appreciate. Finally, almost all the staff interactions are top notch, especially the front desk. And who doesn’t love the coffee in the lobby in the morning and the wine hour in the evening? The rooms and design is aging well, but may need a modest refresh soon.

The Andaz on 5th in NY is not a luxury hotel. It failed to be luxurious. Our room needed a make over; like old, stained, sofa and two ancient looking pillows. The sofa looks so dingy, that we really didn’t want to sit on it.
Though the living room area is spacious, there is no rug or any details to warm up the room.
Service did not replace tea mugs daily. Service did not replace water bottles daily. Service did not replace wine or snacks daily. Bedroom AC temp did not match living space temp, one was warm one was super cold. No fold down night service with fresh towels. Patio furniture was filthy. Hallway was freezing!!!! You needed a coat to walk to elevator. Cool bar? Children everywhere! Not cool. For $1300 a night, I was disappointed.

I booked this hotel online - put my desired dates into the online booking form, selected the room type and rate, confirmed the booking. Then immediately after booking I realized the online form had changed the dates I had put in originally, so the booking confirmation was for the wrong dates. I called the hotel customer service number and they were ZERO help, saying that the rate was non-refundable and no changes were allowed…even though they could tell I had literallt just made the booking 2 minutes prior. But then the lady (Jen) told me I could book for the correct nights at DOUBLE THE PRICE - over $800 a night. All because Hyatt’s online form made the error and it was truly not on the user’s end. I am also a Hyatt member but no longer. They will not let me cancel the reservation and are giving me zero other options besides an insane rate. Will never stay with Hyatt ever again.
