The location of this hotel is fantastic - at least, in part. It’s close to DuPont Circle, in an area that felt safe and clean (albeit expensive). However, there is a bar/comedy club in the basement so just be aware of that. The main issue, for me, was that the rooms are really pretty bad. I did check the beds for bedbugs when I got there, as I had read another review that complained about this. I didn’t find anything. The linens were clean and smelled good. But the room itself desperately needed renovation. I did have to kill some sort of bug that was climbing on the wall. With that being said - I understand it’s a cheaper hotel. What really sealed the deal for me is that the WiFi is awful. I could not work and had to relocate. Overall - if you’re on a tight budget, I would recommend it. However, if you can stretch the wallet a bit more I would suggest trying to find something nicer that’s a bit further out and just use the metro. Or find an AirBnB, possibly.

A complete and utter dump. The rooms are sparsely decorated. We found a centipede on the wall. It isn't old and quaint; it's old and icky. The worst part was the service. I reserved rooms with the hotel itself a month in advance and PAID FOR THEM. We had four rooms. Three required double beds because they were to house four college students each. When we arrived, we were told there were no double rooms available. The Desk clerk shrugged and said that we picked a bad time to visit. The result: people had to sleep on the floor. What's more, we had to fight just to get our charges reduced from double rooms to all queen beds. There was no restitution and not even an apology. In addition, the hotel is unkempt. Bags of garbage, spare linens and assorted boxes are piled in sight of the lobby. It is a total dive, and I am astounded that some people have rated it as highly as they have. For the price, it is a rip off.

Last modernised when Lincoln was President, but I liked the place. Old world charm. Elevator a bit ropey, but clean and functional. Good price for DC. Bar in hotel , but Liqour store round corner.
Handy for Subway and the sights

Stay here 3 nights. The hotel is good located, to a "walking" distance to all of the point of interest, and also the subway.
So, okay, the room are quite old, but mine at least was renovated and in pretty good shape. For the price, it defenitely worst it.

I never leave reviews for stuff but I just had to with this place. Our room was absolutely disgusting. The carpet was filthy, the walls had stains on them from god knows what, the bed sheets were dirty, and the bathroom was tiny and not updated whatsoever. Everything felt dirty and I could not wait to leave. Please don’t stay here if you are even remotely concerned with cleanliness.

Desk person specifically said specialty coffees like mocha and latte were available for room service but that was false. We were charged for a valet parking night we never used; that's uncool. Also the bar needs better beer. Finally, $6.60 for mini bar Coke! The prices here were outrageous, I feel like all they wanted was my money and not provide good service.

Overall a good hotel to stay. Some of the staffs are very very helpful. A few are a bit cold though. Great location. Good service. Satisfactory and safe.

Not luxurious, but clean and attractive and reasonably priced. There is no laziness service but there is a dry cleaner and a laundrette around the corner along with veros shops and cafes. I also like the location. Very green with a beautiful church opposite and only a 20 minute walk from The White House and everywhere else.

These guys! Kicked my wife out today saying they haven't got her room anymore.....she booked 3 months in advance, and the best part, I can go online right now and book 5 rooms in this hotel. These people are absolutely full of it. Do not use them, don't ever go to this place. A huge mess around in the middle of a busy work trip.

Don't get me wrong. I would have given them 5 stars for organising another hotel, and trying to help out.......BUT THEY HAVE 5 EMPTY ROOMS YOU CAN BOOK RIGHT NOW.......

Hotel staff was rude and unhelpful. Me and my parents, seniors, had a 4th floor room. Upon arrival, all we needed was a little help opening the elevator's door (as it is an old one) to get our luggage inside it, but we got nothing but a raised-eyebrow stare and giggles.

Other than that, the hotel has a great location and an overall vintage ambiance. Hotel rooms were decent, although some furniture were dated. Breakfast was not included and was terrible.

Me likey. Food was fantastic. Easily accommodated weird food restrictions. Weren't perturbed by children, had kid menu and bake-your-own cookie activity. Waiter Rachel was extremely helpful and my beer never ran dry. Definitely going back.

Was there with family for Christmas Eve brunch. My polenta with spinach, mushrooms, and poached eggs was savory and filling. We all enjoyed our meals. Service was quick and friendly.

The truffle fries are amazing!! I wanted to order two of them. And the bartender Brendan is amazing! His drinks are superb. Definitely will come back.

Firefly has a few strikes against them and it's warranted. First off, it's a restaurant in a hotel. Secondly, it's only three stars on Yelp. Finally, their main selling point is a giant tree in the middle of the restaurant. Enough said.

I met the CEO of the Muse here for a small group discussion about the future of work. We had a small back room reserved that was very quiet. The service was fast and hands on, but the food was just okay. I ordered the pumpkin soup (which was the stand out dish of the lunch) and a reuben that was mediocre.

If you're a hotel guest, there's worst places to dine, but in a city full of top restaurants, I'd spend time researching other options.

A small and interestingly-decorated concept restaurant attached to a boutique hotel within convenient walking distance from the DuPont Circle Metro stop. The food is slightly on the pricier side, but absolutely delicious and the service was very friendly. The menu is comprised of inventive and seasonal dishes - definitely try the pumpkin cheesecake french toast! There's a taste for every palate and the atmosphere of the restaurant is fun and unique. Definitely would recommend!
