It is a Hilton, but not as nice as others you may have experienced because it is seriously dated. For starters, just let me say we had a fine time, but we had to acclimate to the reality of the claim that the hotel was conveniently right between two metro stops - it really isn't. You can walk to the Dupont Circle with little to no trouble, but walking back is up hill all the way which could cause trouble for some. Second, the room is really small and had a very old beat up stand alone refrigerator that I think I had in my dorm in the 80s that was set up on the floor next to the dresser. Frankly they should have been ashamed to have that in a Hilton room. The cleaning staff was really nice and helpful and could teach a thing or two to the staff of the "Starbucks" which was not at all a Starbucks - it was a Hilton cofee stand that served Starbucks. There is no reason to not stay here if you get a good rate, but just don't expect too much.

As a Hilton Honors member I trust the Hilton Quality standards worldwide and never had so far a disappointing experience until now.
The Washington Hilton is well located and the overall facility is nice. But the level of cleanness on the floors is below average, and for the very first time I see the housekeeping just putting fresh towels in the room and a plastic bag with coffee supplies, without doing literally anything. This is simply not acceptable and doesn't correspond the Hilton standards. Also the room service is a Fastfood delivery in plastic bags and paper boxes. Again, I haven't seen such a thing in any other Hilton. On top of it, they charge obligatory $25,- per day for hotel consumption, regardless if used or not.
Overall a very disappointing experience.
The front desk staff and the Concierge were very friendly and professional, therefore the upgrade of the service stars.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Hilton Washington. The bed is very comfortable with high-quality bedding, which made for a great night’s sleep. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The gym is spacious and well equipped; although some of the equipment is a bit outdated, it still works well and gets the job done. Overall, a very nice hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice and elegant hotel with full facilities inside, including a restaruant, a bar, a coffee shop/grocery, and even gift shop. Would come to stay here again if come back to Washington.

Location is about 15 min walk to Metro station but if you are driving it is difficult to get out of there in rush hour traffic. Room is quite small, aircon was very noisy and woke me up in the wee hour of the night. Parking is outrageous, $56 per day. They give you a $25 voucher to spend in their shops but the prices are steep.

I arrived a bit earlier, but my room was not ready. Okay, I can understand that.
Going to the bell desk they tell me I need to pay when I get my luggage. Once I got my luggage, no one asked me to pay.
I had a breakfast included but was leaving too early: of course, they do not provide lunch boxes, although they do sell them.
The service is rather bad for a 300$ room.

I booked the $200 high-floor king room because the $100+ twin room was shown as fully booked. However, when I arrived at the hotel, I was told that the king room was unavailable and only the twin room was left.

This hotel charges an extra twenty five dollars per day, that was never announced when i was booking. You can spend it on food, however, the food is priced due to three times higher than the same food just outside. Since this bill is not attached to the room rate, it's not reimburseable.

Next, there are people drinking alcohol in the bar and in the hallways all hours of night. Even at three ami could hear people yelling and screaming and fighting. There was alcohol and vomit in the elevators.

The hotel is a ten to twelve minute walk to the nearest subway station, and there are a few to no taxis available.

Food was good but I didn't realize it was very large family style portions. Threw me for a loop when my small pizza and small salad were enough to feed several people. Regardless they were both excellent.

Food was authentic Italian, prepared perfectly and portions were phenomenal. Would go to again with family or friends. Date night here with you and a date will lead to instant sleep following, even small entree portions were enough for 2 people.....

The pizza and the tiramisu are amazing, but overall Buca misses the mark on some traditional Italian dishes such as Lasagna and spaghetti Bolognese.

The food overall is pretty good. But be careful with extra chargers. They like to charge you $10 for a 6 sticks of asparagus. I enjoyed the servies! But when in the end you get your check.. well be ready for some extras you won't be told about. This is something that's definitely brings your mood down.

Loved we could order our favorite drinks from France here. Panache and Pernod. We got the steak frites. The steak was really juicy and the Béarnaise sauce is the best! They left the seasoning (dry rub) on the steak which was overpowering, but we scrapped it off. I haven’t had escargot in a while but theirs seemed a little earthy to me and at $12.99 for 6 I would forgo it next time. For dessert we had the poached pear, which seemed like a 6 year olds concoction. Cold canned pear? Ice cream, whip cream, chocolate syrup and rainbow sprinkles in a martini glass.

We went on a Monday evening. The place wasn't crowded, the service helpful but gave us time to talk and eat. The food was good and the house wine excellent. We'd happily return.

Fantastic steak, great service. Loved the very cultivated and surprisingly authentic atmosphere and interior details. I went around 2:00pm and it was not that busy. The server actually spoke French, which I thought was very cool.
