A seamless and relaxing stay. The check-in process was smooth, the room was perfectly prepared, and the atmosphere throughout the property was welcoming. Staff demonstrated professionalism and genuine hospitality. Every aspect of the visit reflected high standards and careful management.

We were at the Poppy last weekend. The accommodations were suitable and the staff and proprietors were agreeable and helpful. Even though it is a small hotel, it has a serviceable lobby/common area where we enjoyed talking with my brother and his wife over drinks and had breakfast the next morning. As for location, the Poppy is in very walkable proximity to Embassy Row, aka Massachusetts Avenue, and to Dumbarton Oaks, one of Washington’s hidden gems. We would enjoy staying there in the future.

Stayed 4 nights at this beautiful hotel and couldn't have made a better choice - would definitely stay again. I'd describe it as a small hotel with quaint B&B vibes. The room was a better than average hotel room - practical but classy - but the common areas are what make it most special: the great patio in the front (perfect breakfast spot) and the beautiful patio and gardens in the back (for the evening wind down) - and even the lobby/kitchen area is cute and home-y. The design and decor is all on point and impressively, doesn't sacrifice practicality at all. Would definitely recommend for couples and friends groups especially.

I had such a wonderful stay at this hotel in Washington! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived. I especially want to mention a very kind and helpful gentleman who worked there – he made my experience even better with his friendliness and professionalism.
The hotel also offered so many delicious treats, which made my stay feel extra special. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. I truly enjoyed my time here and would be happy to come back again. Highly recommend!

Charm. Decor. Location. Comfort. Service. Affordability. Vibes. All 10/10. Absolutely adored this place and immediately felt at home. If you want a boutique hotel crossed with a B&B experience in Georgetown but still “off the beaten path”, look no further. This 👏🏻 is 👏🏻 your 👏🏻 place!!! As a professional traveler who works in the travel industry and travels A LOT, I can definitely say this is one of the best hotels that I have ever visited.

Can’t wait to come back soon.

Brilliant Boutique Style hotel with fantastic service courtesy of Nico Wroom, the man with the coolest name in town. Smaller rooms but with great layout, fantastic location and a variety of free snacks and drinks for guests to munch on.

Beautifully decorated in a unique part if Georgetown DC. Sheets and beds are very comfortable, and staff is great. The owner Justin understands the business 5/5 always a first choice.

We were not given the room we booked. We were given another room that seemed to be fine. It wasn’t. The room had clothing left in a drawer and the big tub that we looked forward to using was disgusting with grime, soap scum and hair. To make it worse, the hot water consistently ran out. So much so we were never able to shower. Thank goodness we only stayed one night. We were promised a refund of $100 for all of this . It was never refunded although I called to remind them. We tried to be understanding given the house keeping staff may not have been fully staffed, etc. due to COVID. But this was beyond that. Nice location and comfortable bed, but try a different place.

Our friend who lives in Georgetown recommended we stayed here and I couldn't have been happier. The room was very spacious, and during COVID is it great to be in a smaller hotel with less traffic going through the common areas. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, and the sheets were extremely high quality. Perfect location too.
