Doing some research on where to stay in Washington DC, I stumbled on this place and the price was fair, so it was booked. We arrived by Metro which the B&B is a few steps from. (Tip, If arriving by the Metro, take the elevator and once you exit through the elevator doors, turn left and left again and the B&B is on the right.) We arrived a little late, but we had excellent communications from the Innkeepers with regards entry and keys for our rooms. There was some lovely cookies on arrival too. We had room 107! A basement room which was lovely and homely with a small en-suite bathroom. The bed comfort was outstanding and probably one of the best personally I have ever slept on. The room was nipping clean and the maids do a super job with their upkeep. Breakfast is a continental style but plentiful to start the day. Raymond cooks something different every day and they were all lovely indeed. The food was delicious to say the least. My slight niggle with the B&B was breakfast timings. The room and one table for breakfast can only seat a certain amount of people at any one time. Would a timed slot make things easier and less awkward especially when people are coming down and can’t be seated? Overall a lovely place to stay in DC. The area felt very safe and there were several restaurants nearby and a couple of shops. The convenience to the Metro was a big bonus so all the DC area is within easy reach of the B&B.

We stayed in room 121 which was large and very comfortable. This is a quiet and extremely clean house with welcoming friendly staff and owner. The breakfast was simple and included hard-boiled eggs, pancakes, waffles, toast, coffee, teas, oatmeal, and cereal. Perfect light meal before going out to explore. The neighborhood is beautiful and easily walkable with many different restaurants around the corner and a CVS and mini grocer about a block away. Wonderful experience and we will be back.

Our stay in this place was great. It's a 2 min walk from the nearest metro (red line) and to restaurants around the area. The staff was lovely and welcoming, would definitely stay here again! I'm gluten free and every morning I was given GF bread, as well as some general other meals which are naturally gluten free

This is the 4th or 5th time we have stayed at the Woodley Park Guest House. It continues to be immaculately clean. The team is friendly and helpful. The owners are usually on property in the morning. The owners and the other guests have some great tips for nearby restaurants and museums. An added benefit is that the Guest House is less than a block from the Woodley Park Metro station. Highly recommend.

The big hotels in DC are either a) run down or b) way too expensive. This spot is a welcome relief. Safe, ultra convenient, and charming, it features great rooms, a wonderful breakfast, and pleasant, kind owners who take the time to make sure all their guests feel “at home”. Location is a couple hundred feet from restaurants, bars, a Metro stop, and a major artery, yet it feels like you are in a quiet , residential neighborhood. Rooms are spacious and attractively appointed. Simply could not be better! Highly recommended.

What an incredible place. The staff are so kind, there are so many little touches that have been considered, down to room coasters. The steps are a hike if you have heavy luggage but not impossible. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

I can't recommend a stay at Woodley Park Guest House enough! It really is a home from home. The beds and sheets are extremely comfortable and you wake up to the smell of delicious breakfast and good coffee wafting up from the kitchen. It's very welcoming: Betty is very friendly, while the owners Laura and Raymond spend time getting to know their guests over breakfast. It's just such a special place to stay! The location is also excellent. Feels safe and residential, near to a parade of good cafes and restaurants and right by a metro stop. Will be coming back!

Woodley Park Guest House, our hosts and staff were all welcoming and friendly. A nice touch was home baked cookies on the front desk every day. Our room was so so comfortable, the bed linens were exquisite with beautiful amenities and the cozy plush robes were a plus. Our hosts, Raymond & Laura, joined guests around the breakfast table for large delicious breakfasts with made to order pancakes, and lively, interesting conversation. We enjoyed the stories they shared about themselves and the history of the house. Laura was most helpful in providing tips and must sees in D.C. The location is perfect for quick access to the Metro and restaurants. This was truly a home away from home! We would definitely stay here on our next visit to D.C.

In my opinion, one of the best features of the Woodley Guest House is their convenient location across the street from the Metro. I also cannot say enough about the restored look and cleanliness of this establishment. Our room was large, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The two front desk ladies were friendly and welcoming. Now, for the not so best features. The owners were far from the warm and friendly hosts I’ve come to expect while staying at a B&B. They did not ever sit and engage in conversation around the breakfast table as another reviewer stated. In fact, when they saw we had finished our last bite, we were asked to leave to make room for other guests. They host 10 rooms but can only seat 8 at the table? Their website states that coffee is available till 4:00 and fresh cookies are there for the taking. We had to ask for coffee at 3:45 (thankfully, Betty stayed and made a fresh pot, but she was clearly not happy about it) and the cookies are boxed, and not high quality at that. Not only was there no coffee after 4:00, the owners and staff are gone as well till the next morning. They leave an “only if a real emergency” number taped to the front window. If you’re looking for an immaculate, nicely furnished, no frills B&B you’ll be satisfied. Next time I’m in DC, I’ll be staying elsewhere.

When choosing where to stay on vacation, I always prefer the personal service and hospitality a Bed and Breakfast offers. While clean, convenient and inclusive of breakfast, this guest house just misses the mark. In all fairness, there are some very good points here. The rooms are lovely and very clean and the beds are comfortable. While the accommodations are top notch, I felt that the guest house itself and the owners lacked warmth, charm and that “extra touch” I was looking for. The location is convenient with access to the Metro across the street. The owner, Laura, is very familiar with the area, but the other women who work there are not. You cannot get help with directions or recommendations if she is not there and after 4:00 pm, the staff leaves. Breakfast is served cheerily by Betty at 8:00 on weekdays and 8:30 on weekends. There are 8 seats at the table. If you arrive a few minutes before the designated time, the owner will tell you to come back. Once seated at the designated hour, you can enjoy the breakfast which I found to be good but portion controlled. There is toast and cereal and one breakfast entree (fruit cup, French toast, quiche or omelette) per person. I’m not a big eater so it was fine for me. If you are, you may be disappointed. No enjoying a second cup of coffee because you are told to leave so other guests can be seated. A guest house that accommodates 20 guests seats 8 at a time for breakfast? The owner is not tactful in expressing what she requires from you either. I found that to be quite off putting. There is tea all day but not coffee as the staff is gone at 4pm. A few store bought cookies are left on the desk. In my experience with B&B’s, the Innkeeper will offer freshly baked cookies or cheese and crackers in the afternoon. It’s nice to be welcomed back with a special treat and some pleasant conversation after a day of sightseeing . If you are looking for those amenities, you won’t find them here. The warmth and charm is nonexistent. In the rooms, there are envelopes to leave a tip for the housekeeper. Of course I certainly would tip for good service. The room was cleaned every day with the bed made, the bathroom tidied and fresh towels. Cleanliness is definitely a top priority here. What I found offensive is that the envelope has a message that in part says, “tips are appropriate and greatly appreciated.” I need not be told what is appropriate. If you are looking for some holiday cheer, you won’t find it here either. Not a wreath, evergreens or even a bow was in sight. As it is the owner’s prerogative to decorate as they see fit, it is not what a guest expects when staying at holiday time at a B&B. In my opinion, I feel that this is a clean, convenient place to stay in DC. If you are looking for warmth and charm, you won’t find it here. I would not return.

Great service with a nice, comfortable, quiet atmosphere. The waiter was very calm, polite, and professional when handling other highly demanding and upset customer. Steak was perfectly cooked, delicious risotto, and very nice truffle fries. Reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant - might be rather expensive compared to surrounding restaurants.

However, there was no host ready to greet and seat us when we came. Food took 35 minutes to cook - slightly longer than I expected. Waiter didn’t check on us after the food came out. But overall, it’s worth the price and very convenient for Marriott hotel guests.

Food was decent. Service was terrible. Took almost 20 minutes to get a glass of water. And prices were out of sight. Cost us $60 for two breakfast sandwiches with hash browns and coffee. Will not be going back!!

Poor service for the breakfast Buffett. The price was very high as well. $24 for Buffett and coffee. The only redeeming quality was the lady making omelets was the nicest person

Excellent food. The pitas were fantastic, the hummus great. All the food was well prepared. Only minor complaint, our waiter could have come around a bit more often. But it was packed when we were there.

I had to wait over an hour for food.. Very disappointed. My server didn't even apologize for the long wait.

Pretty good. I had the lamb fatteh, and liked it, but my more discerning wife thought it was meh. The shared platters + sides/apps are a good meal.

Ordered the Spicy General Tso's dinner special with wonton soup and a side order of steamed dumplings. The dumplings were average and the soup was good. However the general Tso's chicken was pretty bland and not spicy at all.

Food was good except the rice wasn't as good as I am use to elsewhere like New York but it did the job and was very quick and priced good as well
