The hotel is warm, clean, and comfortable—perfect for a quiet winter getaway. The spa was a big plus and very enjoyable after cold days outside. The atmosphere is calm and ideal for resting and disconnecting.
A small but important tip for winter travelers: bring your own food or snacks. The hotel restaurant closes early, and during winter the other restaurants are quite far and not easy to access, especially at night. Knowing this in advance makes the stay much smoother.
Most of the staff don’t speak much English, particularly the breakfast team, but one gentleman was very accommodating and kind, and his effort really stood out.
Overall, a lovely winter stay with great comfort and scenery. With a bit of meal planning, Alva Hotel & Spa is a great choice for a peaceful snow-season retreat. ❄️✨
In our room, the shower was in very poor condition. It was not properly fixed, kept sliding down, and was so damaged that it was difficult to use and could not be held comfortably.
The hair dryer did not work properly either. It stopped after less than five minutes, and we had to wait with wet hair until it turned on again.
The staff member at the pool was very unfriendly. However, we would like to say a special thank you to the restaurant and breakfast team. The service lady was very sweet, friendly, and attentive, and she made us feel welcome during our meals.
On our last day during check-out, no one even asked for feedback or how our stay had been. We did not feel welcome or appreciated as guests.
Furthermore, there was not even a small toothpaste in the room. Normally, hotels provide basic amenities such as toothpaste and a toothbrush, but this was missing.
Overall, the price-performance ratio was not good, and the stay did not meet our expectations.
We did face some inconveniences, as the pool area was under renovation, which caused some issues with heating. Because of this, the restaurant felt rather cold, although it still looked nice and inviting. Despite the minor issues, we had a good time at the resort and enjoyed our stay. The staff assured us that everything will be much improved once the renovation is complete. We'll go back to enjoy the pool and the beauty of the nature in spring.
Cons - What is absolutely worth being improved is the toothpaste & brushes plus the bath robs - I am sure they should be included in the room price, as Alva is a 4-star hotel.
