Rio De Janeiro, Rua Ferreira Viana, 29 - Flamengo (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Positives: location is 6 minute walk to Metro; breakfast has a variety of fruits; breakfast staff is efficient and friendly
Negatives: lots of mold and mildew in bathroom shower; toilet got clogged on the day before checkout out date and maintenance didn’t show not show up to fix it.
Love this hotel, the architecture & decor are like yesteryear art nouveau from the 1930s, great service and pricing, and Flamingo is a cool non-touristy but safe feeling area
Rooms are fine for the price.
Service was very kind and helpful, but they barely speak english or spanish.
The location is amazing.
I decided to put 4 stars because of the small inconveniences, but also because the only time I had breakfast there I had a stomach pain for the rest of the day. Beware if you have a feeble stomach...
The most important thing about the hotel is that the surrounding area is relatively safe; don't go out after 10 pm. The beach is a 5-minute walk away. The subway station is about a 5-minute walk in the opposite direction from the beach. There are many restaurants and supermarkets nearby, making it a relatively bustling area.
The only downside is the room; it's really small. A 26-inch suitcase barely...
Perfect location at few step from the beach.
Buffet restaurant with super great service to the guests and friendly people.
The rooms need to be updated, the bus still is a decent hotel for business.
Excellent location. The hotel is well maintained, although it's clearly an old building. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were checked in right away, even though we arrived early. The breakfast was delicious and varied, with plenty of fruit.

Hotel is ok, bathroom was a little mouldy but not far from the beach, staff where friendly, roof top was a nice veiw point.
The location is good and the breakfast is great but that was it.
We arrived and the room wasn't ready yet so we left our luggage at reception. When we left the hotel the lady at reception said we still had to pay to check in our luggage. Nobody told us that this would cost something so we didn't pay!
The room was on the 1st floor and had no
view from the window outside, you looked at a dark wall...
Well located place with great service. The accommodation left something to be desired. In my room there was a lot of noise because of the air conditioners in the other rooms next door. (I didn't quite understand the logistics of the window), the intercom to speak to reception wasn't working, and at one point while taking a quick shower, the bathroom flooded the entire room. The hotel also does not...
Great hotel, large and recently renovated room! Very well served breakfast! Very good location
Very good! Hotel well located and with a privileged view! The top floor has a great gym
We went as a family, 2 rooms, they gave us rooms 1405 and 1705, the location, the breakfast are very good. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Room 1405 was very noisy, on the last day there was a leak, but it was infinitely less worse than what happened in 1705, which was traumatic with the pipe bursting on my parents, flooding the room and causing us losses.

The rooms were relatively clean. The hotel's surroundings were so-so, but it was close to the city center.
Great location, but several areas need improvement
Arosa Hotel has a great location, right in the heart of Lapa, close to many small local restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, and various stores. It’s very easy to get around — in short, the location is excellent.
The rooms are spacious, which is definitely a plus. However, several aspects of the service could be improved.
Our check-in experience...
The room is large, affordable, and very cost-effective. It is close to the city center and the pier, so it is convenient to travel around and visit the old city.
I went to work. When the internet in the room came on the laptop, more than an hour after it was installed, it didn't allow minimum browsing. In the morning, I did the video conference from my cell phone on 4G.
Excellent option, super organized, attentive staff and location close to shops and restaurants.
I arrived late at the hotel and there was no soap, I had to wait a considerable time until I got it. The air conditioning is good, but the system is different from what we are used to. The structure of the room itself is very good and the breakfast too. The area has quiet rooms.

It's a decent place overall. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the cruise terminal.
The hotel is located near the central station in the old town of Rio. It is convenient to walk to various attractions in the old town within half an hour, such as the harbor, aquarium, and museum. It is 100 meters away from the hanging garden. It is about 1.5 kilometers to walk to the Marquis Samba Hall to watch the carnival performance. Very busy urban area with people staying up late and partying. The interior of room seems dark dark choice of tiles and paint.
Good reception staff, trying to solve guests' requests. Good breakfasts, but monotony gets boring after a couple of days. Room cleaning on request. Cons: bad, dangerous, dirty area. Noisy under the window in the evening. Bad air conditioner, it leaks and makes the room stuffy.
I loved it, reception, cooks, maids rated 10

Nice relaxing place in the center
Great spacious room with air condition and quiet.
Nice swimming pool and a well equipped gym.
Luggage was safely held until pickup.
Very central, service fair but rooms very noisy. Not only for the carnival but also for the ac that is considerably old.
Great place for solo travel or families
Amazing four star service and staff. Absolutely germ free cleanliness. Constantly cleaning. You could eat off the floor. My third year here. I shall return.
This hotel is a very good value and was happy with our stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

We arrived at night, right after our flight (the description indicated a quiet room for sleeping after a long flight). The air conditioner was incredibly noisy outside. Fortunately, they upgraded our room, but unfortunately, it wasn't much quieter. There were ants in the bathroom, mold near the windows, and a hard bed. Breakfast is included, but I had a slight stomach ache after 3/5 of the way through...
Positive aspects included the price (the hotel was really cheap), the location (near a bus station and the ocean), and the service/staff (they were very friendly). However, I wouldn't stay there again because of:
1. The location (the hotel is between one and two hours from the city center, and the ocean there is dirty and smells bad).
2. The facilities (there's no Wi-Fi in the rooms, so you only have...
NICE AND PEACEFUL
Is a nice place and the restaurant food is very good. They have a pretty friendly staff. The only thing I didn't like was the pillows because they are kind of firm. It was a pleasant and peaceful stay and if you get a room with a view it's a very nice view of the water.

The Wyndham is my fancy Batcave. It's safe and secure with all the resort amenities. The ocean and mountain views are amazing! Tcha-tchau.🤙🏽
This is one of the best hotels that I have been to in the Rio de janerio metro area. The architecture is amazing and proof that in a tropical climate like Rio de janerio corridor can be cool without AC devices. The ground floor and away from the lobby to downstairs is very well designed. The biggest disadvantage of the hotel are the dirty chairs in the breakfast hall, balcony windows do not move as...
Just two criticisms. My room didn't have cable TV. I called reception to complain. They said they would send an IT technician immediately to fix it. I'm still waiting for that technician...
I spent my entire stay without watching TV.
The second is the breakfast. I've stayed at much smaller hotels with incredible breakfast service. This hotel leaves a bit to be desired in this regard.
Otherwise, it...
Beautiful hotel with a beachfront location. Breakfast was very good, but there was little variety.
A hotel trying to renovate itself. Until you enter the room and are surprised by the dated facilities, which lack maintenance and renovation.
Everything else was fine. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
The rooms are a bit dated. In my case, we had to request service for the air conditioning system because it was so noisy that I couldn't sleep. The facilities are fine, and the breakfast is basic but comprehensive. Parking is paid separately from your stay.

Excellent hotel, one block from the beach, excellent service, rooftop pool overlooking Copacabana beach.
Room was spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable. We had a small balcony with a nice sea view. AC was a bit noisy and the curtains did not fully cover the sunlight.

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel for my first time in Rio. I felt extremely safe in the hotel as they take many precautions such as locking the front doors in the evening and night. The staff are very attentive, many times they opened the front door for us and any time we entered or exited a car in front of the hotel, Felipe ran to us to open the car door and load our luggage. The breakfast is delicious...
The hotel is located on the beach in Copacabana. It's quite old, the rooms are extremely small, there's barely any space for luggage racks, and there's no kettle, shampoo, or shower gel. The only redeeming quality is that the staff are quite friendly.
The hotel is very close to the beach. The rooms are spacious. The bathroom has great hot and strong water pressure. The service is excellent. Staff will immediately come to help you with your luggage whenever they see it. Brazil generally uses 110 volts. NIcev hotel on the Ipanema beach, very friendly and helpfull staff and an excelenty breakfast overwiatching beach activitie.
Room was tiny (as expected right here on the beach) but spotless. Most of all, the location is incredible, and the staff incredibly helpful. We had many hours after checking out of our room while waiting the airport, and the staff let us continue to use all the hotel amenities, including the incredible pool and view over Copacabana Beach from the sky deck. Six stars out of five!
Excellent hotel on Ipanema beach. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent restaurant and bar and clean and comfortable rooms. The perfect place to stay in Ipanema.
The location is wonderful, the view is incredible, staff are nice, the only problem is some staff cannot speak English which would be problematic sometimes. In iverall I would highly recommed this hotel to all tourists who want to visitt Rio and prefer to be in safe and nice neighberhood.
The reception team were welcoming and efficient. The room was comfortable and had a great balcony with hammock and an amazing view of Arapaho beach all the way down to Ipanema and Laos with Dois Irmaoes beyond. The ARP bar was great for breakfast, lunch or dinner with great food and drink at very reasonable prices given the location. It is a real bonus the hotel being right on the seafront with no...

Wonderful!!! The view of Rio from here is amazing!!! Big thanks to the whole team!!!
I can’t say enough about this boutique hotel. It’s one of the best I have stayed in. The customer service was exceptional. I’m definitely coming back. If you choose this hotel, please make sure you say hi to Emily for me! She is the sweetest!
La Suite by Dussol is an atmospheric hotel with dramatic coastal views and its own very stylish and idiosyncratic "modernist" art vibe. A very good hotel for its money. Spacious room. I liked everything. Clean room, bed, white and clean towels. Cleaning every day. Breakfasts are good for such Brazilian hotels.
Good price for this hotel, and good snacks and drinks in the pool area
Good location just one minute walk from Praça Tiradentes in the historic city centre. The hotel is old and needs some refurbishment. WiFi signal was poor. Nice bathroom. The mattresses were old. Considering the cheap price including free breakfast, I would stay there again.

Exceeded my expectations. Great location, great breakfast, extremely attentive staff, with numerous points of reference for circulation, close to pharmacies, bakeries, cafes, restaurants and the subway.
Unfortunately disappointing. The breakfast was the poorest among the hotels I stayed in Brazil. The view of the ocean and Rio from the hot jacuzzi on the top floor terrace was magnificent. Still, would I recommend it? Of course I don't!
It was a great stay. This is the second time I have stayed there.

Really good location if you're looking to not stay directly on the beach as it's only 2 blocks from the beach. It's quiet too - however definitely not the cosiest or cleanest.

It’s my first experience staying at the hostel in Rio, and it’s been great so far. Very nice and clean place, friendly and helpful staff. Good location, easy to walk to the closest bus stop. Has a great rooftop lounge area and lots of places to sit down and work with your laptop.
Excellent breakfast, huge showers, cozy beds with lots of space. The social scene is mixed with mostly French guests who tend to stay amongst themselves. Overall the property itself is so comfortable and provides everything you could ask for both short and long term stays.
Unique, Authentic Rio experience
I really enjoyed my one-week stay at Aquarele do Leme. The staff is great: super helpful and friendly. Even the owner, Thibault, is very nice and accessible. The terrace is the best. Excellent cost/ benefit . It’s in the mountain but very safe and not a long walk . (Anyway not as near of the beach as other places) . Breakfast is good, only would like to say there is room to improve with coffee but fruit, queijo and bread are good .

I had a hard time choosing between 3 and 4 stars. I’m going with 4 to be nice. I don’t know if this hotel is very nice overall. It’s not pretty. The room itself is fine and bare bones. The bed is actually quite comfortable, and the room is clean! But literally there is no decor and the closet looks a bit unsettling and I was very nervous when I looked in the bathroom because it does kind of look like...
Overall the room was clean. However, as it is a very old hotel, we found the accommodations a bit odd. The bed was old and my wife was itchy afterwards, probably due to dust mites. I couldn't get the shower to turn on hot water.
Conveniently located right next to Catete metro. Friendly staff and reasonable breakfasts.
However, the place is very basic and dated.
The hotel deserves just one star, no more. The only pluses are the great breakfasts, we liked them and the relatively clean room. Of the minuses, everything else: prepare for the fact that you will be given a room in a lower class than you reserved, the reason is simple, your room may already be occupied, for a long time I tried to get a room at least a little closer to what I paid for, there are...
Rooms are ok, nothing special, but the ac works well and the bathroom is clean. I liked breakfast as well because they serve fruits of my liking.

Pretty good for the price!
AC didn't work in my room. Other than that no complaints!
I liked it.
Parking in a closed, covered, and secure location.

The shower is EXCELLENT, the bathroom only has one problem: you can hear everything from the bathroom next door, but other than that it was fine.
The TV worked perfectly, and the girls at reception were super attentive.
Staff was excellent. Location.convenient.
Old hotel, needs renovations, it's challenging for those with allergic rhinitis. Good and central location. It is a star so its price is within its structure. Just to sleep is enough.
