We had a gorgeous stay at Markovo Spa in November 2025. It was our first visit with a 5 month old baby and the service was exceptional for us - the adults - and for the baby. From a special SPA robe for the baby, to the fact that there is baby food available at the buffet breakfast and dinner, through the multiple pools, including kids and baby pools - we were so impressed with everything. This is easily the best hotel for families with children in South Bulgaria. Totally targeted at families with kids and one can tell that things at Markovo Spa are done with passion, professionalism and love for the guest. Will revisit very soon!

It was our 2nd time in that place. The previous time we had massage which was very good. This time we were extremely disappointed - I can put oil om my self - I do not need somebody to do that - that was OUR (both) experience with the massage. later on we paid 22 Euro to enter the other facilities which were not very appealing as well - the strong "odor" of CHLORE in the pools is so strong that our eyes were irritated and it was impossible to stay.
Sorry - Not only we will NOT return, we strongly will NOT recommend or advise to go there.

Our 5 year old had a great time because the hotel offers a lot of fun activities for children up to 10 years old. Nice spa facilities. It is not very suitable for adults without children because of the hotel targeted niche. Thus it is difficult to swim in the swimming pools though it is OK for the kids. Good animators and excellent food. Best food I had compared to several 5 star hotels in Greece and Italy! I can't recommend their massage, though

The hotel is great after the renovations, it's family (and baby) friendly and the half board even includes meals for the smallest. Also there's a ton of activities for the kids at the play center, and the pool area after the renovations is extended offering more area for the kids.

Lovely room, comfy bed and regular change of towels and sheet. The pools and the spa are spotless and as there are many it is never too crowded. We never went to the playgrounds because it was way too hot and nobody was ever using them. The food was very good considering the buffet style: fresh, delicious, great choice and always full trays. The staff were professional and helpful but not friendly with small exceptions. Maybe this is how they were trained though. There is a lot to be asked with regards to the animators in the evening. Some of the girls are lovely and tried to play and talk to the kids but a few were just hanging around with their phones and having fun with each other while the doors of the kids center were wide open. We could not leave our little fellow out of our sight for a second.

1. The price-to-quality ratio is not good. The food in the restaurant is not as abundant as in other hotels of the same category. There is no hair conditioner in the roroom. 2. The pools are the most disappointing. The indoor pools are so hot that children cannot stay inside all day. It's definitely over 35°C, and in the afternoon it may reach up to 40°C. The water sprinklers don't work or operate for such a short time that you have to constantly watch to catch when they’re on. The outdoor pool is generally too cold for smaller children. They get used to it after a while, but still – they can’t really stay in it for even an hour. 3. I don’t think the kids' club staff are actually watching the children (I don't mean playing with them). The girls are just looking at their phones, and that’s it. 4. The playground, which is nothing special, is entirely in the sun, with no shade at all. Realistically, children can't use it during the day because it's too hot. 5. There is absolutely no shade provided for the cars. They could at least put up a canopy or something similar. 6. We definitely won’t be coming back.

An excellent hotel all-in-all. The rooms are spacious for a family of four, a crib was provided for our little daughter, the breakfast and dinner were buffet style but tasty, with good quality and quantity, the staff was helpful and smiling and the pools were to accommodate smaller kids and older kids alike. There are 2 outside pools and 8 inside ones, the inside ranging from 0.40cm depth to 1.4 (if I am not mistaken). Also the kids inside playground and the themes they do for kids are a great touch!
There was one minor issue during our stay. During last night there was heavy rainfall and in the morning we observed that the carpet near the window was wet. The window of course was not open and the issue was reported accordingly.
If you want your kids to have fun and enjoy, I cannot think of a better hotel.

We had an unforgettable stay at Hotel Markovo! It’s truly a paradise for families with kids. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The animation team was outstanding – our kids were entertained from morning till night with fun games, creative activities, and evening mini-discos. They absolutely loved it, and we got to enjoy some much-needed relaxation by the pool. The rooms were spacious and clean, the food was delicious with plenty of kid-friendly options, and the entire resort was designed with families in mind. If you’re looking for a stress-free family vacation where the kids have a blast and parents can unwind, this is the place. We’ll definitely be back!
