The Shanghai auntie at the front desk was so kind and let us check in early. The service was incredibly attentive, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. The restaurant service was fantastic, especially the bacon and potato hash. The hotel is located right in the heart of Toronto, making it easy to walk to all the popular attractions. Plus, there's a big supermarket on either side of the hotel.

The room was clean and tidy, with convenient transportation and shops nearby. Downtown Toronto in winter is relatively quieter and safer, with barely any noise to be heard.

The facilities and location are great. The hotel is right downtown with lots of restaurants, supermarkets and entertainment. The rooms are spacious and well furnished, including a coffee maker and mini fridge. There is also a shared laundry and microwave room in the building if you are planning to stay longer.

Great location close by the station. Kind staffs. Good breakfast. Comfortable room. Will stay next time

Our stay in Holiday Inn was truly wonderful, and I’m happy to give this hotel a full five-star review. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. We had an unforeseen circumstance - our baby fell sick during travel - and the team immediately went above and beyond to accommodate us with an early check-in. Their kindness, understanding, and willingness to help meant more to us than they know.

Throughout our entire stay, the staff continued to be supportive, attentive, and genuinely caring. It made a stressful situation feel so much lighter, and we are deeply grateful.

The hotel’s location is excellent - steps away from the supermarket, public transportation, and all the highlights of downtown Toronto. It made getting around extremely easy and convenient.

A special mention goes to the delicious fresh breakfast, which was a wonderful way to start each day. The food was tasty, well-prepared, and consistently replenished. The breakfast team deserves extra praise for their attentive service and their effort to make every guest feel welcomed and satisfied.

Overall, The hotel offered exceptional hospitality, comfort, and convenience. We felt well taken care of from start to finish, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended!

The room is a bit small, but its central location is a major plus. It's close to all the main attractions, right next to a subway station, and on the main Yonge Street. Getting to the Eaton Centre is super convenient. Definitely recommend staying here!

Breakfast was delicious and room was cozy with nice tub. I could enjoy bath time after the cold weather outside . I will choose here next time too.

Great hotel in an amazing location in a safe area! Bed and pillow wasn’t the comfiest but nice. The bartender Darryl in the Thirty Lounge was amazing! Nicest person , if you’re staying here go down and say hi to him and order a drink, I guarantee he brightens your day!

To sum up the experience here....awkward. We opted for a room with a king bed. The layout of our room was a bizarre intro into what we could expect, being completely unbalanced.
Headboard was the wrong size for the bed, which caused the bedside lamps to be different places (see photos attached). The bedsheet was inside out. Small detail but it's these things that add up to make this experience unpleasant.
The blinds were very noisy to operate (sorry to my other half) and hit the other lamp and coffee maker (again, room was NOT well put together).
The bathroom had NO fan, but just a cheap imitation on the ceiling. I verified there was NO movement of air from it. Water damage was present throughout the bathroom due to this, I'm sure there is mould hiding too (again, see photos!). Wallpaper was done horrendously (humidity didn't help), if that is the extent of the 'renovations' they did I wouldn't be surprised. No doorstop either so don't let the metal door handle hit the glass shower. Bathroom door didn't even latch properly without reallllllly pulling it shut.
BX electrical wire ran outside of the walls and not even properly patched. Was NOT expecting to see it here. Really, *Really*, disappointing.
No gym while we were there. Allegedly an alternative would be provided but other reviews talk about that hassle.
We got a late check-out but they didn't notify housekeeping who came by and woke us up anyways and we had to explain everything to them (nice people, but why would the hotel not keep them in the loop??)
The restaurant attached was fully booked out for a private event with no notice to guests, so don't bank on that.
Really the photos speak for themselves. Spend your money somewhere else.

I really wanted to like this hotel, but too many small frustrations added up. The elevators were painfully slow, and check-in took far longer than it should with a long line. The rooms were small but clean, although the so-called renovations don’t include basics like Chromecast, which most modern hotels now offer.
There’s no fitness centre in the building—you have to go next door. That alone wouldn’t be a big issue, but they require you to line up every single day to get a pass instead of giving one for the full stay. It comes across as cheap and wastes guests’ time.
Getting an invoice was another headache. The number listed on their website couldn’t help because my email “wasn’t on the booking,” and their advice to “press zero” just looped me through menus or hung up on me. After multiple attempts, I finally reached someone—who didn’t listen, immediately put me on hold, and sent me right back to reservations again, who still couldn’t help.
The shower felt flimsy, like the base might cave in, and overall the experience didn’t match the price point. The one genuinely positive part of my stay was the housekeeping service—my maid was kind and friendly every morning.
In the end, this hotel just isn’t worth the wait or the hassle.
Share your experiences, help others make the right choice!
Think about what you would like to know if you were looking for a review about a place to relax. Please describe in detail what you liked and what you didn't. What would you advise to other guests and to the hotel owner. The more fully you tell about the hotel, the easier it will be for other people to make a choice and they will be very grateful to you!

Pretty good diner. One of the waitresses isn't too friendly, but the owner is a nice guy. I've ordered breakfast and lunch and the food is standard diner fare. Seating is cozy and the news is usually on. Free wi-fi. Three eggs, toast, home fries, and coffee for $7 is great.

Went here one morning on summer holidays with our 3 kids. They were so nice and the food was great. Treated the kids like gold. Would definitely go back again.

I want during the weekend all you eat breakfast buffet. Everything was ok but the coffee kinda sucked. But the buffet alone was worth. Good place to go if your hotel doesn't serve breakfast. About $16.99 per person I think. Pretty decent deal, I just wish I was a little bit more hungry that morning.

This is a great hole in the wall breakfast joint. Usually packed but you can always find a seat. It seems like they be been open forever as prices are cheaper than most other breakfast joints. Big portions, delicious food and cheap prices. That's a win in my books any day.

This little place offers the best breakfasts and sandwiches this side of Heaven. The "Classic Breakfast" which I enjoyed daily features 3 eggs, choice of bacon or sausage, choice of home fries or French fries, plus orange juice and coffee (with refills) for $6.95. Now seriously, you're lucky if you can get a cup of coffee and a muffin for that price at coffee shops and other eateries, especially there in Canada's largest city.

The Golden Diner features their breakfast specials daily --all day long, so I never have to worry about rushing there by 9 or 10 AM. This meal sticks with me all day until my dinnertime, so I don't have the extra expense or inconvenience of interrupting my day to grab lunch or snacks.

If you ever happen to be in Toronto in winter, it is so wonderful to sit in this warm, cozy little diner watching the snow fall outside. The staff is always so polite and efficient, and they never make you feel rushed or that you've overstayed your visit.

I feel so blessed to have found this place!

We ordered at 9pm it arrived at 9:30pm! Free delevery, 15% if you order online! Everything was perfect. Soooo good! Since we moved to toronto we tried MANY pizza and trust me Amato.. One of the best in town!! ?

The staff are completely out to lunch. We placed an order for 10 people. When we hadn't received our order (an hour and a half after ordering), we called directly, only to find out that they hadn't received anything - "technical difficulty" was the excuse. No apologies... they were more concerned with taking our order and our money.
NEVER. AGAIN. Which is a shame, because we have historically enjoyed their food.

This is one of the best pizza places in Leslieville. The pizzas always come out perfect. The customer service is great, very friendly on the phone and in person. And those house made dipping sauces are to die for. I recommend to anyone to give Amato a try

Upon entering, you’re welcomed by all the staff, literally! The atmosphere is very energetic and loud, the staff are very friendly. The restaurant itself is warm in temperature and humid. The setting is casual, the tables are picnic benches which you would share with other diners or they have seating at the bar.

I would not recommend the raw items here, it was not fresh. I ordered the beef carpaccio and scallop sashimi. Both dishes were warm, which threw off the taste and texture.

Overall, the food was not great; I lost my appetite. I gave them a 2/5 because the staff were very diligent, friendly, energetic, and enthusiastic. They did a great job at keeping up with the atmosphere.

I would recommend this place if you wanted to try something new, the experience was very different then a typical restaurant.

Personally, I will not be returning.

The food was pretty great; it was heartily made Japanese cuisine. Not the place to go if you are looking for just sushi (though they do use sashimi in some dishes). The drinks looked cool as well & I enjoyed my dry sake. The atmosphere is something else, all the waiters worked together, they called out & chanted orders together with enthusiasm & I had some genuine fun when I ordered a sake bomb!
21.12.2017 Michael
Love this place. The atmosphere is electric. The staff shout out in Japanese as you walk in, and continue throughout the night for any occasion they deem appropriate -- such as new arrivals, departures, birthdays, shots, or special orders. The Japanese fusion food is amazing and uniquely served. Highly recommend this as a group celebration spot or a unique date night.
24.11.2017 Nick
Fun and intimate setting. High-quality food. Great service.
The ramen is very good. Nice place to go with friends, get several dishes to share, and enjoy a drink. 1L Big Mug of Sapporo is always fun (but heavy!)
30.10.2017 L.
Tasty food all around. Lively atmosphere. Good food.
Pros: tasty fried brie cheese. Creative cocktails.
Cons: sometimes a bit loud and hard to talk to person next to you. Always a bit of a wait.

Visiting from out of town I expected this to be more like the NYC Eagle. It's a pleasant bar with nice staff but I didn't find it to be a typical leather bar. It's like a local bar that happens to have a few people in leather in it. There was a video game night, a weird cliquey pup night and a drag night to watch TV the week I was there. Great space though. Nice patio upstairs. I'd go back again.

Great place in the gay village if you're into the kink/leather/bear scene. Lots of different events, classes and meet-ups to fit peoples tastes. We love it!!!!

Amazing bar. The line for the patio is worth it. Great space. Exactly what an Eagle should be like. Bummer upstairs bar is cash only but understandable.

Place is cool. Service is good.

The Asian bartender puts your change on the edge of the bar and takes it back seconds to keep it for himself. Wasn't appreciated. They need to get rid of him.
