The hotel service was excellent. Our butler, Coco, contacted us in advance to follow up on our service. She kindly upgraded our room and allowed for a late check-out, both free of charge. When we arrived in the evening, a bed rail had already been installed in our room, showing how prompt and responsive the service was.
However, the room lighting was dim, the air conditioning was noisy, and the overall hardware facilities were just average.
The hotel is separated from the beach by a road, but there's a beautiful underground passage to get there. The hotel's large lawn is great for photos, and the complimentary photography session was decent with no pushy sales tactics.
The buffet breakfast also provided baby cutlery, and a free meal of baby food was offered daily.

The environment is great, and there's a wide variety of breakfast options, all delicious. The service is also excellent, and it's very close to the beach, making it perfect for families with kids. It would be even better if the room facilities were newer, as the decor is a bit old-fashioned, but it is clean.

Our overall experience was fantastic! We arrived early and were kindly upgraded to an executive sea-view room. A big thank you to concierge Kay for their incredibly thoughtful and prompt service. The hotel is very close to the beach, with a dedicated underground passage providing direct access. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, making it perfect for families with children. There are also large lawns, ideal for those who love taking photos. The room itself shows its age and the facilities are a bit dated, but it has a unique vintage charm.

The room was very comfortable. This is a garden-style hotel with warm and attentive service. It's very thoughtful. The children's play facilities and equipment are comprehensive, and there's a large swimming pool. A subway tunnel connects directly from the hotel to the Sanya Bay Coconut Dream Corridor beach. The beach sand is very fine and beautiful, with a gentle coastline. It's very pleasant to stroll on the beach in the evening. Our butler, KAY, provided warm, attentive, and follow-up service, answering all our questions. She was very thoughtful and caring. Thumbs up, five-star review!

This is my 7th time visiting Sanya and my 7th time staying at the Howard Johnson Resort Sanya Bay! It's truly fantastic. While the hotel has been around for a while, the facilities are complete, the service is excellent, and the environment is beautiful. Nearby attractions aren't far, and there are many restaurants in the area, making dining and drinking convenient. Crucially, the airport is really close, and the hotel's price is genuinely great value for money. I love the relaxed vibe here. The large green lawn is a highlight, and the service is definitely another. It's worth countless stays. I personally highly recommend it.

Although the room showed some age, it was impeccably clean. I booked a standard room, but the thoughtful butler, Coco, upgraded me to a sea-view room free of charge and even provided complimentary welcome fruit. The service was excellent. The hotel's Chinese restaurant was also affordable and delicious, and breakfast was great too.

Howard Johnson is a known hotel brand from the USA, known as a budget hotel. The hotel has many pools, but two remain closed and the main pool is okay but only 1.4m deep, just good for light swimming and kids playing. There is a kids splash pool open for playing. The room equipment is outdated and tired, the room lights are dim, no ice machine, so you have to call room service to get ice. The back door was dirty with finger prints and the tray holding the toothbrush was old and aged cracked plastic. There are no disposable slippers provided, only re-usable rubber ones which are old. The fountains in the G floor are not working. You can see the lack of care in appearance of the old furniture and dusty equipment from what looks like a dining hall in the east wing. There is a small tunnel access to the beach, too bad the hotel has no beach equipment or chairs, which need to be rented. The beach is nice and not busy, since more people stay along the Sanya East Bay Beach or the other popular beaches. The location is okay, there is a small lobby shop, there are many shops/ across the street. DiDi can also take you to many places. I would not stay here again...but if you want a large space and stay mostly on the resort for playing, it's okay .

During the May Day holiday, all hotels were quite expensive. I happened to see a honeymoon room package at Guoguang, and paying an extra 200 for a holiday seemed reasonable. It's also close to the airport. From Terminal 3, a taxi ride cost me just over twenty yuan.

I arrived quite early, and she helped me arrange a high-floor room with an amazing sea view, and no airplane noise. They also sent welcome fruits. The management felt very organized, much better than Tianyu, where we stayed later.
The hotel's public areas and lobby have beautiful views. To get to the beach, you have to use an underground passage, and going up and down stairs with a stroller wasn't very convenient.

It's a very large resort with three outdoor pools and one indoor heated pool. It has a massive lobby as well. The building of the hotel is divided by West and East wings and well balanced like Yin and Yang.
It has a large restaurant for breakfast that can fit hundreds of people.
Access to the beach is very easy through a tunnel at beachend of the hotel ground.
A few restaurants and a supermarket nearby as well. There were plenty of taxis and buses if you need to go to Sanya city, Sanya airport and Sanya train station.
