Due to work, I haven't had much time to spend with my child. So, my parents took my daughter on a trip to Sanya, traveling over 4,000 kilometers. After looking at many hotels, we finally chose WJ for three main reasons. First, it's a very kid-friendly hotel. My daughter, who is under three, loved the 'Little Dragon' outdoor playground during the day and the pool in the evening – she was so happy she didn't even want to eat! Second, as a five-star hotel, it offers great safety and security, which gave me peace of mind knowing my parents and daughter were staying there alone. Third, the hotel breakfast is truly amazing; it looked incredible when I video-called my daughter. In summary, WJ will definitely be our choice next time. Finally, a special thanks to staff member 'Little Fox' 🦊 for her excellent service.

The rooms are a bit old but very clean, though they show their age. Overall, it's an old-money style hotel with an excellent breakfast. The kids' play area is suitable for older babies, but it's outdoors and gets a bit hot. The pool closes quite early in the evening. The service is excellent.

Before coming to Sanya, I always agonized over which hotel to choose. When I'm truly at a loss, Marriott's standard is always reliable. We stayed in a Huahai Suite, and it wasn't cramped at all for four adults and two children. The room was bright and airy, just how I like it. The butler service was also consistently online and pretty much granted every request. It's a shame we didn't get to check out the rooms in the East Wing this time; I'll definitely come back to experience them if I get the chance!

This was my first time staying near Dadonghai, and I was pleasantly surprised – it exceeded my expectations. Unlike other JW Marriotts I've stayed at, this one actually offers butler service, and 'Fox' (the butler) was fantastic. From check-in to check-out, the entire experience was incredibly comfortable. The happy hour at the lounge was also delicious; I highly recommend it.

This hotel is incredibly professional. The partitioned pools are clean and beautiful, and the sandpit areas are filled with soft, fine white sand. The kids' club is huge; my child didn't want to leave after two days. The room details are excellent, with good soundproofing, and the cups, kettle, and coffee machine are all of good quality. There's a large recliner on the balcony where you can enjoy the sea view. I truly highly recommend this place!!!

I had such an amazing stay at the JW Marriott Hotel Sanya Dadonghai Bay. The location is honestly perfect — everything you need is right there. You can simply walk down to the beach, enjoy water activities, and explore so many restaurants nearby. It’s the kind of place where you never feel isolated because there’s always something happening around you.

One of the things I loved most is that the hotel is connected to the Shanhaitian Resort Sanya, Autograph Collection. If you’re staying at JW Marriott, you can also enjoy their pools and facilities, which really adds to the whole experience.

The hotel itself has so much to offer, especially for families. There are daily kids’ activities, and my son was never bored — there was always something fun planned. The playground is huge and honestly looks futuristic, like something out of a movie. It’s such a dream space for children. They also have a beautiful swimming pool, which makes it even more enjoyable to spend your days there.

I also visited Casa Corona Beach Club, and it was such a vibe. The atmosphere, the food, and the whole setting made it a really memorable experience.

The spa was another highlight — so relaxing and exactly what you need when you’re trying to unwind and take care of yourself. On top of that, the service throughout the hotel was incredible. The staff really made everything feel smooth, welcoming, and special.

It’s honestly just a great place to be with your family. I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a beautiful beachfront stay with lots of activities, especially if you’re traveling with kids. It truly has everything — location, experiences, and comfort.

Service: The butler contacted me in advance, thanks to Jill for her excellent service. The hotel offers complimentary pick-up and drop-off service from the airport and high-speed rail station, which is fantastic! They also provide turn-down service, big thanks to the staff.

Facilities: The facilities are a bit dated but still perfectly functional. Both rooms are quite spacious. There are two restrooms, but only one shower. This was a minor inconvenience for our family traveling with grandparents, parents, and a toddler; it would have been much better if there were two showers.

Breakfast: The buffet offers a noodle station, Hainan Zao Po Cu (a local sour and spicy soup), and a good selection of Western pastries. Lots of foreigners, indeed! 😂

The Chinese restaurant serves Cantonese cuisine for lunch and dinner. We found a great value four-person set menu.

There's also a dessert shop and a bar with a very comfortable seating area overlooking the sea. It's a great spot to relax with a drink, and the prices are reasonable.

The hotel only has an outdoor pool, which isn't heated. The deepest part is 1.3m, and there's a kids' pool at 0.5m. Free swimming rings are available.

The artificial beach is sufficient for kids to play in the sand, and complimentary sand toys are provided.

They partner with a photography service and offer five complimentary photos.

There are many children's activities, and we participated in a few. The instructors were very patient, highly commendable!

While Dadonghai can't compare to Yalong Bay, the overall value for money is still good.
