The room was actually better than I expected, as I'd seen many reviews mentioning issues with rooms before. However, the butler service was incredibly attentive and thoughtful; they helped me prepare and check everything. Elena was excellent 👍 and responded very promptly to all my requests. Overall, the hotel is still beautiful, and I'd definitely consider staying again once rooms become available.

The environment is fantastic; you can enjoy the beautiful beach and sea views right from the hotel! Our butler, Maggie, provided excellent service throughout our stay, thoughtfully arranging a honeymoon setup for us. We were so happy the moment we entered the room! We heard she even brought us lotion when we got sunburned and prepared small desserts in the afternoon – she truly anticipated our every need. Every staff member at the Mandarin Oriental was incredibly attentive during our two-day stay, proactively asking if we needed any help. And of course, the scenery is beyond words. If you're lucky, you might even see little monkeys in the morning, which are absolutely adorable! Next time we come to Sanya, we won't hesitate – we'll choose the Mandarin Oriental again!

The public areas are truly beautiful, perfect for snapping some great photos. The room itself was a bit dated, and the mini-bar was very basic. The lobster wontons at breakfast were quite good. Our butler, Alaia, provided exceptional service – truly 10/10! Knowing we were heading to the airport after check-out, she proactively offered a late check-out and gave us shell necklaces and a cute little squirrel souvenir. So sweet! Next time I stay here, I'll definitely be looking for Alaia again.

Sanya Mo would be great, *except* for a few things:
1. Before checking in, I called to specifically request an extra duvet for our family room, which was confirmed by the front desk upon arrival. However, the room was empty. I ended up having to ask the turndown service attendant for one.
2. The only power outlet on one side of the bed was completely loose, the air conditioning was incredibly noisy, and the toilet flush was very weak. We had to call maintenance the next day. They provided an extension cord for the outlet, but the AC and toilet didn't improve much.
3. Our Ctrip booking included a complimentary water activity for two. I called to book a snorkeling session the day before, only to be told there was no record of my reservation when we showed up. They also charged it to our room bill. I only got a refund for the 'Recreation' charge when I specifically asked about it during checkout.
4. During breakfast, I asked a staff member if they could bring in a non-food delivery for me. They hastily replied, 'Please wait a moment,' and I never heard back for over an hour.
Aside from those issues, Sanya Mo was quite good 👌.
On the positive side, the Black Pearl restaurant and the spa staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming. They were among the few places where staff actively greeted guests.

The hotel is sparkling clean, comfortable, and the service is incredibly warm and attentive. The accompanying travel photography service was also super professional, producing high-quality, timeless photos that really captured the atmosphere, even with casual shots. Overall, it's excellent value for money and a fantastic experience. I genuinely recommend it! 👍👍👍

This hotel is perfect for a quiet getaway, offering great privacy and stunning sea views. The property is quite large, so you'll need to use the shuttle service to get around to many areas. However, if you avoid the hottest parts of the day, a stroll around the hotel grounds or along the beach is incredibly enjoyable. The lobster wontons at breakfast are delicious, and there's also a DIY station for Qīngbǔliáng (a traditional cooling dessert). Breakfast runs from 7 AM to 11 AM, catering to all age groups and their various routines. We had a minor issue with our room on the first day, but it was resolved promptly. Overall, the service and experience were excellent. The gym is open 24/7 and offers a variety of teas and fruits. The hotel also provides a wide range of water activities, including snorkeling, paddleboarding, sea fishing, and sailing. There are two swimming pools, one of which even has a small slide.

The hotel's public areas are absolutely stunning! It really feels like a vacation, and the sea is like a clear jelly. The complimentary travel photoshoot by Bojue Travel was also great; the photographer had a wonderful attitude and was very patient with directing poses, resulting in some fantastic shots! Photo selection was also quite flexible, with no hidden fees.
The hotel rooms are a bit dated, but still acceptable. They even helped decorate for our anniversary. We stayed on the first floor of the Seaview Pavilion, and stepping out the door brought us right to the sea – the views were incredible! My only regret is that, perhaps because it's the off-season, the largest pool and slides were under maintenance and closed. I was really looking forward to using them! 😭

The free travel photoshoot was incredible value for money! We got 30 minutes with a professional photographer, enhanced photos, and a 100% success rate – way better than selfies.
The photographer was amazing at guiding us: they communicated about the style beforehand, taught us poses, and found the best angles. Even someone shy like me felt totally comfortable.
There was a great selection of outfits (including traditional Dai clothing), the makeup artist was patient and consulted with us on our looks, and the photo selector was both professional and thoughtful.

I will definitely be back!!! I almost got scared away by the bad reviews before going, but I don't know where those came from?! I booked two nights at Wentao Pavilion, and it gave me such wonderful memories. It's truly a hotel I love, the immersive vacation vibe is just perfect! An old Ferrari is indeed a Ferrari. If I'm spending money, I'd rather spend more and stay a few more nights at the Wentao Pavilion of Mandarin Oriental Sanya.
