Reviews
The hotel seems to be permanently under renovation, and the noise is ridiculous. The soundproofing is practically nonexistent. My window was so close to the street that I felt like I could open it and shake hands with pedestrians passing by.
At check-in, I specifically asked a staff member whether the room was noisy. He said it was “a little noisy.” That was an impressive understatement.
This morning, I was violently woken up by construction workers drilling into what sounded like the wall directly next to my bed. The whole room was vibrating. For a few seconds, I genuinely thought I had somehow woken up in the middle of a war zone rather than a hotel.
It is honestly quite impressive to charge people for a room where sleeping feels like an optional extra.
If the hotel is undergoing this level of renovation, guests should be clearly warned before booking, not after they have already checked in.
Would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone who plans on doing something unreasonable like sleeping during their hotel stay.
I was extremely satisfied with my stay at this hotel! The staff were lovely and welcoming, and the room was very comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent and very convenient. Highly recommended!
Cleanliness: Very clean.
Environment: The ambiance was quite pleasant.
Service: The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and even offered to help with my heavy luggage.
However, the front desk staff were incredibly warm and helpful. They assisted with my luggage and showed me to a clean room. The view from the window was unobstructed, with greenery, and it was very quiet. Its proximity to the First CPC Congress Memorial Site was a big plus; the short walk there and back was perfect.
After a good rest, I headed to the high-speed rail station. It was peak rush hour, but thankfully, the hotel is very close to the subway, so my travel wasn't affected at all. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located right next to Dongtaixiang, an intangible cultural heritage site renowned for its traditional Shanghai Shengjian buns.
