Zhongshan West Lake Hotel Hangzhou in Shanghai

Very close to Hubin Yintai, West Lake, just a kilometer's walk away. Lots of food downstairs and convenient for shopping. The service is very professional, and there's free parking.

The front desk staff were neither professional nor polite. Upon entering the room, I found the window was leaking, which should have been addressed before guest arrival. When I asked about breakfast charges, the front desk told me I could order takeout breakfast the next day. What kind of logic is that? Does it mean the breakfast area was full and they couldn't accommodate more guests? The room had an irregular shape. They claimed there was a view of West Lake, but all I could see were buildings. I'm speechless.

I enjoyed my stay in Zhonsgan West Lake Hotel, the location is great. A lot opportunities for a food and drink. Short distance to West Lake Area and shopping center. The Service was amazing and they let me check in at 9 o'clock :) , breakfast super tasty, a great choice na view! one issue was the cleanliness, which in my opinion could be improved. for example the night stands close to bed, has a lot of dust.

The hotel is very close to West Lake, and there are plenty of great food options nearby. I was very satisfied with the facilities and service. I accidentally left something in my room after checking out, but when I called immediately, they sent it back via SF Express. I'm very grateful! 🙏

The room was clean and well-decorated! It's very close to West Lake, just a few minutes' walk away. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was also quite extensive. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

Security Guard Xiao Jiang provided excellent service, making our stay very comfortable. The location is also convenient.

Choosing the right hotel for a West Lake trip really made our experience! 💖 It's just a 10-15 minute walk to the lake, and after strolling along Su Causeway, we even detoured to a nearby night market for some local snacks on the way back to the hotel. Once in the room, I could soak in the tub, letting the warm water ease my tired legs. The bathroom even had a Dyson hairdryer, leaving my hair voluminous and frizz-free. All the little details were spot on and exactly what I like. I'll definitely book here again next time I'm in Hangzhou! 👏

Cleanliness: The room was spotless and well-maintained.
Service: The staff was very welcoming and any minor issues were resolved immediately.
Facilities: The hotel had everything one could need, including a fantastic Dyson hairdryer in the room. The laundry room on the second floor was also a great amenity. The hotel's location right by West Lake is incredibly convenient, and the breakfast spread was exceptionally rich and varied.

Service was generally good and the team were helpful, particularly when assisting with directions. I would like to specifically mention the gentleman at Front Desk who assisted me with my room extension query. I am sorry I did not get his name, but I remember him being quite tall and wearing a black and silver/gold ring. He was patient in explaining the charges, which I appreciated. The young lady at Front Desk, however, could benefit from smiling a little more. They provide driver service to sightseeing venues, at a fee of course and first-come-first-serve basis. As I was travelling free & easy with my elderly mother with only 1.5 days to spare, this service made things convenient and smoother for us. The driver was very friendly and accommodating.
I booked room with breakfast which was simple and sufficient - very much catered to Chinese as per many other places, unless you stay in luxury hotels.
Location wise, there are plenty of dining options in the surrounding area. By foot, Westlake is about 25mins to 30mins away - a direct walk down the road - easy and good for evenings. There is also the mega Intime shopping mall.
Facilities-wise, the maintenance of the electronic controls should be reviewed. I encountered several issues during my stay. The main lift button at Level 1 was faulty. In my room, the Do Not Disturb button would activate but then switch off again after a few minutes, resulting in me being disturbed during my nap. This was no fault of the room attendant. Additionally, the air-conditioning would reset itself to a temperature I had not selected. Although I set the dial to 22°C, it repeatedly returned to 24–25°C, making the room feel warm.
I will definitely return to this hotel if I visit Hangzhou again but I hope they fix the electronic controls issues.

The hotel is located in a small alley opposite a department store, and because it's in an alley, it's easy to miss if you're driving. It's in a quiet location amidst the hustle and bustle, with the Huamao Hotel right next door. The subway station is also nearby. It seems to be an old-style villa, perhaps formerly the residence of a wealthy family. It was very well-maintained. I stayed in an executive room with a large living room and a bedroom. I often lay on the big bed watching TV and dozing off. I really liked the room's decor, which perfectly matched the hotel's style—a blend of East and West with a vintage feel. The only drawbacks were the weak water pressure in the shower and the slightly worn condition of the rooms. Also, there's no elevator, so if you're staying on the second floor, checking in and out and carrying luggage is quite a hassle. I stayed for three nights, and each night I had to order breakfast in advance for the next day, such as wontons, as breakfast was in another building. The front desk service was friendly. Staying here, the atmosphere of the surrounding environment felt like stepping back into early 19th-century Shanghai.
