Excellent service, from the host to the housekeeping a plus, super nice location, right there in the Malecon and walking distance to Colonial Zone, breakfast included is a plus too, yumm yum, I stayed around 12 days and It was a super cool place, the terrace you have a nice view, the pool with the jacuzzi super romantic and cozy,a super great place for the budget
Favorite place always friendly and the price is great, pool, bar, restaurant, all inside.
My experience at Rig puerto malecon was beyond my expectations the hotel was clean and a safe environment wich isthe most important for me i to thank cristopher for always helping me in anything that i need it and also Antonia for always making sure my room was clean and in general the whole staff was amazing i will definitely consider this hotel as my number one choice to stay when im back at the...
The Wi-Fi did not work in my room and was only accessible in the lobby. Fresh towels were unavailable if I missed the housekeeping team
* Posting this review for My brother and sister-in-law who recently stayed at this hotel*
We stayed at this hotel for 8 days and it was such an enjoyable stay
Nice area, very nice to walk, very safe only thing negative, l found the shower head broken reported and they never change it, but beside of l recommended
Nice place
Worker's are helpful and location is excellent, right next to the beach, plenty of places to eat, this was my second time there and it will definitely be a third
Nice older complex located near the main drag. Small pool surrounded by pretty tropical landscaping. The unit I stayed in was clean except for the bathroom mug, which was dirty and moldy
I didnt actually stayed here, but i went to visit a friend. The hotel looked nice. It looked like a small apartment with a terrace. If i go back to Boca Chica, i might stay there. Great price for the rooms!!!! 👏
The room was clean, air conditioned and had hot water, all the staff we experienced were very friendly and helpful, short walk to the beach and the small city park
I was assigned a room that I didn't like, and the receptionist was very kind and gave me a free upgrade.
So thanks to him.
You’re treated like family the entire stay. I love the spacious rooms and access to the beach and restaurants.
Hot water heater In Our casita. Quiet after locals stopped riding the motorbikes. Breakfast was inexpensive and very good. Host is Italian and very pleasant
domingo and his wife are the perfect hosts that care for all of your needs: they suggested nice beaches and borrowed us a scooter we could get there with
the housing is very comfy and welcoming but the real spectacle is the beautiful garden with the many butterflies🦋 thanks for everything!
The casita was basic, but cute and very clean and Melvin the host was really nice. We really appreciated our 1 night sleep there!
Beautiful place to stay! Delicious breakfast, comfy beds, amazing views and the grounds are stunning with trees and flowers!!
Lovely place to stay with lovely hosts. Super close to the beach and several charming restaurants. Definitely will return
After 17 years, I decided to return to my country and, I decided to stay near my favorite beach, got booked there for 7 days, the first days were great, but in the morning of the 4th day, coming from the beach, as soon as I open the gate of the hotel, their dog almost bit me, after bark and try to attack me at least 2 times the Cuban lady, who also works at the reception, came running, and said:...
I enjoyed my stay at this well kept hotel with very nice rooms, a pool and breakfast is included. Also, very good customer service!
Flew into SDQ and checked in late and all was good. I will stay there again. Nice breakfast to start the day. Pool looked mice but no time to use it.
Very clean safe hotel not far from the beach nice pool and good food options at reasonable price
The service here is amazing! I’ve stayed numerous times at first because of convenience of airport distance etc. However I came back for the quality of service
Nice and clean please ! Staff very friendly !
Thank you so much to the Chef Sosa , he cooks delicious!!

The hotel inside is an old colonial house, it has rooftop areas, green areas and a pool, each part of it looks very romantic
We booked three rooms for our family. Fabulous location. Charming. Friendly staff.
is a family place small and personal. Try to stay on the second level. To many flies on the first floor because of the pool
No condiments given except one roll of toilet paper and one towel which is not changed daily. Breakfast was Traditional American or Traditional Dominican. They are there to help but not overbearing
The hotel is now called casa colonial, it is extremely well located! Nearby the conde street and beautiful alleys, there is a big church across the street and a cozy cafe
The hosts were very nice, they make your breakfast and customize it according to your preferences, they serve nice coffee with it or juice as well
Nice place with pool, restaurant and villa type housing. The decor is typical of countryside housing. The villa I had was next to the restaurant and it's 2 floors
The pool had an interesting architecture and looked nice
Best Italien cook in the village, very very delicious dinners, thank you! They should make more advertisement in the town or put signs for the restaurant also, because from the street you cannot know that there is also a restaurant for the public and not only for the hotel
Great place to stay and lovely, helpful staff! The photos don’t do it justice. They make a fantastic breakfast and were very helpful with anything we needed. They had wifi available and small personal kitchens, if needed
All rooms were like small apartments or houses, not like typical hotels or resorts. Our room was very clean and the hotel is walking distance to two beaches and the main town area
Fantastic Stay!
The staff was not the best in english but with a translator i was better able to understand and my team and I had a wonderful time! The rooms are clean, spacious and the property is maintained daily
Nice place to stay for a short or long period, Mrs. Raquel is very friendly and diligent, always able to help. I would book a reservation again if I need to.
It was very easy to access and a comfortable space
If you persist on something they usually attend to the matter! Scenery was beautiful and very Calm and soothing; I tend to find calm is relaxing for tourists, but also Calm can be too relaxing if they are doing a job too slowly,
The staff can be helpful but if they can’t sort things they tend to not be in the office and someone else’s has to deal with the Subject, using the reason “the other person is not here to deal with it”
My stay
The place is decent I booked two apartments. Upon checking in the receptionist on the evening of Sunday April 20th 2025 lacks customer service
Interior run down. Noisy. Staff is friendly though. Neighborhood questionable, lots of trash outside.
The hotel is central to almost every major tourist site. The receptionists have good customer service
There was no toilet paper in one room, no towels in another and third room smelled as if someone had just smoked in there
We picked this property because it was in the heart of places we wanted to see and we could walk to. Traffic was horrific, but I was able to manage with our car and we were able to parallel park very close every time
Even though the area might look a little sketchy, for someone new to traveling outside the US, we didn't have any damage done to our car and felt very safe walking around in the daytime
We were in our rooms most nights as it got dark, the street noise does quiet down as it gets later, and the other guests were very respectful with their noise levels

The property itself was immaculate, with well-stocked amenities that made our stay incredibly comfortable. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, from the cozy furnishings to the fully equipped kitchen
Whether it was answering questions, offering recommendations, or just their warm demeanor, they made us feel so welcome. This property is a gem, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book it again
It truly felt like a home away from home. The real stars, however, were the staff. Their exceptional hospitality made all the difference
We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at this property! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations
The location was unbeatable—oceanfront with breathtaking views from our balcony that we enjoyed every day. It was the perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of the surroundings
They were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect
Hidden gem
It was pretty nice, the people and place were quite and comfortable.
Room was clean and comfortable, staff friendly, breakfast surprisingly good.
Nothing to do around the area
The break fest was ok
My room was clean, the pool was spotless, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. A special thank you to hotel manager Josemary, who lives on site and is always ready to help if you need anything
great personal, nice locality - not so noisy, nice garden around pool. Tasty breakfast for $5
They have a nice pool, free wifi, cable tv & ac in the rooms, and limited parking. I am not a big fan of the glass stairs
This hotel was a great find, in my opinion, very affordable, clean rooms fabulous staff, wonderful pool area, the restaurant was not open at the time, but they still did serve your free breakfast in the morning, which was delicious! Would definitely book here again!
The property is quiet the staff are wonderful the food os really good is clean the pool is beautiful I recommend the hotel is 10/10 5 star ⭐️
beautiful cozy clean rooms, lovely staff. the ocean view was outstanding with the nicest pool! loved it def recommend and def will return!
Room: large, but therefore room is hot and does not have a large enough ac unit to cool entire room and bathroom. Bathroom clean, large shower. Beautiful pool and beach setting, restaurant decent and staff nice
Best place to stay in Cabarete. Close to all of nightlife-al walkable but far enough that it's quiet when you sleep. Landscaping very well manicured and super tropical as you would expect
Room was wonderful, staff was very helpful and courteous. The breakfast was a great touch to mingle woth ohter guests. Parking was a plus as well.
Everyone was friendly and would recommend it to anyone looking for an economic place with a great location
Clean, Comfortable, safe, extremely comfortable bed, i would recommend this hotel
Walking distance to beach, restaurants, grocery store etc. they do charge a small fee to have your own drinks at pool but not bad. Only thing is we didn’t get to experience their pizza service
The colmado/bodega across the street, large supermarket a couple blocks away, airport 15 minutes away and the beach a 10min walk from the hotel. The capital Santo Domingo is just a 25min drive
Tronco inc was very attentive to us as soon as we arrived. The room was good for the price and i felt comfortable throughout my stay there. The location is what I liked best
I've been here since April 4th. So far it's been extremely positive. Awesome people!!! I don't care luxury so I am extremely happy here. Rooms are very clean; food is excellent, nice swimming pool
There was a nice pool in the garden area, but I didn't try it out. Overall an OK place for a quick cheap stay
I had breakfast in the restaurant of this hotel, the food was delicious, it was a Dominican breakfast and it included natural juice and coffee. The environment is good and it is close to the beach
It's a family business, the owners are sooooo nice. I extended my stay seven (7) more days. I highly recommend Castello Italiano. Very big rooms, hot water, free Wifi
It's close to the beach, stores, restaurants, perfect welcoming environment, I am very happy here
I’ve seen other reviews mention that there’s a swimming pool but the reception staff told me there isn’t one? Overall cheap price and you get a fairly good standard for what you’re paying for
With only a 4 minute walk to the beach in one direction and several restaurants and bars in the other direction. We will definitely stay at the hotel again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Punta Cana
It is less than a five minute walk to the beach, and there are plenty of great stores and food options nearby. Overall, it was a convenient, comfortable place to stay and I would definitely stay here again
Bella Vida Hotel is a great place to stay. The cost is very affordable and includes free wifi and breakfast daily. The rooms have a private balcony and the roof top has an amazing view all around
The staff is very friendly and anytime we needed ice or more toiletries, they were always quick to provide it. Bella Vida is in the perfect location
Space. Áncora in progress but soon with an integrated kitchen and bar on the roof with jacuzzi. In the evening atmósfera already understandable ...
Very good service, good food, friendly staff
Beautiful view of the ocean, nice pool
A hidden gem in the south west of the Dominican Republic. We felt right at home from the check in. Lovely place, very cozy, great food, nice pool. But the highlight is the view from the place
Simple hotel, nothing fancy, but the room was awesome.
Very clean.
The only inconvenient was a lady smoking in the breakfast area restaurant. I spoke to the owner, but apparentely it was normal
It’s very clean, comfortable beds, air conditioned rooms. I’ve stayed in this hotel six times doe work and I returned for my family vacation. Will definitely be coming back
Pleasant welcome, pretty exterior, well-maintained swimming pool
Super nice staff, they have given me an upgraded room. Very spacious, good water pressure and hot water. Recommend if you're passing by this area for a one night stop.
This place is pretty great! We stayed in the suite with a private jacuzzi and ocean view, amazing!
Very cleen and comfortable and working air conditioning with cable TV and a cold fridge. No complaints at all! I would give 5 stars if there was a bigger difference between the two options
Perfect for the price, they have rooms for 1500 (i paid 1900 online) or 1000. I've stayed in both and there was very little difference in the two
Very enjoyable stay and will be back many times. Perfect for people passing through or a quick cheap night's stay
Clean little hotel... Staff is excellent... Central to everything... Two blocks from beach
Safe in room no extra charge... Little bar at front...24 hr security
This little hotel is really awsome. Right downtown Sosua and right next to everything
The renovated rooms are very nice, the food is great at a reasonable price, the staff is absolutly the best and always go to the extent to do their best. The new owner is a great hearted man
Perfect location to everything you need, walking distance to beaches, restaurants, stores, grocery store. Very secure hotel with a guard at night
Owner is on site everyday, makes sure is customers are satisfied, and very accomadating,he speaks english, and very friendly
Very clean and comfortable. The staff is amazing here, the ladies who work in the front are so helpful and kind.
you need to get used to the towels, but it’s not a big deal. The pool on the rooftop was also clean and u can grab some sun in the mornings till early afternoons. We were happy to be there and we felt safe!
This hotel has everything that a big hotel has. The pool is nice, open kitchen, parking inside, security system, hot water, and the terrace is the most exciting place with music and beverage at a good price
Super friendly and helpful receptionists !
You can use the kitchen, which is clean , they also have a big music box u can put your own music of you are alone on the rooftop :)
The room was clean and big , we had even hot water, you just need to leave it flow a little bit
Stayed here for a few nights with my family while visiting the island. For the price I was not expecting much but the room was clean when we got there and the employees were very attentive and helpful
It's a nice and affordable place to stay. It has some space on the fourth floor in which you can relax and/ or listen to music, among others. The staff was also very helpful.
Considering the location where the hotel is, the price is great. The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom was clean too, which is always very important to me
Very beautiful hotel, with very nice design and pool area with bar. The beach and the area not the best. But for some go to excursion or need to go stay a Romana for work it is a great option. Very good food
Nice, clean hotel, nothing exceptional but you have all you need and all in all everything is in order. Very good value for money and friendly staff. A little bit noisy at night and it was only possible to pay in cash
My room didn't have a window, but the ceiling was very high, so it didn't feel cramped at all. The facilities are a bit dated, but that's insignificant compared to the price! The staff were also very friendly!
Excellent pick. Close to cruise port, there's a great chicken place two blocks away, and the family-run hotel is very welcoming. Shout-out to Davide, Micaela, and Joseph
The hotel offers excellent value for money, located right in the colonial district, making shopping very convenient. It has an open-air restaurant with very good food
La Romana trip
Patricia and Mariano make sure guests feel like family. Place is cozy and very comfortable.

I planed to stay with my Family for 1 day. Finally we extended for more days. Helped to organize a trip to San Domingo. The kids really enjoyed the swimming pool
There's tables and chairs from the restaurants, then there's water. The dining area was dusty and the pool could have used a little scooping to remove the little bits of debris
Half of a mile is nothing to walk, but it's atop a steep hill. Also, there's no beach, per se. There's water, but nowhere to set up a towel on the sand and lay
Near to the hotel is beach with no waves, ideal for small kids. On the room there is LCD with Netflix. We enjoyed Dominican breakfast and omelette. Some staff does not speak English, but has a big afford to help
José Kilson from maintenance was incredibly kind and helpful, and the women in the kitchen—especially Rocío—were so sweet, ensuring my family and grandchild felt extremely special
Mr. Wilson the administrator is a very respectful and dedicated person. He make our days enjoyable and pleasant. We are very pleased with the stay at Calypso Hotel.
