Super hotel in an excellent location just yards from the historic harbour. Staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Clean and well maintained property. Smashing breakfast buffet too.
Can’t speak highly enough about the location. Hotel itself was solid and very good for the price. Air conditioning in room 405 should probably be looked at. Didn’t work effectively even on not especially warm nights.
A quirky, cosy hidden away hotel in the centre of La Rochelle near to the marine and main restaurant eating area. There is no parking facility at the hotel, but there are carparks nearby. It is a dog friendly hotel with simple, small and comfortable rooms. Good breakfast.
Super location, great views from our 4th floor window. Bijou but great for two. Friendly service, staff happy to help in English if needed. You do have to find somewhere to park if travelling by car. We used Place de Verdun (17 euro per day).
Room was too warm. It was 37C when we arrived and we needed to cool the room down.We had air-conditioning but it was useless. Both of us barely slept the first night because of the heat and humidity in the room. Would expect a lot better from a fairly expensive hotel. Breakfast room needs to be decorated or a least some decent seating.
Small but Nice We loved the location of the hotel and it the room was very clean and nice but it was small, especially the bathroom. It was adequate for 1 night but longer we would have felt very cramped. Otherwise it is a good hotel with a great location. The breakfast was good too.

Balcony view Very friendly staff; my only comment is that it would have been nice to check in at 1:30 PM instead of 3:30 PM since the room was available; we had just flown in from the US and jet lag was awful........
The hotel is in an excellent location with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and the beach. The staff was exceptionally professional, friendly, helpful and polite.
Perfect location with a sea view from balcony. Excellent helpfulness and friendliness from hotel staff. Brilliant place to stay in Biarritz.
Perfect location to explore this beautiful town. Right in the heart of town and everything is walkable from the hotel.
Fabulous plus Fabulous little hotel in a terrific location. Wonderful friendly staff who offered help on every situation. Room was well appointed with the most comfy bed. The lively restaurants in the square added to the experience. Highly recommend staying here and enjoying the fabulous hospitality of Sophie and her team.
My wife and I have discussed how we should respond. We could not wish for a better, central location. Everything was just a stroll away. First, we thought the staff we met - the young ladies at the reception desk - were polite and immensely helpful, although the one who showed us on arrival the "upgraded" room carefully avoided its drawbacks. An example was the toilet which was located in a cupboard...

Superb breakfast. Close to Sarlat but steep walk back.
Location is a plus and minus. Its in a beautiful quiet setting but a long walk down (and back up !) a steep hill into town for restaurants and general sightseeing but where there is very limited parking. The Hotel itself is outstanding. The proprietor could not be more helpful. The breakfast was very generous and a culinary adventure with some different cheeses and meats every day. It was wet while...
Decent option in Sarlat Slightly out of the town centre, but within walking distance and did all the basics really well.
What a beautiful hotel, amazing swimming pool, incredible French breakfast. All local produce with homemade specialities. The quality of the hotel is down to Christine, our host, who takes such pride in making you feel welcome. Looking forward to our next visit already.
Overall, it was a pleasant base for our three-day trip to Dordogne. Our lovely host, Christine, was welcoming and helpful in recommending places to visit and restaurants to try, and the breakfast she prepared was delicious. The room was clean and functional.
Charming hotel on the outskirts with a 10 minute walk down to the medieval heart. Catherine, the owner is friendly and helpful. The place is clean and the rooms are comfortable. Parking is very private. The pool area is nice and there is a long balcony to sit out.

We really enjoyed our stay at Alfred Hotels - Port Vieux! The hotel is right by the ocean and surrounded by many restaurants and the whole town within walking distance. The staff was very friendly, the bed super comfy, and the breakfast quite yummy! The hotel was cosy and perfect for a weekend getaway.
Such a lovely hotel with the kindest staff!! Everything was homely and clean. Special note to Alex & Luc for such a warm welcome, and to the whole staff for being so lovely and accomodating! The hotel is in a great spot close to a beautiful bay for swimming. Would definitely recommend 😊 perfect place for a solo trip.
From the moment we arrived, the service at The Alfred Hotel was absolutely exceptional. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our stay perfect — every request was handled with a smile. Our room was spotless and beautifully designed, with a balcony overlooking the city and the sea — truly breathtaking at sunrise.
I had such a great stay at this hotel! The place is super clean, modern, and really well located, close to everything but still quiet and relaxing. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed, and the staff were honestly the nicest, always smiling and happy to help. Checked in with friendly helpful staff Parking was 12 EUR The places was great and all recently done up The only down side is it is 10 mins walk back from town on dark streets ok for a man but don’t think for a single girl
Very enjoyable breakfast with many healthy choices. Good coffee too. Good Boulangerie opposite.
Lovely, friendly place in a quieter part of La Rochelle but convenient and accessible. Warmly greeted and very well looked after - nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was amazing!
Lovely hotel and room. Slightly noisy road but the shutters help. Beds are great, linen a little harsh and pillows a bit lumpy. Good amenities in the room and friendly staff. Would stay again.

Perfect location, very centre and close to everything. Just a small room.
Front desk staff were super friendly, and accommodating. Rooms are good, perfect for a few nights. Breakfast buffet was nice, with many options available. The hotel is centrally located, ideal for first time visitors.
This is a great location and my room was large for an inner-city room. The shower layout wasn't ideal and the toilet was on a step which was a little weird. Otherwise the service was very good and the staff was accommodating when I arrived early for my room.
Address validated and retained for a future stay in Bordeaux. After a warm welcome, we appreciated the style of the hotel and the room. We were able to enjoy shopping, bars/restaurants and monuments during the day until night, all on foot while staying close to the hotel. See you soon

10/10 no complaints Hotel is fantastic. Great staff. Big room, lots of space, very clean.
Delightful hotel, conveniently located. A charming hotel in the old town of Biarritz and well located. It's in a pedestrian street so taxis set down / pick up in the nearby square and it's an easy walk from there. Hotel lobby is just a corridor. The rooms (recently refurbished) we were allocated were large and quiet - at the rear of the property. The tropical decor is interesting if misplaced in...
The location of the property was outstanding. The Tiki bar was also very good
Wonderful property with helpful workers. I had a brief issue with being double-charged, but they got that fixed quickly. The area is lovely: Port-Vieux is covered in restaurants and shops and is inaccessible to cars, so it's a very popular pedestrian spot. Unfortunately, this makes it a less than optimal choice for morning people, as the food market across the street does not close until midnight and...
My favorite in Biarritz, will come back! THANK YOU again for an amazing stay in your beautiful hotel. We wanted to send a quick note to mention that Elliott’s and Loraine’s help with getting our room earlier, making it easy with the luggage and late check out - all of this made the vacation in Biaritz extremely amazing. Wonderful location and perfect warm welcome throughout. All the team were amazing and very professional. Room 19 was magical being in the tower. The menu offered was super and of fabulous quality.
Very clean room, staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the old town of Sarlat and we are already planning to stay there again. However, we will probably book a larger room. The room we had was perfectly acceptable from an amenities and decor point of view, just a little on the small side.
Lovely old hotel, centrally located, with a very helpful staff and a wonderful breakfast.
Stayed here a few nights with a group of friends. This is a nicely located hotel three or four minutes walk into the town centre. There is lots of parking immediately opposite. Being an old building brings with it lots of character as well as rooms being scattered about over several floors. There is a very small lift, thankfully, that will take guests up to the 1st and 2nd floors. Many rooms however...
Interesting tower room but very very noisy traffic and room very basic.
We stayed two nights at the La Coulverine, paying E116 per night for a suite large enough for a family of four. We had a fair experience. The hotel is located right on the edge of the medieval town (the old ramparts) and our room was on the third floor, with two rooms. A very large main room with a double bed and a second, much smaller room with two singles. We found the suite a perfect size for us...

Great location in the middle of the Chartrons district, perfect base for exploring the city. Room was clean and had everything that we needed. Reception and check in/out was easy and handy having a 2pm check in time on the arrival day. I would stay again if visiting and recommend to others.
An excellent location and very helpful staff
Nice stay The hotel is nice and clean but most of all, it’s walking distance from the city center.
The receptionist was really friendly
Budget stay in a great location The hotel is situated on a street of cafes and shops and it is easy to find. It is equidistant between stops for the B and C trams and also near bus stops. On arriva in Bordeaux, I walked from St Jean train station and it was a pleasant 45 min stroll along the river. The economy double was small but more than adequate for a one night stay. The reception very kind, gave us a clear instruction as we checked in at 10pm. For one night all good.
This was an overnight stopover driving through from Spain to Paris... It was as expected. The receptionist was very nice and helpful and the accommodation had been recently improved. A little outside of town, and the locals (at the corner shop) were to be avoided.
I must say that the rooms could use a touch of freshening up and feel somewhat dated. Our room, in particular, lacked blinds due to a malfunction, and the curtains were not sufficient to block out the light. Also, a little air conditioning would be nice for the summer months. However, the reception staff were very pleasant.
Close to the docks Very good for one night, close to the docks, renovated rooms, bedding, shared bathroom, friendly staff
One night to put up with it. Not too bad but the car park is in a poor state and up the street from the hotel entrance .. which is not great when it is raining and you have to drag your luggage along uneven pavements and over bumps and potholes all while getting soaking wet.
Very comfortable A hotel undergoing renovations that is very good in terms of the renovated rooms! Everything is there for a truly comfortable stay! In my opinion, the breakfast could be improved a little by expanding the selection...very poor compared to the quality of the hotel.

I was initially hesitant to stay at a hotel near the train station due to concerns about noise and crowds. However, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at this hotel, located just a 3-minute walk from Gare de Bordeaux Saint Jean. It's remarkably safe. The proximity to Tram C/D, which runs frequently, and the 10-minute ride to downtown Bordeaux make it incredibly convenient. The breakfast,...
Hotel is by the train station. Rooms have a good size, plenty to tidy. Staff is very warm and welcoming, 24hr reception. Breakfast is very good, sweet and salty choices. Bottles of water with tea or coffee available in the bedroom.
I really don’t understand the negative reviews. Yes there is no elevator but that is not the hotels fault. They brought our luggage up to our room so I don’t see the issue that others are having. The staff are extremely friendly and gave us water and bottled beverages whenever we entered the lobby. Yes the rooms don’t have air conditioning but they have a cooling fan that they can help you put ice...
Really good place to stay for a budget hotel rooms are ample and well equipped beds are comfortable. As for location its literally the other side...
Me and My friend stayed there last night in Room 116. The room was nwat bathroom beautiful, and very spacious considering there was two twin beds. A nice overlook from the balcony of the train station and Broadway.

This quirky, quiet hotel offers a superb breakfast and large comfortable rooms. There is a lovely after-dinner gathering offered outside in the cool evening air, and the views are fantastic. Amazing place and the staff are just lovely. Nicest we have ever met.
I got exactly what I expected, a no frills standard Ibis. Rooms were compact but comfortable. Cleanliness was good. Car parking was a bit of a challenge as the spaces are limited. Nothing special, but nothing to complain about either.
Great hotel, very close to the centre and all the bars and restaurants. Helpful staff, nice rooms.
This hotel is well situated for visiting Pau and has good parking. However the rooms are much smaller than the usual Ibis rooms so I wouldn’t want to stay for more than one night. The sink is in the room as the bathroom is so small. That said the room was spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable.
