As a Platinum member of Accor hotels I am frequently staying in Novotel. This time it was for leisure. The hotel was being renovated and building works were ongoing. The welcome experience was not great. Reception staff was not the most welcoming. The rooms were nice but it was extremely hot in the room and we were unable to bring the temperature down (opening a window was not an option due to the noise outside). We mentioned it when leaving on the next day and they promised to look into it.

Not what we were expecting. Room was very old, patio furniture not set up and there was carpet stains. I had higher expectations for this property. We checked out shortly after we arrived and went to a hotel that could cater our needs (traveling with a 2 year old).

The facilities are rather old, but it's very close to the subway, right by the roadside. It's not too far to walk to the old port. The shower is inside a bathtub, but the water pressure isn't very high. The hairdryer is a fixed unit on the wall. The room I was assigned to has a door that, according to the picture, connects to the next room, which doesn't feel right.

The Novotel brand needs no introduction; the hotel is well-equipped and the rooms are clean and hygienic. There's a market street right outside the hotel where you can buy fruits, food, flowers, clothing, and more!

People were completely unhelpful. They have a charging station for my rental electric car. Some guy called Elias told me it's impossible to use.
Also, there are bed bugs. I tried to sleep thinking the sheets were clean, but I had rashes on my body in the morning. My cousins in the next room the same. The Greek authorities on cleanliness would have stepped in immediately.
Breakfast selection of foods, residual warm foods, was inadequate and poor.
But more than anything, they don't even try to help you: you speak Greek, you speak English, they will still speak to you in French. Communication barrier very high. They need to understand we are not stupid just because we never learnt to speak French in our countries of origin. If they want tourists to book an otherwise overpriced stay, they should show compassion, understanding and never disrespect.

The location is very good. It is next to the subway entrance. The room is clean. I didn't find any disposable slippers. You can prepare them yourself. The front desk can help contact the airport.
