Hôtel Amoi Vieux Port - Marseille in Marseille

Old furniture, if your room faces the street, it's noisy, i ordered quiet room 20 days in advance, but didn't get such. Note: this might be the middle level for Marseille. It has hot water and bath though. And the personnel is polite. But my bathroom has no siphon so it gathers water on the floor when I wash the toilet with the shower. The floor of the room is not covered with carpet so you should bring slippers. The breakfast is basic.

Everything was small and old. Reality is so different than like at photos. It was the worst hotel that i’ve ever been. We couldn’t open door to the room, it was hard. At the room was bad smell. Door to the bathroom we couldn’t close. At the room was really cold. After 30 minutes I left hotel, because it was really bad. I must payed them all night because i was there maximum 30 minutes looking for other hotel. This hotel certainly do not recommend.

This hotel was really bad. I got a room supposed to be non smoker, but it smelled like cigarette. Also, during my stay there I had a water leak on my ceiling, it was not nice at all. The rooms are not so clean and the matress are not the best. The only good thing about them it's the nice people in the reception, at the end the gave me another room but when I wanted to cancel the booking, they didn't accept it. Also the location is great, just a few minutes walking from the vieux port and metro station.

I understand that you get what you pay for but in this case the hotel was clearly lying. The carpets were disgusting (at one point it was grey but it had large black stains all over), the ceilings had a lot of water damage and walls were crumbling in some corners. When we arrived I saw a sign that said they had no air conditioning. When I asked how long they knew this I was told a few weeks. We had only booked online a week prior which meant they were keeping this information from guests. When I asked to speak to a manager in order to get a a refund I was told that I would have to call her Tuesday (our check in day was Saturday). I would not recommend this hotel at all. For the same price or even cheaper there are much better accommodations.
