For the price - that's what you can expect I guess. It's by far most of the times the cheapest option to stay in Essen - yet the rooms are clean, all good. No personal actually on site - it's all done online, check-in, complaints management etc. The area where the hotel is located is a bit scary - but if you don't want to go out and just use the room to sleep, it's good value for price.

Super clean room & bathroom. Friendly personnel. Hotel is conveniently close to the city center. Right underneath the hotel is a huge Aldi supermarket.

I stayed in this place many times, the room is ok has everything what you need, the only complaint is the sink was blocked in the bathroom, that’s happened before with bathroom shower as well . I think that part need some maintenance service asap . Good access from highway 40, car park , a lots of shops around , recommend this place for short stay night

For the price the room delivers what I expected. The room is spacious, modern and clean. The bed is sturdy. The room has also enough power stations to charge.I love the free parking space and the location. The only critic is learning how to open the door using the code. I’ll definitely be back if I visit Essen in the future.

The location was excellent, and the room was clean and tidy. I particularly liked the self-check-in—easy and quick. My only minor criticism was that the sink drained a bit slowly. Overall, though, everything was very good, and I can recommend the hotel.

The staff was really friendly. The rooms were clean and we enjoyed it being so close to the train station and the pedestrian zone. One of the elevators was broken and we were there with a large group so that was a tiny bit unpleasant.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Ibis Styles Hotel in Gelsenkirchen while we were in town to watch the HSV match — and it turned out to be a great choice for the trip. The location is super convenient, right across from the main train station, so getting to the stadium and around the city was a breeze.

Very nice place with good price, rooms are good, there's a free wifi, lockable drawer, a wardrob, the bathroom are really good and the kitchen is even better. The first room of bunk beds was solid but other room of bunk beds was worse than the first one. Online booking is typically €25-€28 for a bed in multi-bed dorm but in person the person who bought my room was charged whole €42 for extending 1 night for bed in multi bed dorm room.

Friendly staff and interesting experience to stay two nights in the UNESCO area. Our room was cold and we couldn’t regulate the temperature but a receptionist quickly fixed the issue. I liked this hotel I liked this hotel, but you should not have too high expectations. It is a fairly stnadard hotel, not fancy in any way. The essentials were there, wifi worked ok, I had a large room, free parking just outside the door. No restaurant though but there were plenty nearby. Didn´t use the breakfast so cannot comment. Nice hotel This is a nice hotel at reasonable prices, situated in the citycentre. Certainly not a luxury hotel but good value for money. Very nice and attentative in the reception. I got a fairly big room with a balcony . also nice. I didn´t use the breakfast so cannot comment on that. Internet was stable and fairly fast. Located from 5-10 mins. walk from Essen Hbf. Very quiet and staff is helpful. Free one glass of beer or coke is available at the time of check-in. If you want to go shopping, go walk for 10 mins. and then you'll reach Limbecker Platz. There's REWE (supermarket) and you can grab some German sweets for gifts. :)

A good place located in the city centre. Very good spot to crash in for a short stay in Essen.

This is a good budget hotel. Try to get a room in the main building. Rooms in the annexes are smaller and need updating. Our rooms were a good size. Clean but maybe a little tired looking. Perfect place to stay if you are attending an event at Veltins Arena. The lovely young lady at the front desk even gave a small group of us a ride to the venue. And she was so pleasant and friendly. We even walked back to the hotel after the concert and it was a nice, safe trip. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. This property delivered exactly what we were looking for.

Unusually large room. Nice and clean. Only let down is the lack of air conditioning. Would not recommend going there to stay when the evenings are warm. Yes, they provide free standing fans, but they are too noisy for my liking. Great staff.

The hotel's environment and location are both good, though the rooms are a bit small. The breakfast is also quite good, making it worth a subsequent stay. If you need help, you can contact the front desk staff, who speak English and provide decent service.

Not much facilities (no fridge in room, no water provided...), and no gym facilities - but that is fine with the very reasonable price point. I feel scammed by either Trip or BB hotel. BB Essen-Nord have a check in machine for late arrival outside reception hours. I also let them know couple of days before that i would arrive late in the request section. I arrived arround 01:00 but the maschine could not find my booking. The room was small, the elevator was tiny, but overall it was okay. It was Halloween, and there weren't many rooms available in the nearby hotels. The most frustrating thing was at 10 am; the staff knocked on the door, and when I didn't respond within ten seconds, they opened it without me even getting dressed… I won't be coming back.

The overall feeling is good, free parking, it feels like it is in an industrial area, so it may be inconvenient to take public transportation if you don't drive, the front desk service is warm and thoughtful, the room size is OK, the overall feeling is good!

Not a high price hotel, but offers the main you necessities you need, ranging from morning free breakfast to nice packing and quiet locations. Thing to improve though is their clean of rooms though. But the staffs are super nice and understandable.
