Where to stay in Essen

Reasonable price and located very close to the train station. The staff were helpful and friendly. The route from the station to the hotel is obscured by trees and can be unsafe when walking late at night.

The room is small little bit, but it is very clean good very friendly reception stuff in general. It’s very good hotel.

Extraordinary buildings renovated in a lovely way to fulfill the five star feeling of the hotel (this really old stone and brick castle). Fireplaces with live fires going in the evenings are cosy. Located from 5-10 mins. walk from Essen Hbf. Very quiet and staff is helpful. Free one glass of beer or coke is available at the time of check-in. If you want to go shopping, go walk for 10 mins. and then you'll reach Limbecker Platz. There's REWE (supermarket) and you can grab some German sweets for gifts. :)

Perfect place to stay if you are attending an event at Veltins Arena. The lovely young lady at the front desk even gave a small group of us a ride to the venue. And she was so pleasant and friendly. We even walked back to the hotel after the concert and it was a nice, safe trip. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. This property delivered exactly what we were looking for.

For the price - that's what you can expect I guess. It's by far most of the times the cheapest option to stay in Essen - yet the rooms are clean, all good. No personal actually on site - it's all done online, check-in, complaints management etc. The area where the hotel is located is a bit scary - but if you don't want to go out and just use the room to sleep, it's good value for price.

For the price the room delivers what I expected. The room is spacious, modern and clean. The bed is sturdy. The room has also enough power stations to charge.I love the free parking space and the location. The only critic is learning how to open the door using the code. Great location, just by Essen central station and the Christmas markets a short walk. And it has a small 24 hour gym. But I had noisy neighbours upstairs that persisted throughout, and the breakfast is very basic.

Idyllic hotel in a quiet area but with good local transportation connections to Düsseldorf airport and Essen. The hotel has a good restaurant, bar and a 9-pin bowling alley. The rooms and the breakfast are quite basic, but serve their purpose. Overall I think you get really good value for your money when staying in this hotel.
