The hotel was excellent and the staff was really supportive. We visited during the Christmas season.

Parking is a bit expensive. Breakfast offers limited choice

The location is perfect, situated near great restaurants and offering easy access to the city center and main train station. Highly recommend this hotel!

Both trip com and the Hilton website mentioned a balcony being included in the room we selected it wascthe main reason we chose tgis hotel over others. Unfortunately, on arrival, we were informed there are no balconies for any rooms in the hotel. The room itself was ok. No fridge in the accessible room. I'm uncertain why the difference? The location is walking distance to PT, the old town, restaurants...

Hotel is located ~8 min from tram station and has private parking lots available. Room was clean and the breakfast was good for its price. Overall we had a great stay at this hotel.

The hotel is about 12 minutes away on tram from the central station and closed to the tram station and supermarkets. Breakfast is in good variety and food are to its standards for a 3-star hotel. The room is clean with renovated bathroom.

Very conveniently located at the Freiburg train station and around shopping district. However the hotel room is so basic. It’s what u pay and what u get. Initially when checked in found room without fridge, that’s funny. All std rooms looks the same regardless of business or std. service counter was damned lousy, not very friendly, fake expression, just took us like an alien coming over to Germany...

Location 10/10 . So handy for taking trams or trains or just walking into the town. Stayed here 4 nights. Had a twin room with fridge. Small shower room but adequate and the shower was good. If only this hotel got rid of the horrible stained carpet in the room it would be perfect. We didn’t have breakfast - 21euros seemed a bit over the top when there are so many cafes nearby.

Hotel was quiet and just next to the train station. Very convenient to get food and within walking distance to the town area for sightseeing and hiking. Did not have breakfast @ the hotel. Receptionist was helpful with recommendations for food and hiking options.

The hotel was perfectly located between the high speed train station and the old city. The rooms and the breakfast met the **** expectations. What irritated me was the broken payments terminal: the card numbers had to introduced by hand. Hence my debet card was refused and I had to solve it for Accor with my credit card.

Freiburg's inhabitants are 1000 farmers and their disinherited descendants plus 100000 exchange students who stay there for six months. Smell of party&weed is all around. Food&Housing are terribly expensive, the quality of food&service is terribly low (students serving). Excellent choice for families! Novotel Freiburg is comfortable, clean, and very family-friendly. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast is rich, and the location is perfect for exploring the city on foot. The staff was always kind and helpful, making us feel truly welcome. The hotel is in a good location, with a parking lot underground, but the service is a bit average. My colleague told the front desk that he would check out one day in advance, and they agreed. But after checking out, the hotel called to claim the money.

The rooms ar very clean and neat. Everything you can expect from a very good hotel. I recommend them to expand the Menu though. Clean, new and well maintained property. Very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel locates just right opposite of the train station and about 10 minutes to the town.

I paid 150Euro in July 20. But they dont refund it yet.

It was an incredible stay, staff was wonderful, so helpful and so pleasant. The thing I will remember the most about the hotel, was the smell, it smelled so good when you walk in, like a fresh spa, so relaxing and inviting

Overall the Hotel was fantastic. Train comes right in front so access to transportation couldn’t be better. Bed could be a bit softer. Hard as rock!

Was a fantastic room shower etc with balcony, however we were woken at around 7 by workers opposite our room this is unacceptable we're on holiday and had a long days ride we needed our rest plus no food at all we had to order a takeaway and we had only 1 pillow each which thin and soft

The hotel is located about 4.5 km from Freiburg, but is very easy to reach. There's a bus stop right outside. The reception staff were very friendly and accommodating. They need to improve immediately We stay 4 nights, 3 times in a row the towels were not changed without our request, twice the bed linen was not changed, once the room was not cleaned at all. Besides, it's not a good idea to put two twin beds together and to call it double bed.

There is no air conditioning, it's so hot. The breakfast is OK. There are many elderly people who are doing rehabilitation next to us.

Nice property in a quiet location. The crowd was definitely much older than I expected (all grey hair with a lot of canes or walking sticks). I believe that there is a physical therapist located nearby. It did matter. My only complaint was that the room didn’t have AC and it was warm that evening. They provided a fan and it was enough for the heat.

The room was ok but they didn’t clean the room even if we stayed there for 3 nights. I know that in this part of Germany they ask you if you want to skip the cleaning but they did not ask us.

Good place for a stopover when traveling, nicely situated in the city center, so good for food and drinks. Rooms are clean and have all you need for 1 night . Staf is friendly and nice. Parking might be an issue when the garage is full, we managed to park right in front of the hotel. Was slightly moer expensive but it was good. I would go there again next time!

Accommodation in Freiburg The hotel is close to the hill where we can reach easily for a pleasant walk. From the city centre is few blocks away and it is possible to go by walk. As it was extremely hot during my stay, a small fan (no air conditioning) did not help a lot!

So to start we reserved a three night stay and exited to begin our 14 day Christmas Market adventure in Freiburg. Unfortunately this ended up a C Plus rating compared to many other hotels visited in a similar category. Staff were awkward around guests and not all that friendly…. with a few exceptions. Our room was uncomfortably warm and even with two calls to reception the only answer was open a window...

The only place to stay in Freiburg . I love this hotel . Fabulous ! The bar and music ( live piano ) has been a ‘staple ‘ for so many years and I love it . Herr L(j) ordan in the coffee / afternoon restaurant bar was so lovely ( very professional , discreet and respectful of the many ages ) and a great asset to the Columbi philosophy .

In principle a nice hotel, not cheap, on an excellent location in the city of Freiburg. However, we requested upfront extra attention for the cleaning of the room, because my wife has a dust allergy. The room was really dirty... the management did not even apologize.

I visited the restaurant many times and was never disappointed. Excellent quality food and service. Attention to detail. I feel truly valued as a patron. Even going for tea or coffee and sweets is an experience to truly enjoy. A reservation is recommended during busy times.

This is a very old and outdated hotel. However, that being said, it was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very nice as well. It is also located in a great walkable area.

Pleasant stay Pleasant stay overall! Very clean and comfortable except that the beds were very very firm/hard. Also the A/C seems more like a fan than traditional cooling. Fortunately the weather was cool and breezy so we were able to open the windows.

Good ubication. Close to public transport and with a supermarket in front. If you go by car there is a gas station 200 meters away. Spacious room and food. Correct mattresses. Pillows could be improved. Ok bathroom with ok water pressure and hot-cold ok. The 24 hour reception works well and they were very friendly.

The hotel asked us to pay again when we checked out. It does not make sense to ask a traveling guest to bear the burden of providing payment evidence. It ruined the good mood of travel in the following days.

Authentic German atmosphere. Staff is friendly, breakfast is good. the room was a bit old fashioned but very clean. The closed position to the motorway to Basel (7/8 mins) makes this hotel a good point to stop for the night during long transfers.

We were a huge family (23 people) from all around the world meeting for our annual vacation. Facilities were above we expected, large rooms, air conditioning (!), great shower, impeccable outdoor pool. Breakfast was phantastic. Room is clean and the toilet has a heater. Hotel is also walking distance to the train station - about 8 mins by walk. The only downside is that there are stairs leading to the hotel. Something inconvenient especially with luggages.

It was conveniently located in the center of Freiburg, and the hotel was clean. However, they charge a city tax separately, and I don't think that's the hotel's problem.

Parking issues are probably similar throughout Germany; the system isn't very automated, and the staff were in a rush, speaking too quickly and making it difficult to understand. In the end, I just parked wherever I could find a spot. I told them I had already paid online, but they insisted I pay at the front desk. Luckily, Ctrip's service was excellent and resolved the issue promptly.

It's a clean and reliable brand, so I stay often. However, I was disappointed to see that the parking fee was expensive and that the car was leaving without paying the parking fee.

We had the perfect stay at this hotel while in Freiburg. We loved it so much that we even recommended it on our website. :) The staff is super friendly, the breakfast is good and they offered free drinks at the bar if you help save water by refusing the daily turn-down service if you don't really need it. It’s my third time at stuub freiburg and once again an excellent experience! Very clean and well laid out rooms, efficient kitchen, friendly customer service. The hotel is dog friendly as well which is a big plus. It is close to the bus stop that takes you into the centre, and the supermarket is steps away.

I reached Freiburg as an international student and I was worried that I might not be very comfortable studying in a hotel .. But it was the total opposite!! It was truly a comfortable place (Strong WIFI) with a nice balcony and a cute kitchenette. The staff were SUPER FRIENDLY ! They were very accommodating ! If I had to add one small remark .. I would have wished for the hotel room to have a big mirror...

The restaurant food was good, however the service was not enough to wait for the dishes -we have waited for about 1 hour to get our dishes. This isn't a reasonable time to wait .

I had dinner here with my husband. I had low temperature cooked beef and my husband had salmon. The food was amazing and the service was very friendly.
