This is my new favorite hotel in Munich. A kind of hotel you don’t find in many places anymore. A small, welcoming and authentic, family run hotel in a beautiful building with rich history. The rooms are simple but spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The breakfast excellent and the service very friendly and accommodating for their guests.

the location is good - near the university and a train station on the corner. downtown is just 2 train stops away. the room itself is comfortable because the weather was good. There were 2 single beds that are pushed together. It has a private bathroom and shower. The bathroom is recently tiled and is clean. No air conditioning but we didn’t need it. Under the bed and in the corners were a bit dusty. However to get to the room was daunting for two older women. It is located in a building that was reconstructed after the war in 1945-1955. The room is located on the 5th floor. After you go thru the lockbox to get the keys, you go thru main door, up about 7 steps, then to an elevator. The elevator is a wire cage with old worn wood paneling with weights that feels like it is original equipment from the 50’s. You can see the pulleys working. Then another locked door to a hallway with rooms. The hallway is musty like an attic, feels like walking through your great grandmother’s house. Played havoc with my allergies.

Absolutely FANTASTIC hotel! I almost never write reviews on Google, but Tanja and her team deserve it. The building had such character, in a wonderful area with beautiful views of LMU and the Siegestor. The rooms were clean and well-equipped, and the free breakfast was outstanding. Plus, the team went above and beyond to be helpful, with flexibility on check-in and check-out and little extras that make the stay all that more enjoyable. Not to mention, it's all outstanding value for money. Highly recommended!

Clean rooms, great location. Multiple toilets/showers per floor, more than enough for the rooms. Delicious breakfast and great service. The location can't be beat - 5 minutes from the English Garden, 2 minutes from the subway, easy access to the old town.

The only issue was the parking, I had to search a bit for a spot, ended up a couple of minutes away from the hotel. That said, there are many spots along the street, just need to be a bit lucky or there at the right time

Pension am Siegestor is a great base for exploring Munich. The room was large and comfortable, and we were made to feel very welcome. The breakfast was the icing on the cake... a large spread of breads, cheeses, meats, yoghurt, cereals as well as lots of delicious homemade jams, and more that we were too full to try! We'll definitely stay here again next time we are in Munich.

Very nice building and super close to the city center, the room was clean and quiet, the toilets were also spacious and clean. Super nice staff, and good breakfast available (additional 10 euros).

Everything about this hotel was great! The woman in charge, Tanja, was very welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean, the breakfast was great, and the location was ideal for sightseeing in Munich. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Munich!

The location is why this place is worth every penny. It’s centrally located inside the city of Munich making it easy to get to all the must see places.

The manager Tanja is a sweet heart. We were not able to check in during the time frame but she sent us a detailed set of instructions on how to get to our room without an official check in.

The room was clean with very comfy pillows and blankets. Their is no AC which is common in German hotels, but with the window open we had no problems with being too hot or too cold.

The bathrooms are shared but are clean and close to the rooms. There are three toilets available if one is full so that was never an issue.

The breakfast is included with the stay. Hot tea/coffee, bread, meats, cheeses, and home made jams were a tasty treat.

The building itself is a classic piece of architecture, an experience you don’t want to miss. This hotel truly is a hidden gem.

Danke schön Tanja
