Nice and clean hotel that is walking distance to train station and old town

The service was good and the environment was okay, but the bedding in our room wasn't changed. When I touched it, it didn't feel like the usual crisp, laundered hotel sheets. After sleeping one night, I broke out in a rash... I stayed for three days and had a rash all three days.

It was okay. Overall, hotels abroad aren't as convenient as those in China.

Location:
Nestled just steps from Munich Central Station, the Leonardo Hotel offers an unbeatable base for exploring the city. You’re within easy walking distance of the historic city centre and surrounded by plenty of public‑transport links and a good selection of nearby restaurants.

Room:
The room is compact but surprisingly comfortable. It comes stocked with a complimentary espresso machine and bottled water—a nice touch for budget‑conscious travelers. The bathroom is clean, though the shower leaked past the glass door, letting water onto the floor—a minor inconvenience that could be fixed (Room No. 410).

Facilities:
Unfortunately, the lift was out of service for the entire stay, which made accessing the fourth‑floor room a hassle, especially with luggage. Aside from that, the hotel’s basic amenities were functional.

Breakfast:
The morning buffet is adequate but limited in variety. It won’t wow you, but it gets the job done.

Service:
The front‑desk staff stand out. The receptionist was friendly and helpful.

Overall rating: 3 / 5 – solid location and courteous staff offset the small room, shower leak, and non‑working elevator. Ideal for travelers who prioritize proximity to Munich’s sights and don’t mind a few quirks.

booked this hotel for one night as we had to leave for Frankfurt the next day. As soon as I entered the room, there was an unpleasant smell. After taking a shower, water started very slowly flowing into the room, which was uncomfortable. The location of the hotel is good, and the room itself was otherwise okay. I have stayed at other branches of this hotel, which were much better this particular one did not meet the same standards

Very disappointing experience.
Unfortunately, my stay at the Leonardo Hotel in Munich was extremely disappointing. The hotel and the rooms were not clean, and the room was very small and completely different from the pictures shown at the time of booking, which was misleading.
The heating was not working, even though it is December, and the room was uncomfortably cold throughout the stay.
Another issue was the parking: it is inside but uncovered, and my car was left exposed to the weather. It actually snowed on the car. The only positive aspects were the staff, who were kind and helpful, and the hotel’s location, which is excellent and very convenient.
Overall, the negative aspects far outweighed the positives, and I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

I recently stayed at the Leonardo Hotel in Munich’s city center and while the staff were truly wonderful—friendly, attentive, and eager to help—the accommodations left much to be desired. The rooms felt outdated and lacked the comfort I expected at this price point. The shower doors didn’t close properly, causing water to leak onto the bathroom floor, and the towels provided were quite small. Amenities were minimal—just shampoo and soap, with no body lotion or other thoughtful touches. For $1500 over four nights, I expected a far more polished and comfortable experience. Sadly, the value just wasn’t there. Despite the excellent staff, I wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

3 minutes from main railway station, it has its advantages and drawbacks: very convenient to travel with luggage, but surroundings are far from romantic (a lot of migrants around and the environment doesn't feel very safe). However, Aldi supermarket is just 3 minutes walk from it. As to the hotel, the room is clean, spacious and neat, but very dark! Almost no light (this is the design of the room).

We only stayed for one night in order to catch the early train. If this is your situation, this hotel is a perfect option. But when we were taking shower , the water got clogged and wouldn’t drain, overflowing all over the floor.

The good: hotel staff is friendly and helpful. We had some concerns about management but got them figured out.
The room is clean and has plenty of space. Housekeeping staff is very efficient and thoughtful.

The awesome: breakfast!! My goodness! Beautiful display and delicious. The ladies are a joy and really take good care of you.

The ugly: our room is a freaking oven. We can handle heat (being from Texas), but the room is hotter than outside (86f) and even two fans don't help. Hard to adjust to the time change and daily tours when sleep is hindered due to heat. Open windows not an option with youth hostel across the street. Come when it is cold outside.
