Reviews
⭐ 9/10
💰 Value for money: 10/10
A refined luxury hotel in an exceptional Potsdamer Platz location. The rooms are generously sized at approximately 40 sqm, perfectly proportioned, with an interior executed to near perfection. The atmosphere is calm and composed, and the service is polished, discreet, and highly professional.
Luxury hospitality is ultimately remembered less by rules than by judgment and generosity. When pricing or policies feel disproportionate, the moment lingers longer than the gesture itself—and guests inevitably carry that memory forward. A more flexible approach would have elevated an otherwise outstanding experience.
An exceptional hotel overall, offering remarkable value within its category.
The amenities were excellent, offering everything I needed and more, and the service was consistently warm, attentive, and professional. On top of that, the location is perfect — close to key attractions, restaurants, and great transport links.
Overall, a wonderful experience. I’d be happy to stay here again.
Breakfast was absolutely top-class, and we ended up dining at POTS more than once — it was that good.
The staff strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and professional, making us feel completely at home.
Highly recommended!
Two things I would improve: 1. update hinges on the toilet seat/lid so they don’t slam down and echo around that marble bathroom. 2. A/C could be stronger; had it on min temp max fan and still had to pull the covers aside a couple times overnight.
I would happily return, especially as we didn’t have the chance to try the brunch this visit 😊😊
First, although the hotel is advertised as pet-friendly, we were confronted by a staff member after our cat accidentally had an accident on the bed. We had already cleaned up as best as we could and informed the staff proactively. Despite this, the woman who came to the room spoke to us with a very unfriendly attitude and told us that cats were not allowed—contradicting both the hotel’s website and the written confirmation we received before booking. We even saw other guests previously staying here with cats, and all our interactions with staff in the lounge had been friendly until that moment. The male staff member who came to clean was visibly uncomfortable and cold, making the whole experience feel judgmental and unpleasant.
Additionally, we experienced multiple service issues:
• We placed an online food order late at night that never arrived. We stayed up waiting, but eventually went to bed hungry. No one informed us of a cancellation or issue.
• When requesting towels, we were told they would be brought immediately. We ended up waiting for 20 minutes, which, although not very long, disrupted our plans because we had to stay in the room waiting.
• The small chocolate Easter dessert placed in our room upon arrival was never cleared, even days after it had been opened. It had cream on it, and since the trash bins in the room are uncovered, we couldn’t dispose of it safely ourselves. Our cat ended up eating some of it and later had diarrhea. It was disappointing that housekeeping didn’t notice or remove it, especially when cleaning daily.
On top of that, the in-room environment was not as clean or comfortable as we expected. Service felt inconsistent and often impersonal, which is not something you expect from a luxury hotel. The only positive experience we had was with the doormen—they were consistently friendly and welcoming, and truly gave us a warm impression.
We chose The Ritz-Carlton expecting excellence, but unfortunately, we received very little of it.
