Where to stay in Berlin

I would rate this hotel 3.5 out of 4. Its location is excellent—right in the heart of Alexanderplatz, surrounded by public transport, plenty of food options, grocery stores, and nearby sights. However, through no fault of the hotel, it sits very close to a church whose bells ring extremely loudly at 8 a.m. every morning. Even with earplugs, I was woken up daily. The hotel is conveniently located near Alexanderplatz metro station and a tram stop at the intersection. There are vending machines and a lounge area on the first floor. The rooms are clean and tidy.

Clean room and friendly staff at check in. We arrived at midday but were able to check in straight away - without having to wait until the advertised 3pm checkin time.

Great location to Alexanderplatz and trains, just a quick jaunt. Hotel was average, budget. Didn't find the staff particularly friendly. The breakfast was decent for a quick fill up before you start your day. Location was good but would opt for a different hotel if back in town

Clean beautiful and well organised. I would be traveling to Poland with flixbus and the bus station was right beside the hotel so perfect location for road travelers imo.

The location is next to the Berlin bus station, which is all I can think of as a good thing. The room cleanliness was so-so, and the price wasn't exactly budget-friendly.

The hotel is very close to the bus station and there is a fast food restaurant downstairs. It is also not far from the convention center and has a good location.

The location is very good. The room is very clean and lacks some necessary appliances such as a refrigerator. It is very convenient to go to the exhibition and you can walk there.

The facilities are too old, and they feel worse than those of more than 200 hotels in China 😅, but it is indeed close to the FESPA exhibition. I walk to the exhibition every day, saving taxi fare.

Fantastic hotel! We stayed in one of the apartment rooms with sofa bed, it had everything we could want- plates, cutlery, glasses, coffee machine, fridge freezer with ice! Hotel was in a great position for SBahn. Situated in the Mitte area near museum island and Berlin Cathedral. Alrxanderplatz was a 15 minute walk. An awesome location to explore Berlin from. Very clean and tidy hotel, we felt comfortable during our stay there. Had a small view too, which was awesome! Bathroom ventilation was a small, but manageable, issue. Great to have space for luggage, recommend looking above the smallest size room if staying for more than two nights (we’re so glad we did)!

Perfect location for visiting Berlin and few minutes from train station to airport. Room lighting was a bit dark but apartment was perfect for family of four. A bit of noise from neighbors but not really from outside so we had a great night sleep. Lovely views from the rooftop. Highly recommend!

Good location, good service, reasonable price, but the lighting in the room needs to be upgraded.

The hotel itself was really nice and the reception staff always polite. I found one or two of the breakfast staff a little rude at times. We found the room to be quite small with little space to put general things out. One thing that was missing was tea and coffee making facilities, I can’t remember when I was in a hotel without this. All in all, though, it was a comfortable stay.

We had a great stay at Myers - very helpful front desk staff, lovely bar (could use a dry Rose wine :) ), really comfortable beds. And the neighbourhood is wonderful.

An absolutely gorgeous hotel! Beautifully setup with huge suites and a fantastic breakfast. The staff were all lovely and could not have been more helpful. Room was clean and location was convenient. Stayed for three days and had no problems. The staff were all helpful and polite. I’d say the only drawback was the bathroom could have been cleaner but it was no issue.

What stood out was the breakfast, so tasty and good, the staff were also very nice. The room was ok, a few small things that they should take care of otherwise it will quickly become a 2 star hotel.

Stayed 5 nights. Hotel in quiet street currently without through traffic as building work going on at the end of the road. Close to bus stop for 200 - we walked from main station through Tiergarden which took 45 minutes! Very close to Tiergarden (we heard nightingales) , 10 minutes from zoo. Room had microwave, kettle, fridge and stove, ask at reception if you needs plates or pots etc.. Reception closes...

The staff were helpful in extending our check out even without us asking. The kitchenette in the room was great! We could make simple meals when we wanted or were too tired to go out. The cookies at the reception were fantastic: too bad they were only available for a limited time every day.

Great place to stay when visiting Berlin. Within walking distance to the center of the city…. About a mile to 11/2 miles depending on where you are going.  The staff are very friendly and helpful.  They also have a great breakfast buffet with very attentive staff.   I’ll definitely recommend this place.  And wouldn’t mind staying there again on my next visit to Berlin.

The location is fantastic, very close to Checkpoint Charlie with convenient access to the subway. The front desk staff were wonderful, smiling warmly and patiently speaking German with my child.

I stayed at The Garner for two nightsand had a relaxing, enjoyable experience overall. The hotel is situated right by everything . I had the pleasure of staying at the yard for 10 days this past July. From check in to check out, the service was friendly and effecient. I stayed in large room and the room was spacious, cool, and had a great shower. The location was ideal for our purposes, it was a nice walk to the transit station and places of interest in Kreuzberg. Comfy beds, decent location as it sits right at the Berlin East Station. Value for money is just "acceptable" as there are better deals in the area, i.e. better value for money ratio close by. Just compare. Especially the breakfast I do not recommend for the price of EUR 19...better go out to some brunch restaurant nearby and have a decent breakfast for that money.

Great hotel if you are staying for a concert. For me it was the Enhypen concert. The walk to the Uber took about 15 minutes and the roads are safe too. It's also close to the train station so it's great for visiting other places in Berlin. The rooms were clean and the price was reasonable.

Rolled into Big Mama for the skating marathon, and rolled out 5 nights later. David at reception? Absolute legend. Gave me advice with a wink, connections with a grin, and the kind of tips you definitely won’t find on TripAdvisor.

Marlen at the front desk was phenomenal! She remembered us in our short stay and when we had an issue with the shower draining she promptly moved us to a new room! She made the experience awesome! She is what every employer wants in their staff!

The team at BIG MAMA were kind and helpful throughout my stay. The room was clean and it felt safe for a solo female traveller. The location of the hotel is close to a train station and tram stop but I hired a bicycle which is by far the best way to explore Berlin!

Metro 500 meters away. Quiet, calm, beautiful. Nearby are streets with luxury shops.

The room is OK, the hygiene is OK, but I don't know how breakfast will be served.

The facilities are old and the hygiene is average, but they are cleaned every day. There are no basic facilities, including cups for drinking water. The only good thing is that the breakfast is good. The price is too high.

Delightful staff and rooms! We loved our suite and especially the spa/pool.

We booked a Suite with Balcony, Room 20, for 4 nights in late August. Wonderful, would stay again! Note – if you speak no German or need a soft bed, you may struggle conversing with the front desk staff or struggle sleeping as the mattresses are relatively firm. Friendly staff, and clean room. The location of the hotel is quite far from the city center but public transportation and bus/tram are located in front of the hotel. 2 euros for a bottle of water in the room? For me if I go to Berlin next time I will not book in this hotel.

Rooms road side are exposed to much street noise. Because there's no air-conditioning, you have to sleep with the windows open. So bring ear plugs. Rooms are tiny. So you have to do your Yoga in the hall. Beds are OK. Showers clean enough. Rooms are clean. For a summer season, it's not that great. They do provide a fan. It really needs modern air conditioning. Not bad for Berlin prices.

Super Hotel...home away from home

There is a terrible terrible smell in the elevator. I’ve never experienced anything like it before. It smelled like an old and moldy dishrag. The drain in the shower didn’t work too well, so there was a big puddle in the shower shortly after starting it. Otherwise the location is good and the bed is comfortable.

Nice hotel Nice hotel, breakfast superb but served at the hotel next door. Cleaning lady was eager to clean, knocked on the door very early. The AC didnt work these days, and the traffic outside was crazy. But other than that, i had a nice stay

Good choice in a great area of Berlin Stayed for one night and it was alright. Located in my favorite area in Berlin. Staff was helpful and room was clean and spaceous. The only minus is that there is a busy road next to the hotel, which was a bit noisy. While this didn't bother me, light sleepers might want to request a room that is not directly facing the road.

Staff was very kind and location is good. Curtains don't block out all the light so it is hard to sleep in. Hallways got noisy in the mornings with other guests and housekeeping staff. Decent value for the money.

Everything was fine. The hotel is fine for a three-day trip. However, breakfast hasn't been served since February. It was offered as an option for booking. It didn't bother us, but it should be rectified.

Overall we had a nice stay. Room and bathroom were nice, spacious and comfortable. Perfect if you enjoy staying in the Friedrichshain area. However, one of the receptionists’ lack of skills to communicate and the fact that rooms weren’t soundproof did decrease the overall experience.

I had a fantastic experience during my stay at Wyndham Garden Berlin Mitte. The room is very clean & warm, the hotel staffs are very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was also great! pretty nice!! me and my boyfriend stayed for a few nights and we both enjoyed it. it was clean, good service and good pizza. we could hear the strong wind from outside tho, but nothing extremely annoying. like an hour walking from city center.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. From the pictures, it looked old and the decor seemed like it was from the 90s, but after checking in, I found the environment to be surprisingly good, and most importantly, very clean. However, the hotel is located in a less safe area of Berlin, so it's best not to go out at night.

The IntercityHotel at Berlin Central Station is better than the one at Ostbahnhof (East Station). I'd recommend choosing the Central Station location. The IntercityHotel at Ostbahnhof feels a bit old and isn't soundproof at all; not only that, but it doesn't block odors either. There was always a strange smell in the hallway.

The kettle pot is dirty w residue. Lots of stains stuck inside the pot. The L2 room has a direct afternoon sun n make the room warm and luckily has a standing fan but it has loose press button & stand support, need to upgrade.
