I stayed only once at Hotel Maxim Düsseldorf City for just 3 nights, but everything was very good. The single rooms are quite small but sufficient for one person. The breakfast was very good and ample. The staff at the reception and kitchen were very friendly and helpful with anything you need.

I came here to stay for 4 nights leading up to Christmas as part of a solo trip. Initially the stay was very smooth as the rooms were quite clean and I was quite satisfied. But on the second night after coming back, I was told I had to move to another hotel by tomorrow morning due to renovations over Christmas. I agreed seeing that I can’t do anything else. As the hotel was a 20-30 minutes walk away and I had a lot of baggage, I asked later whether they could cover the costs of a taxi and the receptionist pointed at her phone saying she’ll help me call one. The next morning I checked out at 9:30am and took the taxi but the taxi driver made me pay him the fare of €8 instead. The replacement hotel was great with a better view though it was a lot further from the main station too. Overall the stay could have been great but the hassle of the last minute change and having to pay the extra cost of the taxi left a really bad taste.

A house with a great price/performance ratio. Was marred the good impression by the weak staffing at the front Desk. As I wanted to in the evening back to the Hotel, I had to wait 10 minutes in front of a closed door. Somewhere else I wasn't able to go. My things were in the Hotel. It is specially pointed out, the key is not to take, but each time at the gate. So a Flock of people, who were neither able to clean not out and collected then after the inside and outside.
The 2. A lack of the ongoing construction works in the object. This is expected, but probably in the short term, with improvement.

Were there only for a night. The room was really very small and up on a bed and a tiny table, a chair and a wardrobe was still there. So actually, everything is available. Just not the latest and greatest. A 24-hour reception Desk and also the CheckIn was before the time indicated.

Very good price/quality rate. Clean and cozy rooms, perfect service, good location. Would choose it again if visit Duesseldorf.

Nice hotel, not so expensive. The good thing of this hotel is the position. 10/15 mins walk to the main train station. Plus it's situated in a little square with restaurants and lounge bars.

Me and my boyfriend both agreed after 6 days at maxim novum that we NEVER will visit this hotel or any other maxim again.
We even decided to stay our last prepaid night somewhere else since we didn't want to stay at a place like this anymore. So it was worth the money loss.
We were false accused of taking other people to out room and to be loud when we weren't even i our room. The cleaning service left a lot of garbage in our room, and room-neighbours could hear you coming home in the hallway at night, which even while being as quite as possible would wake them up. Very sorry, but whispering was the only way only communicating in your room after 19:00 which is ridiculous. But even if you use the "don't disturb" sign, knocking and yelling by both personal (which even thought it is ok to quite make a fool of you because of our age) and cleaning service (that neither spoke german or english understandable) is totally fine. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone out there, it's just a really really bad joke.

We did apologize the times we seemed to be loud since we didn'y knew how thin the walls were, but all the false accusations we got even after being able to prove they were false didn't even received a little apology for, and after 3 days at the hotel I already felt unwelcome, and did not want to go back but my boyfriend did persuade me.

The only thing I am glad for is that this useless hotel did NOT totally ruin our trip to my hometown, but I am still very angry just thinking of our stay. Stupid enough we paid in advance and sadly lost our money for the last night we chose to stay somewhere else. But the loss was worth it.

We have stayed with Maxim hotel several times and we've had no major problems. The staff are professional and prompt, the rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the location is convenient. Basically, world-class service at a budget price.

I would say that it is really good balance between price and quality! The room was with basic equipment but it was clean and in good condition. The breakfast was nice with all necessary food which you would expect for a morning time. I would not say that this hotel is suitable for a family with little children but I had a nice stay with my wife and 2 years old daughter. I recommend it for a budget stay.
Only issue is a small bathroom however it is not critical one

While the area is quite nice the hotel did not really meet my expectations (at least the ones created by the pictures I saw before my arrival). The room was clean but very small, the WiFi did not work at all and the breakfast was just OK. On the flip side it had nice views to the park place in front of the hotel.
