Calypso Palace Hotel in Faliraki

The hotel is clearly tailored almost exclusively for German tourists, which felt quite unwelcoming for those of us who are not German. The staff at reception did not speak English, making communication difficult. The bathroom design is also poor — when you shower, water splashes out even if you press yourself against the shower wall, resulting in a flooded floor.

On a positive note, the food was excellent and the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience with reception. My husband got sick and needed some extra rest before our flight, so we asked for a late check-out and offered to pay for it. They refused, claiming the hotel was fully booked — but when I checked online, rooms were still available on Booking.com.

All in all, we had a nice holiday, but due to these issues, especially the sense of being treated differently, I wouldn’t return.

We had a room with a pool and only used the pool twice. It was dirty and even when cleaned out it was still gross with dead bugs floating around and dirt and sand on the floor. See attached photos. The view from the room was a white cliff face, this got boring to look at fast. Getting to the room was a pain. It's 2 lifts and 2 sets of stairs and we had a push chair. The location isn't the best either. I'd recommend going to lindos as the weather is better and it's such nicer place. The food in the hotel was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. Back tot he pool, as the back of the hotel didn't get the sun till mid-afternoon the pool was freezing. I can see this being different in the height of summer.

Rooms looks kinda old but nice service, food and pool.
