Matoula Beach Hotel in Ialyssos

We stayed at Matoula Beach for a week in early October. Initially we were allocated a very small room. When we mentioned this to reception, we were transferred to a lovely spacious pool view room. The hotel had a pleasant relaxed atmosphere, and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. A really comfortable stay - and highly recommended.

We had a lovely time at matoula beach...our second holiday here and was as good as the first one. This year we stayed bed & breakfast and we had some delicious meals in the nearby tavernas, there are at least 3 very nearby. The staff at matoula are so kind and friendly and very efficient too nothing is too much trouble and the place is always so clean and welcoming We took the hotel bus to Rhodes town (good value) which is a great place lots to see and so many nice bars & restaurants Thank you everyone at Matoula for a wonderful stay

Just returned from 2 weeks at Matoula Beach and what a fantastic holiday. Staff here were so lovely and helpful. Set in lovely grounds. Decking around the pool and garden area. Yes some of the sun beds are a little worn but there were plenty to choose from. Breakfast was varied including fruits, breads, hot and cold Buffet (worth noting if you’re gluten free there’s little choice but you can get a small gf loaf from local supermarket and take a couple slices into breakfast to add with egg, meat or whatever ) . Entertainment 3 nights a week. Greek night was lovely. Well worth going. Beds made daily and linens changed regularly. Around 8 local bars / restaurants within 10 minute walk or main centre is a 40 min walk or on local bus. Shuttle from hotel to Rhodes town is definitely great value. And a must to visit night and day. Mymarket supermarket is a 10 minute walk set on main road and has everything you could need and a Lovely coffee and doughnut shop next door All in all a fantastic holiday with lovely people

Staff were all very friendly efficient and helpful. The room was a good size, very clean. Bathroom was a good size with a walk in shower, and we always had hot water. Towels and linen changed regularly. Lighting was quite poor in the main room. There were plenty of choices for breakfast but many of them seemed odd or inappropriate and it was basically the same options every day. There was a good size pool with decking but the beds were very worn and tatty and would often collapse. The pool bar was was very good and there were plenty of staff on hand to assist. Good selection of drinks and cocktails. You can get red and white wine by the glass but not rose. The pool bar restaurant at night was very good with regards to quality and selections. There were three themed nights a week Close to the beach and two beds and an umbrella are €15 a day. Not too many local restaurants within walking distance. Overall a good holiday.

Family of 8 adults stayed 1 week in September. All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean as is the pool and bar area. Breakfast is great with plenty of choice. There are 3 supermarket/mini markets within a 5 minute walk. The beach is also 5 minutes walk. We walked into Ialysos which took about 35/40 minutes. Lots of bars and restaurants. We also walked into Kremasti in the opposite direction. Took about 20 minutes and Kremasti has a beautiful church, bars and restaurants. The shuttle bus from the hotel to Rhodes town is €8 and you must book in advance at reception. All in all a great stay at a gem of a hotel.

Just got back from a week at the Matoula Beach hotel and have to say its one of the best Hotels I have stayed at. The Hotel its self is lovely. The staff are absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble. We asked if we could change our room to a pool view and were offered one the day after which was a family room on floor 3. The Hotel is spotless and it smells amazing, id love to know what they use. We were B&B and the breakfast was really good, everything you wanted. Again the staff in the restaurant were all so nice and bar staff. the bar are is good with plenty of seating, the pool area is great. Its on the flightpath so perfect if you like to watch the airplane's land. The location is so god, the beach is a 5 minute walk and there are a few really good Tavernas spread about in walking distance. We got the coach into Rhodes town and a taxi to Faliraki, all booked by the reception staff. There really is nothing negative about this hotel, great place to go and have a chilled holiday. Would defiantly recommend and hopefully i will return.

Brilliant hotel with the most friendliest staff i have ever come across. The reception desk are so friendly, and always happy to help. The hotel is clean, but basic, although it has everything you need. The location could be too remote for some people, however with two fantastic local bars, mini markets, and local restaurants we found there was just enough. Ialysos is a 20min walk via the main road or straight down the beach front. Greek night every Friday is a must. Its an absolutely amazing night. We would definitely return and recommend this hotel.

Our last day here, found this hotel to be great. Very clean, modern, and very quite. Always plenty of clean towels, clean bedding, cleaners did a great job. Lovely walk-in shower and plenty of hot water. Ample choice for breakfast always replenished so never ran out. All the staff were brilliant, a credit to the hotel. Would certainly return. One star short due to sun beds, a bit of a let down.

We stayed here for 3 nights due to our flight being cancelled and we decided to extend our holiday for an extra 3 nights. The hotel was located 10 minutes from the airport, which is extremely convenient. The hotel receptionists were lovely and welcoming. The rooms were spacious and clean. Lovely pool bar and pool but the only thing that is missing is nicer sun beds. I feel sun beds really add to a hotel and these ones were old and kept collapsing on us. I feel if these were updated I would 100% come here again.
