Despina Studios in Agia Marina

Just returned from 14 nights in Despina Apartments, our third time, nothing is too much trouble for George, the apartments are spotless, attended to by Valentino, and the surrounding area, by George. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and shops all along the main road, and a short walk to the beach with sunbeds and shades. We are looking to go back again next year and highly recommend this complex.

Couldnt fault the studio . Spotless, everything you needed .. Lovely balcony with sun in the morning then tea time . Host George was very friendly and left juice and biscuits on our arrival and some basil which was lovely as we made pasta a few times instead of going out . Good location.. . The only thing I found disappointing was there was no pool ! It was advertised with pool but this was a shared pool with the hotel next door which wasnt hudge...and we were informed it would be 8 euros a day or 40 euros a week for us ...thought that wasnt right at all...so we just used pool bars on the beach if you had a drink it was fine .I recommend sohola...it was amazing ..it was a bit more expensive.but we went back twice totally chill out ....beanbags in pool.just fab....

Lovely hotel!
It’s such a nice hotel, George is really accomodating. The cleaning lady (i didn’t get her name sadly) is so sweet and good at her job. We stayed for free on the day we were leaving ‘till 6:30 in the evening. George arranged transfer to and from the airport so we didn’t have to worry. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a lovely week's stay and were looked after by our host George. The apartments are close to the beach and are various spacious inside and are spotlessly clean. George was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area and gave us some great tips in terms of places to go. If we come back to Crete, we would definitely come back and stay at Despina Studios again. Highly recommend.

We booked 2 apartments for our stay, one for my family and the other my sister and her teenage daughter. Unbelievable value for money, the photos don't do it justice. Great location as the beach is on your doorstep, loungers are available at 2.50 Euros each. There is a shared pool with the hotel next to the apartments that you can access as long as you order drinks (which is fair enough). Bus stop is directly opposite the apartments, and there are plenty of shops, supermarkets and restaurants along the road in both directions. It's also reasonably quiet on a nighttime if you are a light sleeper like me. George the manager of the apartments is friendly and helpful with everything from advice on where to eat, shop and excursions. The place is kept meticulously clean every day by George and the lovely Valentina. I cannot fault this place at all, the apartments themselves have large comfortable beds, great air conditioning, large balconies, great showers, all the extras from toiletries, to iron, microwave, kettle and kitchen needs. And upon arrival there was orange juice and water in the fridge, fruit and chocolate bread. Excellent hospitality.

My husband and I spent 5 days here and we really enjoyed it. The room was spacious, clean and cosy. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. If you hire a car, there’s a car park, so don’t worry about it. If you don’t drive, they can arrange a transfer from/to the airport for you. The beach is right outside the hotel: it’s not obviously the best of the island but it’s nice and clean if you just want to spend a few hours chilling. We spent our last morning there before flying back home. The manager was super kind when we arrived and gave us some tips about nice restaurants and places to see. As our flight home was late in the afternoon, he also gave us a spare room after we checked out, so so we could enjoy a few more hours at the beach and then have a shower before leaving. Agia Marina is a good area to stay, especially if you drive and plan to visit the best places in Crete. I would definitely book at Despina Studio again if I visit Crete again, thank you very much.

We have just returned from a 24 night stay.. This is the 4th time we have stayed at the Despina Studios,only COVID and the cancellation of flights prevented us returning sooner. George,the owner along with Valentina,who cleans the rooms to a very high standard to ensure the comfort of guests Nothing is too much trouble,ask..and it is done. The rooms are spacious and have a nice balcony, some with a sea view. There is a bus stop just outside with frequent service to Chania town and other resorts within Crete. You will arrive as a guest,and leave as a friend..

Relaxing, beautiful stay
Great location! Clean very accommodating, nice, friendly, beautiful rooms with kitchen, refrigerator and cook top. Utensils, pots, pans, glasses and cups available. Frequent cleaning!! Beach and pool wonderful. Multiple restaurants and shops within walking distance. Will stay again on next trip!!!

George, you have continued the excellent standards you set for these lovely apartments, Absolutely spotless, you could eat off the floor its kept that clean. I have left a previous review with all the details of what you can expect from the Despina, and I can guarantee one thing you wont be is disappointed. We book the rooms that look over the sea, a little smaller that the other rooms but nice to have the view when guzzling 1 euro wine from lidl in the evening as the sun sets before heading off to one the fantastic restaurants within 10 minutes walk. We really hope to be back and when we do George we will be in touch as always. Thank you again for a fantastic time.

Excellent hotel with seaview and balcony, very clean room, kitchenette and bathroom, friendly and helpful staff (director George and cleaning lady Valentina). Good location near beach, bus stop, shops, restaurants and cafes. Thank you for your hospitality!

One of the best apartments we ever visited, we stayed only one night, but it would be comfortable for a long time. Very hospitable hosts, ready to help on any issue, love and know their business.
