Katerini Hotel Apartments in Rethymno

That was my second visit of Katerini Apartments and, hopefully, not the last one. This time, I got a transport hiccup on the way to the hotel (side note: book your tickets from Heraklion to Rethymno in advance, shall you choose to travel by bus). So the hosts - these saint people - waited for me at the reception until 1 a.m.! I felt so greatful! The special advantage of these cosy apartments is that the bedroom is separate from the living room with the kitchen corner. Hence, your loved ones have a chance to sleep, while you vigorously chop a salad or beat an omlet. One little minus is that creating some kind of air circulation in the bedroom was difficult to impossible, even in the night with open windows. The rooms are kept clean, each has a balcony or a terrace, and most of them face a quiet side street. The building is surrounded with beautiful trees and plants (my personal highlight) and is a home for several well-behaving cats. Ah, and please try the bar downstairs. Even if you don't drink alkohol, there are plenty of lovely options for you.

A great place to stay with an awesome host!! The rooms were super clean, cosy and big enough. I recommend it 100% as a vfm choice

Great rooms well maintain and clean, our room had e view of the front Street, which was really pretty full of shops, restaurants and bars. I recommended for couples and friends.

This is a review for the cocktail bar overlooking the street.
If you're after great cocktails this is the place to be, you wouldn't believe how hard it was to find an Aperol spritzer with proper fizz going on!
The waitresses (who are twins) we're lovely and provided great service.

Well located, comfortable apartments. Nicely decorated although simple, they have everything you need. Kitchen could be a bit better stocked but you wouldn't care if you were not cooking.
Pleasant pool, not for lounging but great for a dip.
Hotel is on the main road in Platanes, bus to many places at doorstep. Supermarkets, restaurants, tourist services, everything is near.
I personally do not like the beach here, half rough sand half pebbles, lots of waves and nothing much to look at. But it's a few mins walk from the hotel for those who do like it.
I would recommend this hotel.

Didn't stay at the hotel, only visited the bar. Great free wifi! Really fast (like 2mb/s download speeds). Ate an ice-cream, was super good! Also good coffee according to my wife.

Third time here now and they improve it all the time. Re done all the outside and bar area moved now and it looks really nice. Still as friendly as ever and always ready if you need something.
