Ostria Apartments in Agios Nikolaos

We've stayed one week in October in the 2-bedrooms apartment and it was a very pleasant experience, with two main highlights: the view from the room and the kindness of the host Dimitris.
The apartment is spacious, very clean (it gets cleaned every day) and the view is simply amazing.
We felt very safe with a 1 year old kid crawling around and on the balcony, and he definitely enjoyed.
The swimming pool looks great but we didn't use it as the temperature was already a bit chilly, and it's on the contrary not safe for a toddler.
Dimitris is the greatest host: very friendly, available and he knows the best areas/activities on the island.
Keep in mind that the apartments are quite isolated and there are not many places you can reach without a car. The bus stop is quite close though, but I would still recommend a car.

Little suggestions to improve a very pleasant stay: provide some little essentials in the house (salt, oil, a couple of better knives, a broom and a couple of cleaning clothes..) especially for the first day of arrival. It feels silly to buy 1kg of salt and 1lt of oil knowing that we will use a fraction of it and the next guest will do the same. It can be a "paid essentials" kit but I would have been happy to buy it instead of going to the supermarket for each individual product.
Also, we mostly slept with closed windows but the nearby hotel can be a bit loud at times. But on the other hand it has a restaurant which can come handy.

But as we said, great stay and great host!

Very nice accomodation, the view is amazing and the owner is very friendly and welcoming. He shared wonderful tips to spend our holiday in Crete in local restaurants.

Fabulous apartment with stunning views.
Fabulous stay at the Ostria Apartments. We stayed for three nights in the Executive Room which had a large terrace with sun beds, sofa, table and umbrella. All the exceptionally clean rooms have recently been refurbished to a very high standard and they all have fabulous views of the bay. Dimitris, the owner was a brilliant and generous host throughout, arranging taxis etc. He also runs an excellent drinks and snack bar next to the pool. These apartments are only a short drive away from the town of Agios Nikolaos and we would recommend staying here rather than the town. The hotel next door is just 2 mins walk away and also has a good restaurant.
We will definitely recommend these apartments to family and friends.

incredible place with lots of hospitality from the host Dimitris. The place was really perfect for our needs with kitchen, great pool and all we need for our stay. Everything was perfect and the view was amazing. The cleaning lady was also so friendly always with a smile! perfect place!

Unique location, with majestic view of sea and mountains. Offers very easy access to the South seas, as well as to the mountains, the wild west and the big cities. A very kind helpful and attending owner and housekeeper. The rooms provide almost everything you would expect at the very rational, for this year, prices.

Totally reccomend it for families! The owner, Dimitris elevates your stay to another level! He treats guests like family.
He is always available to share insights and informations how to enjoy your stay like locals do!

Definitely not a 2 star hotel. Very good facilities, rooms and view for the hotel’s price, as well as the very friendly staff (Dimitris), who often would give as raki and cake while we were sitting with him in the evenings and is very helpful if you have any queries or problems. Also perfectly located to explore both the towns in the north (elounda, plaka and agios nikolaos) as well as exploring the rest of lasithi to the east. Would definitely recommend.
