Elounda Breeze Resort is a five-star property built in 1999 and renovated in 2012, located on a 40,000 m² green territory near Elounda, Crete. It features 182 rooms including Standard, Superior, and Deluxe family and double options, with some offering sea views or private pools. The resort offers two outdoor freshwater pools, one heated seasonally, plus water slides, a tennis court, and a fitness center. Evening entertainment is lively for children but quieter for adults, and the stone amphitheater seating can be uncomfortable. The resort provides free sunbeds, towels, and parking, with paid Wi-Fi at the lobby and optional sauna use.

Location

Elounda Breeze Resort is situated about 2 km from the town of Elounda and 8 km from Agios Nikolaos, on the regional road linking the two. The hotel lies approximately 200 meters from its own pebble beach, which is accessible via a road and promenade. The international airport in Heraklion (HER) is around 50 km away, requiring roughly an hour’s transfer. A bus stop is located 400 meters from the hotel, and the nearest ATM is in Elounda, 2 km away. Local attractions include a free tennis court and sports facilities on site. For evening entertainment outside the resort, Agios Nikolaos is 10 km distant.

Tips

  • Book the newer or renovated rooms when possible to avoid limited storage and outdated furnishings.
  • Rent a car or prepare for some walking due to the hilly terrain and limited pram access.

My review is based on what we paid for a family of 4, all inclusive, it was definitely worth the special offer price, however it is not a 4* hotel (though we didn’t pay 4* prices). Accommodation: The views in the hotel are breathtaking, it’s truly beautiful. We opted for a one bed family room which was massive, beds are comfortable and bathroom is adequate. One issue was a lack of storage; as a family 4 on a 2 week holiday the single wardrobe & two tiny bedside table drawers just weren’t enough. I wasted a lot of time on our first day trying to get additional storage; eventually they caved & sent us an industrial clothes rail (definitely not 4* ascetics). We had two balconies but only set of furniture 🤷🏻‍♀️ Food: This was very mixed; breakfast was great, lunch in the snack bar was great but the restaurant wasn’t, the evening meals in the restaurant were generally ok and the two al la carte were really good. The main restaurant has canteen feel, nothing special at all. Though the staff work tirelessly to keep it well stock and clean. Entertainment: Evenings were very lacking for older kids/adults. The stone amphitheatre was uncomfortable and the bar service was minimal at best. The main bar has zero atmosphere but the bar service is good (shout out to Irish girl who was brilliant). The outdoor seating is good if you can get a seat but again lacks atmosphere. I’m not a fan of loud music but it would really benefit from some kind of holiday music, a live band and some lighting. Everything shuts down early so a peaceful night was guaranteed though the option of something lively a couple of nights a week would have been nice. Pools/Beach Pools are fab, lots of choice, activities in the top pool are fun, as are the slides. We walked down to the ‘beach’ a couple of times for a change of scenery but it isn’t really a beach so never stayed long. All in all for what we paid for it it was good value. The staff on the whole are very good and the views are stunning.

This is a lovely hotel in a peaceful location, our room was perfect, overlooking pool and sea view. Spacious room with comfortable beds. We went at the start of the season and it was peaceful, the entertainment was outstanding for the kids and our little one loved it. The food was great, the drinks and staff were wonderful. A couple of k’s walk down to the village but you could always grab a taxi. We rented a car which we parked at the hotel with no extra cost. Would definitely return to this hotel. The only downfall fall is that the commute from the airport with a young child is fairly long. Just be aware if you are travelling with small children.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Walking distance to Elounda, plenty of entertainment from reps that clearly love their jobs, and beautiful views. We had a shared private pool which was lovely. I have allergies and am always nervous trusting others to cater for me particularly with cross contamination. I was very worried about having a buffet style restaurant. When I arrived I was told to introduce myself to Georgia (sorry if the spelling is wrong) and she was amazing. Understood my concerns completely. She would meet me every meal and take my personal order to be made fresh for me in the kitchen. Nothing was too much trouble and she even made sure there were some lovely puddings I could have. She really put me at ease. Plus the food was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. We shall be back.

TUI Blue Elounda Breeze in Crete. This trip was marketed as a “family-friendly” all-inclusive holiday, but the reality was stressful, unsafe, and I would not recommend to anyone. traveling as three mothers with young children — one of whom is autistic — and expected a safe, accessible resort, as advertised. 1. Room Issues on Arrival We arrived at midnight after a 12-hour travel day with a 1-year-old child, only to be told there was a “technical issue” with our reserved room. We were temporarily placed in a different room, described as an “upgrade,” which was just adequate for our needs. I was told I would need to change rooms the next day, but no time was given. After finally settling in and unpacking for my child, we discovered in the morning that the door to our room was broken and had been wide open overnight — a serious safety concern. I was then told our room would not be available until 3:30pm, requiring me to pack and unpack repeatedly. No milk was available for the baby on arrival, and no shops were open. 2. Resort Accessibility & Misinformation The resort was not family-friendly as claimed. There was no pram access to most areas — including the pool bar, which had only steep steps. As I could not leave a 1-year-old unattended, I was unable to get food or drinks for myself during the day. The bar served only wine and beer — which I do not drink — and there was no mention of these limitations on your website. There was no music, atmosphere, or accessible facilities. I asked a staff member to help carry drinks; he reluctantly accepted, saying he didn’t want to be “caught” helping me by the manager — a disturbing comment. 3. Eviction from the Hotel The most distressing part of the holiday was being effectively evicted from the hotel, through no fault of our own. After being forced into a temporary room due to the hotel’s internal issue, I was told — abruptly — that I had to vacate or be charged. This was despite having a young child, and being told I could move at 3:30pm. I explained the difficulty, especially as one child is autistic and these disruptions were traumatic. The hotel manager ignored my concerns, told me to “leave his hotel,” and instructed the TUI rep to “get them out of my hotel.” We were left completely stranded, with no support, no accommodation, and no transport — in a remote location, as three single mothers with young children. I immediately contacted TUI. It took 48 hours for a response, only to be told no other hotel was available in Crete. I felt so unsafe I had to pay £1,000 for a private villa to ensure our safety. That level of helplessness, abandonment, and emotional distress is beyond unacceptable. 4. Ongoing Safety & Hygiene Issues During the time we remained on site awaiting a response from Tui, we encountered numerous health and safety hazards: • Loose tiles at the restaurant caused a fall and injury to one member of our party. • Broken glass was found near the children's play area and entert

eview of TUI Blue Elounda Breeze, Crete I am writing this review so that other families, especially those with young children, do not experience what we went through. Our holiday, booked through TUI at the TUI Blue Elounda Breeze in Crete, was marketed as a “family-friendly” all-inclusive. In reality, it was stressful, unsafe, and deeply disappointing. The experience has left me with no trust in TUI, and I cannot recommend them. 1. Room Issues on Arrival After a 12-hour journey with a 1-year-old, we arrived at midnight only to be told our reserved room was unavailable due to a “technical issue.” We were given a temporary room, described as an upgrade, but were told we would have to move the next day with no clear time given. The following morning, we discovered the door to our room had been broken and left wide open overnight — a major safety risk with a child inside. We were then informed our actual room would not be ready until 3:30pm, forcing us to repeatedly pack and unpack. On top of this, no milk was available for the baby on arrival, and no shops were open at that hour. 2. Resort Accessibility & Misinformation The resort was not remotely family-friendly. There was almost no pram access, including to the pool bar, which was only accessible by steep steps. As a result, I couldn’t get food or drinks during the day without leaving my 1-year-old unattended. The bar offered only wine and beer, which was not advertised on the website. There was no atmosphere, music, or accessible facilities. When I asked staff for help carrying drinks, one admitted he could get into trouble with management for assisting me — a worrying attitude. 3. Being Evicted from the Hotel The worst part of the holiday came when we were effectively evicted. After being placed in a temporary room because of the hotel’s error, we were suddenly told to vacate or pay extra. The manager showed no compassion when I explained we had young children, including one with autism, and instead instructed the TUI rep to “get them out of my hotel.” We were left stranded in a remote location — three single mothers with young children, with no accommodation or transport. TUI took 48 hours to respond, and eventually said no alternative hotels were available in Crete. For safety, I had to fly my partner out urgently and pay £1,000 for a private villa. The abandonment and distress caused were inexcusable. 4. Safety & Hygiene Concerns While waiting on site for TUI’s response, we encountered numerous hazards: Loose tiles in the restaurant that caused a fall and injury. Broken glass near the children’s play area and entertainment stage. Evening entertainment held on rocky, stepped ground with no pram access. Broken sunbeds, one of which collapsed and caused another injury. Allocated upstairs rooms (2027 and 3023), despite us requesting ground-floor for pram access. In one, the pram couldn’t even fit through the door. We were told no upgrades were available, yet later threatened wit

If you’re looking to experience the profound shame of being a British holidaymaker, but fancy travelling three times the distance of Benidorm to the otherwise picturesque town of Elounda to do so, the TUI Blue Elounda Breeze might just be the place for you. Upon arrival, you will promptly be branded with your TUI cattle stamp and shown to your room. Following which, you’ll be treated to a parade of cultural delights such as: Football Shirt Bingo Can you spot the home and away shirt of every Premier League and Championship club? The restaurants at breakfast and dinner are an ideal place for this. Extra points are awarded for a “full house” (father, mother, and all offspring clad head-to-toe in matching polyester). Sunbed Wars. Marvel at the dawn migration: hundreds of Brits in obligatory socks and sliders, marching to the pool at 7am to reserve their sacred sun beds, before slouching back to bed again. A National Geographic documentary waiting to happen. An intriguing drinks menu. An enticing selection of “red”, “white”, or “rosé” wine - all served on draught. For the gentleman - cheap, just-below-room-temperature lager is available on tap. The rustic beachfront. Enjoy the unique post-apocalyptic ambience of the “beach” area. Featuring rusty, collapsed metal rails and derelict concrete, you’re guaranteed a quiet afternoon away from the masses—helped by the fact that the adjoining bar does not carry the umbilical cord of free booze on tap. A moonlit dinner at the ‘He Restaurant’. Once dressed for the evening, make your way to the “He Restaurant”, past the amphitheatre (booming out that authentic Greek cultural staple Freed from Desire by Gala), for a romantic moonlit buffet. Less charming when the moon isn’t out, as you’ll instead be dining in pitch black. To their credit, the staff are welcoming, hardworking, and professional. This review is in no way a criticism of them, as they stoically tolerate the loutish behaviour of many of the residents. Our holiday was salvaged by taking good humour in the situation, hiring a car the morning after arrival, and using the hotel as a bed & breakfast. Elounda itself is a wonderful place, full of exceptional restaurants, bars, and welcoming locals. TUI Blue residents aside, it attracts a lovely mix of visitors from around the world, and we would highly recommend it as a destination. The issue lies with the management of the hotel and TUI themselves: firstly, for building a hotel that so blatantly caters to Benidorm holidaymakers in an idyllic and stunning location like Elounda, and secondly, for marketing it as a five-star resort to unsuspecting travellers simply looking to escape the masses for a couple of weeks a year.

We were a group of 8 and we were all very impressed with this hotel. Absolutely stunning views from our room and the main pool area and restaurant. The best views we have had from a hotel by far. The food was really good. Good choice everyday. Asian night was a highlight. The 2 a la carte restaurants for us were very impressive. Kids club was a big hit with our 5 and 8 year old. They always came out happy with something they had made in the session. All the staff were friendly and the tui reps always made sure to say hello and engage with everyone. The evening entertainment was good quality. The tui staff who put on the shows were fantastic and very good singers. The beach was peaceful and good for snorkeling. The bar was open and although not in the all inclusive it was not extortionate. All inclusive cocktails were of a good standard and the fact you had prosecco as a choice was a winner for me! Reception staff were friendly and helpful. They booked several taxis to Elounda for us during our stay. 9 euros each way and worth the visit. A little too far to walk with little ones. Yes there are hills to walk up but we did it daily and got used to it. The exercise didn't hurt and allowed for an extra bit of cake! We had no issues at all with the cleaning. Beds turned over daily, fresh towels provided. If I was to say anything to improve it would be some entertainment or somewhere for after 10:30 other than the old lobby area. Sunbeds on the terrace area near the main pool would also improve on the morning sunbed reserving. We had one day where we had to use another pool which was not an issue we just preferred the main pool for the activities and the views.

Nice hotel , situated around 1 hours drive from the airport by private transfer , The room was clean and big enough for a family of 4, we had a issue with ants which was resolved when we reported it a second time , the food was ok typical European-all inclusive ,the drinks were poor but that didn’t matter to us , the pools were good and we spent most days at the activity one as it was better suited for the children , Evening entertainment was good for the children and the ents team were engaging, The only issue we had was with the rude tui rep ( apparently the tui manager at the hotel ) Roger is not a credit to Tui or the hotel , all the other team are engaging and helpful , maybe Roger can learn from them ,

We have not long returned home from our 2 week stay at Elounda Breeze which was also our honey moon. I must say we do miss it so much already. We came last year a bit earlier on in may and it definitely was cooler, this time around was just perfect in June and I cannot express how much of an excellent time we had as a family. Where do I start? I need to mention the hotel itself, it’s beautiful and definitely lives up to its name ‘Elounda Breeze’ that breeze is very welcomed on the hot days that we had! It is very hilly so be prepared to walk but there are the gentlemen staff that can give you a lift in one of the carts (which my little girl enjoyed very much- especially sitting backwards)! The staff are just absolutely fantastic, as soon as we walked in the restaurant staff recognised us as a family and even remembered my daughter’s name. The 2 Georgia’s, Linda, all the waiting staff they all work exceptionally hard and are so so friendly they really are a credit to the hotel, never without a smile on their faces especially in the heat and all the noise of the restaurant it must be so difficult. The TUI blue team are just fantastic all round, the entertainment that they work so so hard to put on for everybody - especially the children, all the energy and passion it never goes un noticed. I want to especially mention Guilia, she is just the kindest soul and really made our experience wonderful we really enjoyed playing skittles and other activities with her in the day just a breath of fresh air. Your child will never be bored here morning, day & night there is always something and you just need to check the app. They also have fire shows, acrobatic comedy show, Havana dance night, it’s all fsntastic. There is 2 mascots Captain T & Tui the robot who again my little girl just adored and they also do a healthy eating scheme which encouraged my daughter to eat super well this holiday in order for her to collect stickers and get a certificate! Also another special mention for Freyja who was on the desk in the lobby ready to greet us every morning, she paid extra attention to us and our little girl which made it feel so special for us and nothing was a problem, I felt I could approach her with anything, even when my little girl fell poorly the last couple days of our holiday Freyja organised for us to have late check out which really helped us out with our situation and I cannot thank her enough, a real credit to TUI. The cleaners came every morning and were so polite and friendly, we was never out of anything thanks to them. We really enjoyed the food, there is a selection for everyone in the restaurant and I especially loved the themed nights, my favourite was Asian with lots of offers of sushi and noodles. My little girl was also obsessed with the chocolate fountain which was a nice touch. The pool bar is great which is where we ate most lunchtimes, again the chef there works so so hard and he is so attentive making sure to talk you through every di

We visited Elounda Breeze with a 2 year old at the beginning of June and all in all we had a good stay. I'll try and sum it up Good bits. As it was out honeymoon, the hotel left a bottle of fizz and a bottle of red in our room along with a welcome message. It was very late when we arrived and we were greeted with a baguette of our choosing and a cold bottle of water in the fridge in the room. The room (2011) was really nice and quiet with a beautiful view across the bay, the bed was really comfortable and the balcony was very sunny during the early afternoon when our little boy was inside having his nap. The food was probably some of the best all inclusive food I've had with plenty of differing choices for lunch and dinner although the breakfast was a standard selection each day, it was all very nice so we had no complaints. The hotel itself is set in a very hilly part of elounda but this makes for some breathtaking views in multiple places especially the restaurant and main pool areas. There are a couple of golf buggies that drive around that will take you wherever you want to go in the hotel, they have enough room for a buggy or bags if you're heading to the pool, these buggies were the highlight of our 2 year olds holiday. All the staff were really courteous and friendly especially the entertainment staff and waiters/bar staff. The entertainment staff were great with the kids and really looked like they were enjoying their jobs. There are 3 different pools and a splash pool with slides, we spent most of our time at the main pool but we also went to the activity pool where the snack bar is located where you can get the best gyros you've ever tasted. We went to the hotel beach one morning which was really nice albeit a bit of a trek. Bad bits. The cleaning of the rooms was abit hit and miss, there were a couple of days when it didn't get done at all, there was another day when they came just as we were getting ready to go out so I asked that they come back in 5 minutes but when we returned, they hadn't been back at all, there were times when they just came in and made the bed but the tea/coffee materials wasn't replenished until I asked at reception. There were a few days when we came back from the pool at around 4-5pm and they were in our room when all we wanted to do is just enjoy the air conditioning. Being from the UK, it seems that most of the flights are quite late but the checkout time is 11am, you can get a late checkout but it costs 60 euros which I think is a bit excessive. That being said, you can book a courtesy room for half an hour so you can shower if you want to use the pools after you've checked out which we did. The only problem for us was that our boy needed an afternoon nap which he had to have in his pushchair in the lobby bar. Things to consider. If you have mobility issues or struggle with steps, this is not the hotel for you. Even with the golf buggies you end up walking quite a lot as the amenities in the hotel are q
