Thalia deco City & Beach Hotel in Hersonissos

It pains me to write this review because We know it will become very difficult to get availability to return. Myself and my husband stayed at the Thalia Deco hotel at the end of September 25, it was a late booking after spending a fortune on a previous holiday in a 5 star all inclusive in Kos in June of that year. Initially I was dubious as this was only a 3 star hotel and I usually stayed in 4/5 star hotels but the reviews drew me. First impressions were that this is not the prettiest location it was extremely central you had so many shops restaurants, pharmacy banks everything you could need, we could see the sea and the hills which had their own charm. The atmosphere in the hotel was very relaxed and after staying there a few days became warm and almost home like. First impressions of the room were that it could do with updating and I almost felt like I had made a mistake booking this, they had given us a upgrade which meant we had 2 bedrooms with lots of storage for all our clothes etc. We had four beds two pushed together in the larger bedroom, two hairdryers, a full fridge including ice box, a good sized bathroom with small sized cubicle shower and always plenty of hot water whenever we needed, we had two televisions and always found something to watch for the amount off time we where in the room but I would probably recommend a firestick or similar if you are people who like to watch certain television. The room was clean, very quiet at all times and so comfortable the beds were amazing and we both slept really well for the whole of our stay. It had a small pool area which was clean but we never used it because everyday we were out at either the beach or to the small villages with their amazing charms. Breakfast was great as a Brit it’s not bacon everyday but we could always find something, all very fresh locally sourced good quality and lots of homemade food we would recommend there version of baked beans, homemade breads, carrot cake and much more as a teaholic I always take my own tea but found myself drinking their coffee every morning from the machine you won’t be disappointed absolutely great breakfast. What makes this hotel special is the costumer service this is family run and they’re all so warm and helpful, like minded very hard working people who obviously love what they and it shows Owners Themis his wife Gordana and son Alexandra couldn't be any more welcoming and helpful. Gordana also runs the shop at the front of the hotel which has fabulous affordable skin care and souvenirs we can highly recommend. Overall this holiday was brilliant fantastic value extremely comfortable and one we will return to later this year for Two weeks incidentally the longest holiday stay we have ever had that surely says it all. Stayed here in early October and what a beautiful place it is. Little mix up with my room, but I was very much compensated, with an upgrade, flowers, wine and fruit in my fridge. Everything about this hotel is top notch, the reception area is stunning, the dining room is lovely, and also has an outdoor eating area. Vast array of home made delicious food, with friendly helpful staff on hand. Situated on the Main Street of Hersonnisos so everything close to hand, only a few mins walk across to sea, shops, bars, The star in its crown has to be the family who run it. Such kind friendly people, very knowledgable and helpful and make you feel like a friend not a guest. I will certainly be returning to this place, it’s perfect!

I stayed here for a week in early October and was very impressed. The hotel is in a superb location, close to shops, bars, restaurants and the beach. Rooms are spacious and stylish with lovely bathrooms. The most enjoyable part of staying here was undoubtedly the fantastic breakfast. I have never seen so many different dishes on offer, all lovingly prepared using fresh, local produce, a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Plenty of vegetarian options as well as the most delicious homemade bread, sweet treats and cakes. It was the highlight of each and every day! The hotel is family owned and run and they go out of their way to make every guest feel welcome and valued. I will definitely be returning next year.

Just returned from a weeks bed and breakfast at the Thalia deco and I must say it is the friendliest hotel I’ve ever stopped in.its family run and all home cooked food which is amazing. Would highly recommend a visit, the beds in the rooms are huge and realy comfy. The owners are realy knowledgeable about the area and offer great advise about areas to visit

We stayed at the Thalia Deco Beach and City Hotel for two weeks commencing 28th September 2025. This was undoubtedly the best hotel that we have ever stayed in, including 5 star hotels around the world. The owners, Themis and Gordano along with other members of their family and the staff are all wonderfully focussed on making guests feel part of the family environment. Whilst we were there it was our 44th wedding anniversary and our room and breakfast table were decorated with flowers and candles. The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage space. There is a well appointed shower and toilet room with a very efficient shower. Our room also had a balcony overlooking the mountains and villages at the rear of the hotel. Cleaning was done regularly to a high standard with towels and bedding spotless. The breakfast was amazing with a selection to suit everyone and as much as you could eat. Also the restaurant area was very clean and all tables were cleaned immediately after use. The pool area was quiet with plenty of sunbeds and tables. The pool was also clean and inviting. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, and they helped us arrange trips and taxis with good local agencies. All in all a wonderful holiday that was enhanced by the amazing hotel and staff. Thank you very much from Jan and Derrick.

Just back from nice 4 night stay at Thalia Deco. This was my 4th stay at this hotel - like many of the guests at this Hotel I just keep coming back again and again. The hotel is positioned on the main road of Hersonissos heading towards Stalis - it is close to everything but is far enough away from the noisy nightlife for a good nights sleep. There are many restaurants and shops just metres away. The hotel itself has very nice rooms, immaculately clean, nice, beds and shower. The breakfasts are very nice, mainly continental with plenty of choice and fresh produce and breads. Gordana and her team are so friendly and really make you feel at home. All staff at the hotel really take pride in their work and nothing seems too much trouble. The amount of returning guests (including myself) is proof of how well they look after us. I am planning to return next June.

The location for this hotel is incredible, not even a ten minute walk from the beach! We had a lovely clean room with a balcony. The family atmosphere was very inviting and me and my partner enjoyed ending our trip with some signature cocktails in the bar. If you come here I definitely recommend the Adam and eve cocktail, it was delicious!

This hotel is right in the centre of the busy resort but our room on the side was still quiet. The beds are comfortable and the air con is excellent. The pool area was never crowded and plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. The management are fantastic, they are so friendly, helpful and chatty. Always a smile on their faces! 2 very minor things that we mentioned to reception were fixed within an hour! ( Balcony light and shower riser). The breakfast choice is extensive. The bar serves good cocktails too. There is a small beach less than 5 minutes walk and lots of shops, bars and restaurants with great food on the doorstep. If you are thinking of going to Hersonissos you should definitely stay here!! Thanks again to all the wonderful staff
