Thalassi Hotel in Sfakaki

On the whole the hotel is modern, clean and the pool is well maintained although it’s very cold. Breakfast is good! Selection of hot items and continental options too. Dinner was ok. Probably the smallest buffet I’ve ever seen, however they will make something else for the kids if there’s nothing for them at the buffet and they will do this willingly, no problem at all. The restaurant is about a 5 mins walk away from the hotel or they do offer a shuttle service back and forward also. Unfortunately I do have some negatives I feel I need to share as they did impact negatively on our stay and these all come down to customer service… My oldest daughter and my mother shared an apartment and the shower flooded on the first night they did what they could do stop the water travelling any further as it was litrally running under the fridges into the electrics etc. they asked for help and the gentleman arrived and was very irritated and raising his voice! Hugely intimidating so much so they both choose to shower in our room for the rest of the holiday, too scared to use the shower. Secondly the lady who works at the bar wasn’t the most welcoming. For example my little daughter used some of the pool floats etc they have for guests to use freely and the lady came over to my husband whilst in the pool and said in front of other guests “you will be helping me clean all this away” very embarrassing. We are in the process of booking Crete for next year and it’s solely down to the customer service that we won’t be booking the Thalassi hotel again. This has absolutely no reflection on the cleaning staff or the staff at the restaurant who are all very polite and very helpful and made us very welcome.
