A large hotel with usual facilities. Room was fine, though shower needs improvement as it wets the bathroom floor. Good choice of breakfast items. Location on main road not seafront so some road noise. No parking. (Though we went to the wrong hotel on arrival and they said we could use their underground car park for €7 a day).

We had a wonderful stay at Minos Hotel in Crete! From the moment we arrived, we was warmly welcomed by the friendly and professional staff. The hospitality throughout my stay was exceptional – everyone went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and at home.
The service was truly outstanding, with attention to every detail. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant. I especially appreciated the helpfulness of the reception team, who were always ready to assist with a smile.

Charged an extra 30 Euro above stated 70 Euros because of the type of room we had booked. The room was not that brilliant. A large bed but very little space to put your clothing for a 10 day stay. We mostly lived out of a suitcase. The view was OK but not exciting. Very very noisy from the main road. The food was hit and miss, and not that good. As for the entertainment in the evening I would give it a miss. A hour of a so called belly dancer was limited to a woman dancing around looking bored. Seen more action at a Disco. Another night a so called singer just talking into his mike, after 20 minutes three quarters of the audience were up and gone. Another night a so called magician entertained, again after 15 minutes or so half the audience had left. The local Greek dancers were great though. Ten PM seemed to be a curfew time as all went dead. The pool was OK but cold. The men's pool toilets should be closed off. Tiles broken and falling off the wall. No toilet paper. As for the pool shower all I can say is Disgusting. The pool bar seemed to charge different prices when they changed staff for the evening shift. Mostly the staff were OK but one individual was quite rude to many of the guests in the dining room. This is not just my observations but many of the tourists made the same complaints. Not just the British. For a four star hotel I found it to be VERY EXPENSIVE AND OVER HYPED. A shame but you live and learn. I will stick to three star hotels in future as they strive to please their customers and not rest on their laurels. Would I recommend this hotel the answer is simply NO NO NO

Spent 10days here as a return visit. Is a lovely hotel with everything you need and in a perfect position just a few minuted from the beach. We will almost certainly return. Staff are helpfull and friendly. Pool area and bars is as you would like it. Sorry to be leaving. Thank you.

We stayed for a week here recently and had a great time, great location with just short walk into town. Staff are friendly and happy to answer any questions. We had bed and breakfast only but this was more than enough. Plenty to choose from. Would stay here again

Overall, we had a lovely week at this hotel. The rooms were nicely decorated, reasonably modern, and kept clean and tidy. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice, drinks were reasonably priced, and both pools were enjoyable.

The main negative was the broken door to our hotel room which took 5 days to be fixed properly despite repeated complaints. It left our room insecure - and while there was a safe for valuables - it was still far from ideal. Cleaning staff also made quite a lot of noise talking early in the mornings which woke us up a few times.

We were totally amazed by this hotel! Irini, Judy, Vicky and the rest are just so helpful and answered all of our questions. We have visited this hotel seven times and it bacame even more better regarding the facilities. The location is very convenient! We recommend!!!! We are coming back soon! Lovely hotel, let down by 2 silly things. Firstly, nobody was allowed to use the pool until 10.30am. Unclear why as breakfast was at 7.30 so most people were out by 9.30am. The over zealous entertainment lady made a small child cry for using the pool at 10.15. All seemed a bit dramatic, not bothering anyone and cleaning was done early morning and then water tested throughout the day when people were swimming. Nobody was near the breakfast area either. The other issue, room was lovely and new and staff were great. However, the lorry delivering linen pulled up directly outside our window each morning at 6.30am. Sat for 10 mins before driving away. Hard to sleep through even with ear plugs. Surely this could have been down at 7.30 onwards?! Breakfast was lovely. Hopefully these issues can easily be rectified by the hotel Manager to make it more enjoyable for future guests.

Our stay at Minos Hotel was not a pleasant experience, and I will briefly explain why. The hotel is actually a complex of buildings, so depending on where your room is located, the reception can be either close or quite far. In our opinion, this is not a 4-star hotel, but rather a 3-star one, as none of the buildings reflect a true 4-star standard. The carpets in the hallways are heavily stained, the rooms had ants (we even changed rooms due to a hot water issue, but both had ants), the pillows were so hard they were impossible to sleep on, and the elevators were old and very cramped. On top of that, we were also disappointed with the way service was handled at the restaurant. There was always someone at the entrance directing guests to a table, which made us feel like we couldn’t choose where to sit ourselves—something we found quite annoying. We had both breakfast and dinner included: while breakfast came with basic drinks such as water, juice, tea, and coffee, dinner only included food, with drinks charged separately. What was particularly frustrating was that the waiters would immediately clear away glasses if you chose not to order a drink, and they were constantly rushing around the tables, asking if you were “finished” and making a lot of noise with the dishes—especially the older staff members. Overall, we wouldn’t repeat our experience at Minos Hotel and I would not recommend it for a 4 star vacation. Regarding accessibility, keep in mind that from Heraklion Airport, you would need 2 more hours with the bus to get there (it’s not a long distance apparently, but consider all the stops included on the way to Minos).
