Mitsis Summer Palace in Kardamaina

So I’ll start with what was great… the pools are beautiful, we pretty much went to the two main infinity pools everyday, we got there at 8 every day to get sun beds and they go FAST. I also love how they remove towels when people leave their sun beds for over 40 minutes. The pizza and drinks at the bar here also great. Staff over all were amazing super friendly and helpful. The man who took pool drink orders was absolutely amazing and made our trip! He made sure everyone always had a drink and was so kind and friendly. Our room was lovely. We had a bit of trouble to begin with we were “upgraded” but to begin with put in a twin room, so we asked to be moved to our original, superior room which wasn’t a problem. The sea front rooms have the most beautiful views. The weather in October was perfect and not too cold, all the restaurants have blankets for the evenings when it gets windy. Bars are great and all the cocktails taste amazing and not watered down. The hotel in general is absolutely stunning and immaculately clean. Okay so for the not so great things… the food. The food was just on the whole bad. We HATED the dinner and lunch buffet and only went twice. The selection is really small and the food is just semi warm and generally bad. The restaurants were okay but were often out of menu items and frequently got our orders completely wrong. Stick to the snack options for lunch, breakfast is great, and the Mediterranean restaurant for dinner is good. We also weren’t impressed with the turn down service, there was nothing overly wrong with it, but the only thing that really got done were the beds. Our towels weren’t always changed, our robes would be taken and not replaced, and our mini bar was fully replenished maybe twice- not the end of the world but not what you expect in a 5 star hotel. In general we really did have an amazing week and will definitely be coming back soon!

Myself and my now Fiancè had the best time at Mitsis Summer Palace. From the moment we walking into the reception and saw the view on the other side, we were blown away. The check in was seamless, we arrived slightly early before our room was ready, so we went straight to the buffet lunch. The food and salad options were great and we were offered a drink straight away. We checked into our room and we were over the moon, the rooms are so modern and beautifully styled, comfy beds and the balcony view was amazing. The refreshments in the fridge were restocked every day which was perfect. If you aren’t keen on a buffet, the options of restaurants are great. You just need to make sure you book in advance, but they do sometimes have last min availability. The unlimited pizza was one of the best parts!!! The pizza is made infront of you and it is so fresh and delicious, we often had it by the pool instead of going to lunch. It’s difficult to get a spot by the infinity pools but you either need to get there early, or around lunch time when people have gone to get food. Mitsis Shmmer Palace will always have a special place in our hearts as it’s where we got engaged. We can’t wait to go back and to also visit other Mitsis hotels.

Great hotel for family’s vacation also for couples, too many pools, food so delicious and they are so benevolent. The restaurants are amazing, highly quality food served well and delicious, the waitress’ are so kind and servicing with love . The whole vibe is so high quality. The restaurants you can visit are definitely worth booking, the only one we didn’t try was the dusk restaurant as we didn’t like anything on the menu. The reviews all say the buffet food is terrible but we didn’t have an issue finding something we enjoyed however not much choice, the buffet is rather small but still the food was good. We did have to set an alarm everyday to ensure we got a bed around the infinity pools, if you leave the beds for 40 minutes your things get removed which we thought was great (doesn’t happen at other hotels). The gentleman taking drinks orders around the pool everyday was extremely attentive and we enjoyed this a lot! Entertainment at the Den restaurant was enjoyable however queue for the bar was always long. The night we chose to eat at this restaurant we got our food before our drinks arrived and struggled to order more as it was extremely busy with drink only guests. The website states no shorts allowed in restaurants, I emailed prior to arriving and received an arsey response ‘other guests may not adhere to the rules but there are dress codes’ however we had no issues with any dress codes. The mini bar in the room is filled everyday, complimentary beer wine pop and water! The only issue with our room was the toilet roll holder was falling off the wall and toilet door wouldn’t actually close. Apart from that.. overall it was a lovely relaxing weeks holiday!

The hotel rooms are stunning and cleaned daily to a very high standard. All the pools are lovely. The buffet offers a wide selection, the a la cart restaurant serves brunch which is lovely. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist. Overall, the hotel provides a very relaxing atmosphere, making it a pleasant place to stay. The Fresco Bar is a highlight, serving delicious vegan food with fast and efficient service.

I’m not one to write a review but on this occasion I felt I must! This holiday was an early celebration for my partners 30th birthday when we arrived the guy on reception was so friendly and explained we had been upgraded from a superior sea view to a plunge pool room and wow oh wow the room was incredible! It was huge and it was amazing to have our own pool which we lay by in the mornings. We arrived late and took advantage of the 24hr room service the food was all really tasty and loved this touch! We were so impressed with the hotel all the bookable restaurants were incredible and we looked forward to our meal every night! We found that breakfast in the buffet and also the brunch at the med were both amazing! And dinner time pizza or gyros was always good! We honestly couldn’t fault a thing we didn’t want to leave and now have the holiday blues!! Don’t hesitate to book this hotel you won’t be disappointed

We’ve just returned from 10 nights at the Mitsis Summer Palace and overall had a fantastic stay. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a junior suite with a plunge pool and sea view, which was a wonderful surprise. The buffet was excellent — probably the best we’ve had across our three different Mitsis stays. The à la carte restaurants were decent, though in our opinion, not quite as strong as at the other Mitsis resorts we’ve visited. The staff really made the stay special. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful, from the attentive buffet team to the concierge and reception staff. We also really appreciated being able to secure a late checkout, as our return flight was late in the evening. The beach was clean and very pleasant, and we never had trouble finding a lounger at any time of day, which made things wonderfully stress-free. Overall, it was a great holiday and we’d definitely recommend the Summer Palace for anyone considering a Mitsis stay.

My partner and I just got back from Summer Palace and really enjoyed our stay. We were a bit worried about some of the negative reviews and were considering changing hotels before arriving but glad we didn’t! We booked a junior suite with sea view which was fab - modern, clean and spacious with gorgeous view. We were very happy with our decision to upgrade. Mini bar was restocked daily with water, pop, beer/wine which was great to enjoy a drink on the balcony. There is no iron in the room but the laundry service was very affordable and quick (same day). There were 2 infinity pools right by our suite and the Fresco bar that always had sun beds available, plus cabanas and Bali beds. We enjoyed all the restaurants and it was nice to be able to do brunches at the med as well for something different. We made our dinner reservations via the app before arriving (3 dinners and 2 brunches max) but concierge also let us know they could help us with additional reservations if we wanted. The buffet was a pretty standard all inclusive buffet but plenty of choice and options. We didn’t end up having dinner in the buffet but enjoyed breakfast/lunch. All the staff were lovely and helpful, and do a lot for all guests. A little cash tip is definitely appreciated. There was also a convenient €2 bus into Kardamena and some fab restaurants (definitely visit Avli!).
