We returned home today after a truly lovely holiday. On arrival, we were told our room was ready, even though it was an hour before check-in. The lovely receptionist suggested we put our bags in our room, unpack after lunch. We did exactly that. The food was wonderful! Ample choices for breakfast and lunch. Every day, the evening meal was a different theme. There was an area child height which we thought a lovely touch. There is plenty of choice for everyone. Our room was spacious and comfortable. As others have mentioned, the showers are a bit of an issue - it's more a wet room, with unfortunate drainage. But, we coped. Room cleaned every day by a cleaning team who always had a smile. Yes, there are wasps, but what sunny resort with sugary drinks doesn't? I have a deadly allergy to wasp stings, I remain calm, and they fly away. What a lovely week we had, and made a point of thanking as many staff as we could. Credit where it's due. Thank you to each and every one. ❤️

We came to this hotel on 23/10/25 from good old yorkshire in England, it has been a brilliant experience, the beach is gorgeous and right by the hotel, the hotel is run very well, it's clean, spacious and the food is amazing with a wide variety of choice, the staff work so hard here. I think the negative reviews are very unfair and clearly wrote by picky people that look for fault in everything! The only negative i can find is the issue with wasps in the eating areas, they are a nuisance but none of us have been stung and they were never in our rooms , they're at the beach too, not just the hotel. All in all we've had a brilliant holiday. Thankyou!

Home after another great holiday here. We had a lovely relaxing 4 week stay in Sept/Oct and nothing was going to stop that come rain, storms and earth tremor!🫢 Staff are so friendly and hard working and the chef and his team produced excellent, mainly Greek cuisine😋😋😋😋, if you a meat and two veg person this hotel is not for you. During our stay weather was very wet and caused the outside seating to be unusable making the indoor areas busy but just go later when it’s quieter. At times the kitchen could not keep up with demand as some guests take so much it is not possible for them to do so. Entertainment, not every night 5 out of 7, was good and the Flying Roosters were amazing as always. We had a deluxe twin room on the 2nd floor which is spacious with lovely sea views. The wardrobe and shelving are plenty big enough, could do with some drawers though. The shower is a wet room but shouldn’t flood if that does happen the soak away needs clearing just let reception know. A shelf and mirror would be helpful in the bathroom. Beds very comfortable with lovely cotton sheets. Towels changed everyday and are nice and white too. The air con worked very well, both cold and hot, and runs quietly. There is a fridge and a kettle with tea and coffee in the room. The pool was always clean and the lifeguard was always attentive. The hotel is directly on the beach and the sea is so clear and had a gentle slope. There are shops, bars and restaurants just outside the hotel and a short walk takes you in to Alykes. So ok there are a few things that need to be addressed around the hotel which will no doubt be worked on during the winter but nothing that spoilt our enjoyment. Thank you Alykanas Beach Grand Hotel

Having read some of the poor reviews I was a little worried about coming here, but I needn't have been. The location could not be better; the place is spotlessly cleaned and the food is just fantastic. I think some of the previous reviewers who have slated this place just haven't travelled very much (or were expecting a UK-standard four star). But they're forgetting we're on a Greek island here. I've stayed in Greek hotels in Santorini, Kefalonia and Mykonos that were far more expensive than this and not as good. Some complaints about the cleanliness really are unfounded. Being up early, you see teams of staff cleaning the pool area thoroughly every morning before the crowds come down. The staff are attentive and friendly and I had to laugh that other reviewers have criticised them for not wearing uniform (!!) The food... We travel a lot to Greece and I love Greek food, so hadn't planned on staying in the hotel in the evenings. We had thought we'd be going out to local tavernas instead. However the food here is so good, and varied, that we stayed at the hotel every evening instead and enjoyed a wide range of different Greek food, some of which I hadn't had before (the deep fried cauliflower was outstanding!) I can only imagine those complaining about the food were the same people I saw moaning because the queue for the fresh gyros had built up, or the ones in the kids' section waiting for the chips to be restocked. If you want to eat good Greek food, this place will meet and surpass expectations. I'm not one for drinking all day so I can't really comment on the all-inclusive drinks, but the alcohol free cocktails were decent enough, and there is local wine on tap if you want it. Finally, the location. It could not be better. Thirty seconds from your room and you're in a shallow warm Greek sea. It's a five minute walk from the local town and beach bars are just a few metres away. The price is worth that alone. Yes there are wasps ... but this is Greece in October. The staff have set up traps and they are an issue all over the island, not just here. If you are coming away to pretend you're still in England; you want to eat chips all day and drink the branded beer you're used to then this is not the place for you. But if you want to try Greek food in a comfortable hotel right on the seafront then this place is a bargain.
