This was the holiday from hell, you couldn’t make it up. A four star all inclusive it was marketed as, there no way this place is four star. On entry you have to download an app to self check in not too much of an issue as long as you can get a connection). Our first room was infested with wasps, dirty and dead flies. They moved us to another room which was dirty and holes in the wall (looked like someone had kicked a hole through the plaster. No gluten free food for our daughter, half of the restaurants weren’t open as stated, fat deposits running down the pathways from the kitchen cleaning, engineers striping down kitchen equipment in the pathways in the middle of the day, we couldn’t sunbathe with all the wasps swarming around the pools where the bin were overflowing with food waste and rubbish, staff were just sitting around on their phones doing nothing, coffee machines broken or just turned off, activities just didn’t happen except the karaoke in the evening. Waterpark slide steps broken and protection rails at the top of the slides broken. The place is a total disaster.

So as a 12 year old here's my review We arrived late hours in morning with a lovely lady to help us to our room we arrived in our room what stank of drains then in morning we went to the pool with thousands of wasps which one ended stinging me. the life guards were just whistling all the time there was alot of stray cats but the hotel did leave cat food out some of the workers look miserable. the people near us making so much noise which we told a security guard but they said they'd do something which they didn't do anything so all together my experience was poor. Wouldn't recommend it definitely not coming again.

Stayed here as a family for a week and whist I am happy we got our money's worth and it was decent value, there are a few details i believe the hotel could do which would have made our stay 5 Star. Firstly cannot fault Jet2, from booking the holiday originally, we were kept up-to-date including check ins, and when it came to the airport there was staff on both sides that kept us informed and were very friendly, ensuring we were on the right path to the transfers and having local information for them. I also got a text with emergency details and there was a rep on site several days to help anyone. The rooms were great, highly recommend block U if can btw, very clean and well maintained. We had a swim up room and it was amazing, i would fully recommend it to anyone looking to book a holiday as it really made a difference when you could have a quiet swim first thing in the morning by yourself. Plenty of space and extra blankets in the cupboards, there was a kettle with cups but no tea bags/coffee if anyone wanted to bring their own and the mini fridge was very powerful. Beds are comfy and changed fairly often with towels being changed every day or so too. The facilities were great, the waterpark was great and the staff looking after the slides were funny and friendly but were quick to ensure kids were always safe and kept a good eye on the younger ones/armbands etc The restaurants were great, usual stuff at breakfast and plenty of it including fresh crepes which were wonderful. Dinners were great in the main restaurants, usual stuff again but plenty of choice and staff were very friendly and place was clean. Location of the hotel is great, there are 2 shops right outside which offer all the extra stuff for your room/presents home. There’s a chemist and there’s several bars and restaurants around the hotel too with lovely people working there. The beach is close too, although there’s a steep hill to walk back up, it’s not a sandy beach for building sandcastles, but the sea is sandy with lots of space before it gets too deep with small occasional fish. The bella restaurant pizza was amazing, as was the food in Rice & spice, and the food in the Al la carte restaurant was lovely too, and the staff in all these places were amazing too. Check out is 11, which is fair but 60 euros if you want to keep the room for a late check out, however, there is a room with showers/toilets/juices and plenty of space for luggage and your wristband is still including for using the hotel once you’ve checked out. The entertainment at night was varied but mainly aimed at families which was great, we only went twice but staff were great at trying to get kids involved at games/dances etc Cons, Apart from the 2 larger restaurants, the others all have to be booked at least a day in advance and you'll usually get a later time, this is only in the small print and you can only book it by going to the main restaurant during their opening times. I wouldn't normally have

Booked this holiday a little last minute but we thought a holiday in October half term would be nice. It was our first holiday as a family of 4, we have a 5 year old little boy with SEND, and a 1 year old girl. We didn’t get very good weather here in October. We had one day of thunderstorms and rain. Other days of cloudy / rainy spells. We probably got a few afternoons of sunshine … 3pm onwards Pro’s We try to pick somewhere with a waterpark to keep our little boy entertained, he’s always been a water baby and this place didn’t disappoint. There was plenty of pools, and the water park facilities were great. Although the water was very cold.. non of the pools appeared to be heated. We also found the fun park in the evenings a massive hit, our little boy loved the trampolines and the bouncy castle. We paid 10 Euros for the bouncy castle each night, but they could go on it until they closed so it was worth the money. He also made use of the trampolines which were a little cheaper. It’s worth noting, everything in this area costs extra. The Rice & Spice restaurant !! Lovely food and really nice to have something different to the same old which is served in the main restaurants. Also the food here was clearly cooked fresh, and was hot . Amazed no one actually tells you about the place! We only found out after reading reviews, and we were only able to book it for our last evening unfortunately so please make sure you’re aware! Get yourself booked in at the main restaurants for this and the Bella restaurant (they serve very nice freshly made pizza ) At meal times there’s always fresh fruit options, or cut up fruit like melon available, this is great for very young children. My little girl especially enjoyed the oranges. Staff in the burger restaurant (near the main pool) Staff in here are just lovely…. They make such a fuss of the children, and are happy to help. Local shops and pharmacies just outside the hotel. Cons Food is what you might call average. By the end of the week we were all very bored with the options available. The food isn’t great for children, especially those who might be a little more picky. Evening meals and lunch meals are very repetitive.. they don’t do any usual looking chicken nuggets, no beans for evening meals this is only available at breakfast. Our little boy lived on chips all week because nothing was to his liking. Snack bar options in my opinion are terrible…. The food is either warmed up from leftovers or it’s been sitting out hours! We tried the gyros which were rock hard wraps and very little meat inside. Chips are stale - no other word for it. The toasties are probably the most fresh. All the sandwiches appear to have a sauce / coleslaw mixture in them , which for a child with autism is a nightmare !! . I opted to ask for a ham Toastie but just as a sandwich for him but everytime I asked for this it was like I’d asked for the world, or like I’d offended them. By the end of the week

Wanted to give an honest review of facilities. Rooms - Q block gets zero sun so pool was like ice. Shower needs resealing as flooded but hey ho not end of the world. Food - was it the best ? No but there was something hot and edible every night. Seen loads about food being cold which is odd as we went at all different times (burger resturant) and was always hot? Snacks were cold and not great all all and ice cream ran out for 2/3 days so was only banana and pistachio flavour. Ate at Rice and Spice last night which was really good. Ate at the main/greek restaurant once and wasnt overly impressed but only because our party are mostly beige eaters. Pools - water slides were good but the dude with the whistle needs to calm down. My son came down and before opening eyes he had drifted sideways, a small girl came down and hit him and without asking if he was ok (he was not) the fella was blowing his whistle like a premier league ref!! My son wouldnt go back on slides because he told him off for not getting out of the way which was annoying but we went in pool elsewhere. Animation team were fab and worked bloody hard but the actual entertainment was lacking as pretty much bingo, karaoke and kids discos all week. There was a good greek night last night though. A lot of the surrounding areas were closed so wouldnt come end of season again but overall staff were good and the facilities too. Noka (resturant outside) was really good. Fajitas were lovely. Defo recommend. One last thing the wasps! Like many i believed that people were exaggerating. I have NEVER experienced anything like this in my life. I know they cant do much about them but holy hell it was awful! You couldnt relax at all, everytime we tried to sun bath we were set upon. We took lidded cups which helped but still swarmed constantly. My niece was stung on day 2 behind her ear while sunbathing and then I myself was stung on the back of my thigh while sitting out front on a step. There really isnt anyway to avoid them which made the holiday stressful tbh. The barman said it was due to pesticides being reduced but who knows. What ever it is, please fix it :-( If youve booked and are second guessing, the only thing that would truly put me off coming back is the wasps. I think wherever we go next time, we will be taking an electronic wasp bat thing.

Decided to book a last minute week break and settled on the Carretta Paradise Village complex at Tragaki on the island of Zante. The layout of the complex appears to have been built on a hillside. Bedrooms are in a number of blocks with each block being given a letter from the alphabet followed by a room number. These blocks are either 2/3 story. On arrival you and your luggage are transported by electric vehicles to your block. Access to many of the blocks are via steep roads and pavements and so may not be suitable for people who have walking difficulties, although if you can stop one of the cars, they will take you to your destination. This is a free service. On arrival at our room and a quick check showed that we did not have the tea/coffee making equipment or glasses in the Bathroom.Lifted the phone to report this and the phone did not work. So back to reception to report this. The tea/coffee facilities carrived but only in the form of a kettle, 2 cups & 2 spoons. You have to supply your own tea/coffee. Rooms were clean & comfortable. Food is generally buffet style but there are a number of themed restaurants which are quite good but you need to book at the main buffett restaurant, the "Silver Spoon" The food leaves a lot to be desired as some of the hot food had been standing so long that it was cold. Imagine for Breakfast a cold fried egg with luke warm bacon and beans. The Breakfast buffet probably had the most choices. Lunch & evening buffets were not very good with some of the meat choices being unidentifiable despite labelling, sometimes tough and sometimes cold.Even the chips were sometime luke warm. There were a good choice of pasta which was generally warm and the Bolognese Sauce was very tasty. The one thing that the Greeks do well are sweets and there was a good choice. There is a choice of pools with some pools being just for toddlers. The water park looked good fun. In my opinion this complex is for kids and if you can't stand the noise of kids yelling, shouting, running around and sometimes crying, this is not for you. There are a good range of drinks with strong alcohol being served at the bars and soft drinks are at the bars & buffets on a "help yourself" basis. The kids appeared to love this. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful with the exception of one or two on reception. After a long journey it would be nice to be welcomed with a pleasant smile and a nice hello. The complex is situated in the small area of Tragaki which has a number of Mini-Markets, a pharmacy, cash machines and car & Quad Bike Hire. There are a few bars, however these were closed asit was getting close to the end of the season. There ia a bus top in the front of the hotel with buses every half hour to Tivlisi ( which is busy village),and also to Zakinthos ( a lovely town with an array of good quality shops and many bars, tavernas & cafes. Taxi's are available via the hotel reception. I think that the cost to Tavlisi is a few eueo's and to Zakintho

Room was a large size, but bedding was one sheet in October so the room was freezing. The food was poor, with no fresh fruit provided apart from apples, staff were unfriendly and bins were left unemptied for long periods which meant there were wasps everywhere so difficult to relax on the sunbed. You must bring your own pool towels as they don’t supply any. And there are NO toiletries provided in the bathrooms so you must bring shampoo and shower gel. They provided me with coffee mugs and teaspoons in my room but no kettle or coffee, so pointless. For a 4* resort, it was no better than a 2-3*

Having stayed here for the first time and having read some of the previous reviews I did have some concerns about the place. Situated in a quiet part of the island it occupies a semi rural location close to the coast. There are around 26 separate accommodation blocks with a variety of room arrangements, some with better views than others and some in quieter areas than others ( we had a standard room ). Due to the number of guests checking in, when we arrived, the check in process was, to me, a little chaotic with everything being done through the hotels app which you have to download first to complete the check in process. Along with a number of other people we had wait for our room to become available. Knowing how many guests were due to arrive I thought this showed a lack of organisation. On reaching our room we found it to be exactly as shown on the web site, it contained a double bed and one single bed separated by a low dividing wall, a spacious bathroom with a large shower enclosure, sink and loo, a balcony/veranda with a table and three chairs, a small fridge and a kettle ( but no cups?). Although there were two wardrobes( only a couple of hangers in each) there was only one small drawer under the dressing table but plenty of low shelf storage space for suitcases and shoes. The mirror above the dressing table was completely useless if you sat on the stool provided, there was also a full length mirror. Though the rooms had been refurbished it did look as if some fittings had been reused, especially in the bathroom. There are several restaraunts on the complex for breakfast, lunch and dinner, though there of them have to booked for evening meals. They all become busy soon after opening. The food on offer is edible if repetitive every day ( and it didn't make us ill ) but it made it clear why people rave about the restaraunts that have to be booked. On a plus point though the deserts on offer were good. The complex has several swimming pools and a water park which are perfect for those with children, however the fun park incurs extra costs as it is not a part of the all inclusive package. There are a range of activities for children throughout the day but we don't know anything about them. Entertainment in the evenings was at best amateur. The majority of the staff were just going through the motions, unlike in other places we have visited in Greece, that may have been due to fatigue at the end of a long season. This isn't somewhere that we will be returning to, as we only went as part of a family group and our granddaughter had a fantastic time. It is a place for families with young children.

Oh what a brilliant holidays! Great family hotel with plenty to do for any ages. Great facilities, good food, especially asian restaurants. Very clean, very pleasant, highly recommended. Nothing beats evenings entertainment provided by Zizou- so much laughter, dancing, singing and bingo prizes (we won twice!!!). Great day trips in different places in very decent prices in English and Polish. Seriously such a good holibobs, plenty to do, even when the weather is not the best.
