Reykjavik, Lokastigur 24A, Midborg 🧭 Map
Loki 101 Guesthouse was the perfect place for my stay in Reykjavik. Its location in the city is fantastic, the room was clean and comfy, and if I had any questions the staff was extremely quick to answer
The hosts and cleaning staff are super friendly and this was the PERFECT base to explore the city. It has the best location and a very well equipped kitchen
The shared bathroom is very small and only has 1 shower but there was rarely a line. We weren't able to enjoy the back porch due to the weather but our room was quite comfortable enough to look out on the streets
I will certainly be staying here again on my next visit!
Although I didn't meet the owners they always responded quickly to any questions I had by email. There were only a few downsides for me. Other guests could be noisy in the corridors and kitchen at all times, day or night
Hope there will be someone to give a brief orientation of how to use the black phone to contact the owner for emergency or how to use the kitchen. Toilet has some smell and hairs in the showers

Selfoss, Sunnuvegur 3, 800 Selfoss, Yuzhnaya Islandiya, Islandiya 🧭 Map
Awesome place! Great host, lovely room, comfy bed! A great little place I discovered on a whim the day of, and I'm so glad I did! The decor was super cute (I was in the pink room) and the facilities were super clean! Great place to stay if you are heading south!
Clean rooms, frendly host. Bathroom was alittle busy in the mornings, and needed a good cleaning. Also kitchen is semi off limits in the morning, so plan accordingly. Parking is somewhat plentiful.
The host was very nice, gave us a warm welcome. The city center is close by, walkable. The kitchen is not included though. Bathroom is shared and quite smelly and dirty actually
Host are a married couple who are friendly and approachable. It's a cosy place and we love it. Comfy beds, clean rooms and we are able to use the kitchen.
His comments about it being tiring to wait up for guests to arrive and to leave unused towels folded and put in a particular place did leave us getting like were stepping on eggshells by being there
We arrived late and didn't realise the kitchen was off limits outside of breakfast times but the host did let us use the microwave as we hadn't had dinner

This is an ancient priests'house remodeled as a guest house. It is beautifully decorated and very quiet. It has a nice shared kitchen with free goods (oil salt rice tea coffee. )
Definitely worth the price ❤
Stayed here October 2018 it was a great experience nice kitchen, clean, very accommodating they even let us check in a little early because we had been up all night traveling to Iceland
No bad comments of this place. Clean, spacy, mixed rooms of cozy and spacy. Fully equiped kitchen*two, awesome bathrooms. Really classy in the home type of high end atmosthere
2 couples, one single room and shared toilet. We had a good night sleep, the place is quite and well positioned. It's possible to use the living rooms and the kitchen at the ground floor
The house has also a private parking lot, with two different entrances. In general a nice place where to stay
No bad place to lay your head twin beds were better then most places

Vik, Víkurbraut 10 🧭 Map
King size beds in each room, shared bathroom, good breakfast, warm and confortable living room to rest after you walked black beaches that are only some 300 meters away
Host super friendly and kind, with a Phone Available at all time. The type of place you need while you visit the region
Several windows were broken, letting in cold air, and in the bedrooms there were only tiny windows with no proper ventilation. Worse still, other guests arrived at 2 a. — well beyond the indicated check-in time of 11 p
Right in the middle of Vik y Myrdal, in front of meeting point of several Tours
It seems the host has no real management or control over the property. It’s a shame, because the beds were actually very comfortable — but sadly, that’s about the only positive thing we can say
The listing promised breakfast included, but all we found were a few eggs and a jar of Nutella left in the kitchen. Definitely not the on-site, prepared breakfast we were led to expect

Guesthouse Húsið was clean, cosy, and very comfortable after long days exploring Iceland. The rooms were well kept and warm, and everything felt thoughtfully arranged. A great base for travelling around the area
The host (Yana I think) was really nice and very helpful. The guesthouse was incredibly clean and all of the food and services were great. Would definately recommend for school/college trips (as we did)
the host and her family were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. the rooms were very clean and sufficient size we had an amazing time and would love to come again, highly recommend
I stayed here as part of a school trip to Iceland two years ago. I really enjoyed my time staying at this guesthouse. The hosts were incredibly friendly and definitely nice people to speak to
We stayed here for one night in the cosy wooden hut. It was comfortably warm, a nice bed for two and a lovely view outside. Clean washroom and nice breakfast in a dining hall
I forgot my backpack in the dining room the morning after our stay, but the staff collected it for me and kept it safe for a couple of days until I was able to collect it

The owner was so nice! The stay was comfortable and clean! Next time im coming to Iceland ill definitely be booking here again!
Booked this place for one night before going for the big circle. Had to wait for about 30 minutes to get in. Luckily there was another guy waiting that had local cell phone so he dialed place owner
Otherwise we would probably wait forever. The place itself is fairly old, but the rooms were ok for the overnight
It is more like a shared house made into a guest house. Looks and feels kinda old inside, room wasn't cosy. You can't take shower between 11 pm and 7 am. You have to take your shoes off as you enter
It's value for money but don't expect hotel comfort

We were able to make use of the jacuzzi on the deck that evening which was just what we needed after a long travel day. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic with a great selection of food and really great coffee
We even had a fun high chair for our son to use which converted to a play car when he was done eating. A great experience all round and a fantastic place to base yourself for a golden circle trip or to visit Reykjavik
Awoke to a great breakfast, made specially for us since we were the only guests that night, and had a nice conversation with him while we ate. The facilities were extremely clean, well equipped, and pretty
We stayed for one night at the very end of our trip and this was a perfect place to wind down and relax. Johan was so friendly and attentive when we arrived and made us feel very at home right away
Johann is a perfect host - accommodating, helpful on travel tips - his place is absolutely gorgeous! Will add more pics later. HIGHLY Recommend in you are anywhere near Selfoss.
Arrived at 130am and the host was as friendly as could be and didn't mind the late arrival. Showed us into this beautiful, wonderfully furnished house, and slept very well

Parking was available on the street and in their own gravel parking lot next to the building. Breakfast was delicious with high quality meats, cheeses, bread, fruit, and other options
Nice view, very clean and cosy, newly renovated in an modern Scandinavian but still traditional way. The landlady is very kind and helpful and serves a delicious breakfast with homemade ingredients
We were very pleased with our stay here. Bed was comfy and room was clean. The shower had nice shampoo and conditioner and the decor was simple but pleasant
It's awesome, gorgeous views, lovely rooms, super host and as for the breakfast it's like a 4 star hotel , and all at guesthouse prices
I sailed from the UK and around Iceland, but damaged mast and pulled in, I was told this was the place to stay
Lovely place to stay. The host was most helpful and very friendly. Great breakfast to see us off.

Husavik, Laugarbrekku 16 🧭 Map
There was plenty of food available and all was great quality. Location was ideal, with less than 5 minutes walk to the centre of Husavik, and the owners were very welcoming, friendly and responsive to queries we had
This accomodation has been extensively renovated since the photos on TA and is now known as B&B Rooms Husavik 3. Very modern and clean accommodation. Shared bathroom facilities were ideal given the number of rooms
The property deserves extra stars for the coffee machine!! It is barista standard and we loved having it available! The flexibility of breakfast was perfect as we could eat as early or as late as we liked
We particularly liked the kitchen facility and were able to stream some TV to relax for a few hours one evening
We would 100% recommend B&B Rooms to anybody and we hope to return in the future
The owner of this Place Is Amazing

Peter did everything he could to help me, I got a last minute room with no problems after missing a connecting flight. Peter also offers a shuttle from the airport cheaper than a taxi. Room was clean, tidy and quiet
Best value for the money in Iceland
Nice place to sleep, just 4km from international Airport. Staff was very friendly and helpful
Great place for staying if your flights arrives late or leaves early

Melur Guesthouse is not far from Leboskin café, Akrafjall and Akranes Lighthouse, and is on top of that the cheapest guesthouse in Akranes. Free breakfast and check-out at 12:00
Friendly host and nice comfortable beds. Comes with all the amenities you would expect from a hotel suite (towels, soap, kitchen etc.)
Stay was great! Bed was comfy, rooms very cozy. Located right in Akranes. Would definitely stay again if I come back.
The host, a typical Icelandic, is quite nice though i didn't talk much to him because I was exhausted after a long hike at Akrafjall
The outside is not flashy and teasing but the inside and the rooms are clean, nice and sober
Rooms are clean, two bathrooms are in the house. Rooms are on the floor which is accesible by steep stairs. Beds are okay, but mattress is very soft. One smaller refrigerator is for guests

Don't let the exterior fool you, it is very nice inside
The room was on the small side but it was adequate for our needs, and there was a pleasant shared area where one could sit to read. That area also had a kitchen that guests could use
It miss right out onto the water with mountains behind, making a beautiful view. Also a very short (and scenic) drive into town
It was the quietest room we have stayed in during our vacation here in Iceland. He let us keep our perishables in his refrigerator overnight and was very helpful and accommodating
On our second and third mornings, when the hostess wasn’t as busy with cleaning rooms, she made us cooked eggs. The entire property was clean, and the shower in our private bathroom was more spacious than some we’ve seen
It is built in a refurbished fish cannery, so the exterior is industrial--complete with derelict machinery--but the rooms are delightful. Clean, well-furnished, comfortable, and spacious

Everything was clean und tidy and the stuff was very friendly. They have multiple separate bathrooms with shower and toilet. During Corona Time there were just a few people
In the kitchen you can drink any kind of coffee and tea for free. Ther is also a fright, toaster and microwave accessible. We would recommend this accommodation
Very basic hostel, no oven, no toaster, no freezer, no hotplate in the kitchen. I guess not enough bathrooms in case of fully booked
On the other hand very clean, friendly personal, nice location, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are warm

Reykjavik, 121 Hringbraut 🧭 Map
Probably the cheapest accommodation in whole Iceland and the equipment is accordingly. The rooms consisted of concrete floor, 4 walls, one jacket rack and beds. No table, no chair and nothing else
Took this photo in the lobby on my vacation a few months ago. Tried to figure it out who it was. Took me a minute but that's Eddie Sparks. The guy who found anonymous in the US
Hotel was nice with the bar and outside area with roof access too
This is fine though, since you get what you pay for. The comon area is spacious and the kitchen has everything that you need for simple meals. Also the location is decent and only a 15 minute walk from the walking street
its big. the nights we were there the kitchen area turned into a lot of fun. A bunch of people trying to cook in, and have a few drinks to save money turned into a big group out on the town.
Free parking is available and the keyless door system works well :)

Reykjavik, Laugavegur 172, Hlidar 🧭 Map
I am really sad that it is temporarily closed because it is an awesome place to stay: from the unique pod feature (which is super safe and cool - and trust me you won't feel claustrophobic), great location, awesome staff, all the way to a cool wall feature with all the guests' signature on it
I've made friends and nice memories and I hope it will reopen soon so others can enjoy this place too
We tried it because the pods looked fun and a bit more private than a typical hostel. There were more than enough toilets for the amount of guests, and they seemed to be very clean
The pods did not seem to lock at all but would still recommend for the experience
I have booked this pod for my trip in Reykjavik in 2019
I appreciate they sell some snacks, so you don't have to go out if you are just a bit hungry and have no food. The reception has nice couches and a great view

Hella, Ásvegur 3 🧭 Map
Honestly the best hostel I have ever stayed anywhere in the world. Did not have opportunity to try other hostels in Iceland, but there is no way to go wrong with this one. Very short drive from the main 1 road
There's also a 'Used gas basket' (which I haven't seen anywhere else and I loved the idea of sharing among travellers) for partially used gas bottles (you can take them if you need them for camping or you can leave yours there for others to use)
Great place to stay for a small group. Not the best location, but not a big deal for the price.
Rooms were clean and well kept. Kitchen was also clean.
McDonald’s burger no longer there though!
You can choose a room for yourself or you can stay with other guests in a shared room (which is a bit cheaper). The prices are all affordable
The kitchen is above average too, it has induction plates, which is a first on my Iceland round-trip. You even get a selection of free sauces there. Check in time is until 22:00 and check out at 10:00
We came to view Icelands last McDonald’s sold they have on display and it was closed. We were told by a stranger that this place only opens for large groups and you have to call ahead. Snotra house? Snotopen house!

A very cozy and beautiful place, owned by a nice and welcoming couple !
Don't forget to get upstairs , just for the view !
Takk fyryr vinurminn 🙏
Ps : get a fish soup and a kaffi down there and check the beautiful theater !
We had a wonderful three days in the area around Hostel Gimli in Dalvik and enjoyed the warm welcome and homely atmosphere. The fish soup is truly legendary, and it's served in a lovely tavern, well worth a visit
5 stars just because it's not possible to put 6 or 7. The owner Bjarni was very comprehensive with me and accepted to host me even if it was a closure day. The room was clean, welcoming and warm
Visited to escape from the rain on my camping trip. Lovely host, and rooms hot water, WiFi and all facilities were ideal. I slept well in my single room and enjoyed my stay here
Great location. Beautiful view. Nice host who is helpful. Information brochures and many maps of the area are available at the property. Clean and pleasant!
Highly recommended!
Gunnarsson, is very helpful and quickly came to our aid when we locked ourselves out or forgot our backpacks. Thanks so much for that, and also for all the tips

Cleanliness wasn't perfect both in the room and in the common kitchen (the oven was so dirty it has smoked and triggered the fire alarm during use)
During our one night stay we haven't met any staff member, even the direct phone at the door wasn't working
The room was large, cosy and nicely furbished; we haven't overheard any other rooms, neighbours

This hostel was much better than I thought it would be and for the price it's a really good value. Whoever is in charge of cleaning they honestly need a raise! You could literally eat on the floor
The room and the toilets were absolutely sparkling. From what I saw it has 2 toilets with shower and an extra bathroom with 3 more toilets, I never had to wait to use any of them
The dormitory and the bathrooms were super clean and the shared kitchen was great and very useful ! And there were a lot of chickens, ducks, horses, dogs and a cat : so nice to watch them and play with the dogs !
The dorms have lots of room for your bags, shared bathrooms are kept clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The private rooms are especially large, great views, comfy couch and plenty of space to do some yoga
They sell eggs from their chickens that roam their property, and beautiful Iceland wool hats. The folks who run it try hard to oblige their guests, going beyond to make a memorable stay
The tiles with Spanish folklore in them made me laugh as I'm from Spain and it was so random. Thank you for making our 2 days in Vik so comfortable, we felt right at home
