Cozy guesthouse, and they offered us the use of their rowboat on a nearby private lake!!! Nice and clean. Would recommend. The kitchen area could use some more pots and pans and utensils. Great find
They really try to be the cheapest, cost wise, in iceland. We arrived late and the front staff scraped a feast together for us, wich we were immensely grateful for. Comfy country atmosohere. Favorite spot so far.
really nice guesthouse, it was a school long time ago. they have extra breakfast buffet which taste delicious and a coffee machine! there is a common room with a TV, a little bar, a laundry service...
Really unique place - old school and students dorm transformed into hotel. Everything was really clean, staff extremely nice and helpful and breakfast delicious.
We had a spacious bedroom with a tv and a sink. The communal showers and toilets were very clean. Overall, we didn’t spend too much time here aside from sleeping and getting back on the road the next morning
Few kilometers away from main town but reasonable price. 1 bedroom, one hall with sofa bed, dining table and kitchen area with all fascility served our purpose. We had booked 3 such apartment for our group

Great if you are tight in budget and want to cook your own meals. Theres plenty of free parking around. Manager is very friendly and helpful too, so for the money, I serously have no complains at all
Lovely guesthouse run by a lovely family. Host was kind and offered a room change for us even without asking due to a glitch in the alarm system in our room. Kitchen was well equipped with oil, salt, pots, pans, etc
I have never felt so well cared for! I really felt like I found an ally in Iceland to give me advice. The washer here was broken so our hostess took our laundry home and brought it back fresh and folded
Rooms are very clean and spacious and the staff is exceptionally friendly. There's free tea and coffee (even without booking breakfast) and a very nice shared kitchen and a comfy dining space
One of the best valued guest houses we have stayed in our 8 days trip in Iceland, with great clean rooms and shared kitchen (free coffees) and bathroom facilities
A hot tub is also available and an outside winter garden with seat space is provided as well. Shared bathrooms are separate from shared toilets

We got caught in a snow storm and they took us in on Christmas Eve (the main evening in Iceland). They treated us to Christmas dinner, all of the Icelandic treats, and included us in their traditions
) and they will provide almost anything you ask. The location is excellent and within walking distance from many of the main attractions and restaurants. We wished we could stay longer
This is an absolute jewel! The hosts are friendly and welcome you into their home, which happens to be your apartment. The kitchen is very well stocked (including homemade jams, etc
I’m a year late in writing this review but I was remembering with my wife and had to write it. Gudrun and Emil are the most amazing hosts we have ever encountered
They didn’t need to but they took us in during the storm. The apartment is incredible too. The kitchen is stocked with anything you need and the separation of the house gives plenty of privacy
All in all, they made us feel like visiting friends rather than just checking in to a regular guesthouse. We will certainly come back the next time we are in Iceland! :)

Great windows for northern lights watching, horseback riding, hot tub, dogs, cat and my favorite, a home made pub with personal concert. Drinking a scotch and petting a dog while listening to Johnny Cash slaps
We came in October and the weather was fairly cold and rainy, but the room was warm and cosy with underfloor heating! Beds were comfy too. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again!
The apartments have been built by the owner which thoroughly impressed us. The room is very nice with a kitchenette great wifi and the view is amazing. It was nice to see the wild life (sheep and horses) up close
The owner Magnus and his wife were very friendly, Magnus can sing very well (among his many talents and skills) and he entertained us with live music at their bar built in their barn
We stayed only one night but we love the place. Family flat is very spacious including a living room and kitchen. Location is quiet but the host Magnus and Celina are super nice
We got to have a look around the stables and generally chat to them and they were lovely! The rooms are very nice. Simple, but everything works well

Our Guesthouse, Akureyri1 / 14Offer

Akureyri, 82 Hafnarstræti 🧭 Map
I loved staying here a couple of nights to dodge some Icelandic weather. The owner Gunnar was hilarious (very dry sense of humour) really helpful and friendly, as is his daughter Isabella (apologies for any misspelling)
For Iceland the price they charge is really low price and it's fair, because as a young traveller you don't have that much money and it's nice if you can go without spending a fortune and still have a comfortable bed (yes, you have actual BEDS in this hostel, not some old shaky bunk beds like in many other hostels)
(Very) late arrival was no problem at all, I sent an email and they responded within an hour, arranged everything for me and I had a warm and cozy bed waiting for me after a very long and tiring drive
The owner was awesome! The room was very cute and modern. The shared kitchen and restroom was nice and had everything we needed. The owner helped us get our car out of the snow after the snowstorm
Bathroom / restroom is very clean as well, you also have a sink in the room, which is nice, so you don't have to go to the bathroom to shave/brush your teeth. Really appreciated the hospitability
The kitchen is also very good, I was missing a stove, but then again you have free tea/coffee which is awesome. The staff/owner is very nice as well

Cozy little place with all the cooking utensils one could need. There were two bathrooms with showers shared with 4 other rooms, which is very good considering the low price. The beds were very comfortable and clean
For being in the middle of nowhere this was one of the best GuestHouse in Iceland. Do you share a guesthouse with five other rooms but there's enough area where you can feel like you're the only one there
The spacious living and dining room was a great place to relax, and the view from the picture window was spectacular. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, cooking utensils and a dishwasher
Great B&B! Clean rooms, great accommodation which you share with other guests. You can use the kitchen to prepare your own meal and enjoy the hottub while watching the Northern light.
This is a cozy guest house in beautiful Stykkishólmur, a town surrounded by water. Making a reservation was very easy. The bedroom and shared bathroom were comfortable and clean
The owner was very nice and helped us with all our problems. I would definitely recommend going here if you need a place to stay!

Very beautiful rooms, small but modern and in a calm environment. Feels very homey. The view from the rooms is incredible. The owner is very welcoming and nice.
A great place, isolated and quite but still 7 minutes drive from the town of Borgarnes (a VERY small town, pretty much empty after 8pm). The hotel offers an included breakfast and a dinner service
Very isolated and quiet with views of river and mountains was originally a fishing lodge with great history. They checked us in early and made us feel at home as weather was very bad
Beautiful house and beautiful area, wifi in the rooms may be weak depending on the room, but very strong in the living room that also offers coffee and tea throughout the evening
Probably the neighbors fault, who decided to cut off all strangers from the area Coziness ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - terrace and living area were very comfy, especially in sunshine Staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - nice personnel, could‘ve been a little more alert with refilling the water boiler Final Thoughts: Definitely a nice spot to stay for a while, but only if you‘re actually relaxing and not online 24/7 🤭 Besides missing...
Small but cosy rooms great food from local farm. Expensive but really enjoyed our brief stay

I would HIGHLY recommend staying here - it's along the Golden Circle, close to waterfalls and a perfect place to start or end your trip! It's about an hour from the Blue Lagoon! And we got to see the Northern Lights which was very special! Thanks!
The best breakfast we had in Iceland. Rooms are very nice and clean. Beds super comfortable. We regret deeply not having the time to have dinner there, since the menu looked great. Brilliant location, can only recommend.
The Skyr Bistro downstairs was one of our best meals. Far from cheap (but what is in Iceland?) but very cozy, great bistro
Hands down the best! We booked our stay on a complete whim as we wanted to stay somewhere with no cloud coverage so we can see the Northern Lights! It's about an hour away from Reykjavik and has many hot springs around the town
We got our room cleaned daily and towels refreshed. You can request a breakfast boxe for about 3000kr (has plenty of food inside) an evening in advance, to have food prepared for adventures the next day - great idea!
Small, comfortable room with a shared kitchen and bathroom, ideal for a couple of days that you plan to spend more outside than inside. The kitchen fridge wasn't working, but we didn't ask for it to be fixed either

Incredible. This place is absolutely gorgeous. The owners are very friendly and the hotel is by far the best we stayed in in Iceland. I would definitely recommend it.
I would highly recommend Kria! We'd definitely go back:)
nice stay, loved the room with the view and the jacuzzi outside. Superb breakfast. Visit the nice design gas station, very nice.
This was a great stay! Clean space, view of the mountain, and she prepared a huge breakfast for us. Highly recommend.
Wow view! Amazing to be in warm jacuzzi when it's cold outside

Everything was perfect. Located closer to golden circle. Breakfast was completely Vegetarian which was ideal for us. Julia is very kind and environment friendly. Definitely recommend staying here 100%.
It gives everything one can wish for in a night's stay, and then, more. Julia and Maik showed us the widest smile possible, and we really felt welcome, and at home
Cannot say enough amazing things about this place! My fiance and I had the most comfortable stay here and would recommend it to anyone! Julia was extremely welcoming and kind, and her breakfast was delicious.
Julia had great suggestions for things to visit and seems to really enjoy hosting and meeting new people. This place also has excellent mountain views that includes views of the volcano that erupted in 2010
Julia's guesthouse was excellent! We chose to have both dinner and breakfast at the guesthouse. We shared the shower facilities with others but had a private half bath connected to our private room
Lovely hosts, beautifully decorated house, excellent breakfast and a unique welcome by three birds, two cats and a fluffy rabbit in one of Iceland's hubs of hospitality.

I recommend this place to the person who will be out and about most of the time and is on a budget
Classic guesthouse with comfortable rooms, convenient location to shopping, nice kitchen, chatty but respectful fellow guests. Rules are clearly posted and everyone followed the quiet hours and kept the kitchen spotless
The owner is friendly and gave us great local information. We were very happy to find this affordable (for Iceland) lodging for our 24-hour layover
Nice place to stay for what you spend. Communal kitchen was handy to have and close to the bus stop but 40 minutes from the city. Beds were comfortable and it was nice and warm. Bathrooms could have been a little cleaner
The guesthouse did the job perfectly for us. It is clean and we'll organized. The kitchen was stocked with the basics for cooking and the breakfast was a nice bonus. There is free WiFi and free parking on site
Decent location in a very quiet industrial area. Good base for Reykjavik, Blue Lagoon, and the airport. Easy access to get on main roads for south coast day trips and Golden Circle

Clean room, nice place. The host is the kindest person ever. He welcomed us despite the fact that we arrived without reservation and very late (around 1am) and offered us a cup of coffee. Recommended.
Everything was clean and worked perfectly. We even used the washing machine (you should ask beforehand how much does it cost to use it). I would totally recommend to come here
Super nice host, fully equiped kitchen, simple but comfortable rooms, best in this price:)
The landscapes are great and you’re only 30 min away by car to the nearest town
Very nice hostel, it's settled in a beautiful place.

Camped here in mid September and had a great experience. The facilities for the campground were excellent. It is in a beautiful location directly on the ocean. We were one of only 4 campers at the site
Damien and Oscar were lots of fun too! They were running the place when we went. They also had great lamb for dinner. It did cost close to $40 but there are restaurants within close proximity, about a 25-30min drive out
Beautiful location out in the western peninsula of Iceland. Nice big lobby with wifi, unfortunately wifi didn't reach the rooms but my friends and I hung out in the lobby/main hall anyways
Lovely little guesthouse, very close to the water side. Lots of windows in the rooms mean it's a great spot to spend the night if you're hoping to spot the Aurora Borealis.
We ended up drinking and playing card games with some of the other guests, and we all had a jolly good time! Got to meet new people which can always be fun in itself
We stayed the night in one of the cabins. The sights were breathtaking! The guesthouse was very clean and well organized. Wireless internet was a nice plus

The main owner and chef, Sigga, is lovely and cooks up some delicious traditional Icelandic dishes in the kitchen upstairs. We’ve stayed here twice (once in winter, once in summer) and had a great experience both times
I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. We've stayed in some beautiful homes during our trip but this is an absolute treat. We stayed downstairs and there were two toilets and showers with a sink in your bedroom
One of the friendliest and most comfortable guest houses I’ve ever stayed in, not just in Iceland but ever! On a snowing freezing day, the heated tile floors in the shower and main areas feel incredible
You get a complimentary breakfast 8-10am. Free coffee/tea anytime during the day. And you can purchase dinner in the evening. We had the soup, it was very tasty. They offer horseback riding as well
We were even able to check in super late without any issues! Very accommodating! My favorite stay of the three places we stayed while visiting Iceland
Can easily visit the golden circle from here. Better than comparable priced hotels in the city. Sink in bedroom, shared showers

Loki 101 Guesthouse was the perfect place for my stay in Reykjavik. Its location in the city is fantastic, the room was clean and comfy, and if I had any questions the staff was extremely quick to answer
The hosts and cleaning staff are super friendly and this was the PERFECT base to explore the city. It has the best location and a very well equipped kitchen
The shared bathroom is very small and only has 1 shower but there was rarely a line. We weren't able to enjoy the back porch due to the weather but our room was quite comfortable enough to look out on the streets
I will certainly be staying here again on my next visit!
Although I didn't meet the owners they always responded quickly to any questions I had by email. There were only a few downsides for me. Other guests could be noisy in the corridors and kitchen at all times, day or night
Hope there will be someone to give a brief orientation of how to use the black phone to contact the owner for emergency or how to use the kitchen. Toilet has some smell and hairs in the showers

Awesome place! Great host, lovely room, comfy bed! A great little place I discovered on a whim the day of, and I'm so glad I did! The decor was super cute (I was in the pink room) and the facilities were super clean! Great place to stay if you are heading south!
Clean rooms, frendly host. Bathroom was alittle busy in the mornings, and needed a good cleaning. Also kitchen is semi off limits in the morning, so plan accordingly. Parking is somewhat plentiful.
The host was very nice, gave us a warm welcome. The city center is close by, walkable. The kitchen is not included though. Bathroom is shared and quite smelly and dirty actually
Host are a married couple who are friendly and approachable. It's a cosy place and we love it. Comfy beds, clean rooms and we are able to use the kitchen.
His comments about it being tiring to wait up for guests to arrive and to leave unused towels folded and put in a particular place did leave us getting like were stepping on eggshells by being there
We arrived late and didn't realise the kitchen was off limits outside of breakfast times but the host did let us use the microwave as we hadn't had dinner

King size beds in each room, shared bathroom, good breakfast, warm and confortable living room to rest after you walked black beaches that are only some 300 meters away
Host super friendly and kind, with a Phone Available at all time. The type of place you need while you visit the region
Several windows were broken, letting in cold air, and in the bedrooms there were only tiny windows with no proper ventilation. Worse still, other guests arrived at 2 a. — well beyond the indicated check-in time of 11 p
Right in the middle of Vik y Myrdal, in front of meeting point of several Tours
It seems the host has no real management or control over the property. It’s a shame, because the beds were actually very comfortable — but sadly, that’s about the only positive thing we can say
The listing promised breakfast included, but all we found were a few eggs and a jar of Nutella left in the kitchen. Definitely not the on-site, prepared breakfast we were led to expect

Olafsfjordur, 570 Fljót 🧭 Map
The setting itself is breathtaking—so much so that we jokingly started calling it the Valley of the Gods, and honestly, it felt like an entirely different world
Deplar Farm is the kind of place that doesn’t just impress—it stays with you. From the outset, the level of service and attention to detail was flawless
Meals at the common table were the best as we got so much out of conversations with our fellow world travelers, a great mix of international folks with tales to tell
We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Deplar Farm, and it’s safe to say the experience far exceeded all expectations—by a long shot
Sitting down each evening with fellow travelers to share stories, laughter, and spectacular meals created a real sense of community. The food itself was phenomenal—local, fresh, and prepared with incredible care
One of the unexpected highlights was the communal dining experience. At first, we were a little unsure about the setup, but it quickly became one of our favorite aspects of the stay

Really a great hotel in the suite type style. Clean, immaculate, and a great central location in Reykjavik. One staff member called back a tour bus after we had accidently missed the departure time
We absolutely loved our apartment which had a separate double bedroom and twin beds in the living area. Having a sofa, kitchen and dining table was lovely - it felt like being at home
We also had the breakfast basket added and it was fantastic, such a lovely treat every day. Would highly recommended both for couples and especially for families
This is not a 5 star accommodation as in luxury etc. But it by no means deserved a 4 star review , so I had to give it 5. Very very helpful and friendly staff

No bad comments of this place. Clean, spacy, mixed rooms of cozy and spacy. Fully equiped kitchen*two, awesome bathrooms. Really classy in the home type of high end atmosthere
